I LOVED this review because these are the same exact restaurants that I have booked for my upcoming Bliss cruise. As a foodie, this video was perfect!!
Thank you so much Ryan! You will definitely enjoy these restaurants. That seafood platter at ocean blue was awesome and we love food republic sooo much. Thank you so much for watching.
@@Cruisingfoodies I love Ocean Blue, but it's being replaced by Palomar. I am going to try to make a reservation for it on embarkation day, which happens to be our anniversary. I can make dining reservations starting tomorrow
Omg the food looks amazing. You really explored all the upscale dining on the ship. Thanks for showing it. I am vicariously living through your cruise. 😊
First ncl cruise to Panama canal 12/4. I’m still confused on the specialty dining. I have 3 restaurants in my pkg but if I wanted to try some others can I just go in there and pay the price or do I absolutely have to have the pkg? Love this video. The way you describe food is exactly how I feel. lol
We did the Panama Canal on the bliss a few years ago and I loved it! It's a great cruise! We do like the specialty restaurants so I usually upgrade my plan to include 5 -7 speciality restaurants depending on how long we're cruising for. You can do that right online n purchase extra nights at a specialty restaurant. You can try any restaurant without the package also but the price is a la carte and more expensive so I always say, get the package. It saves $$$.
@@Cruisingfoodies awesome! good to know. The ala carte will work for us in addition to the pkg I already purchased because I won't know if my husband will want to go or not and also I can do that by myself if he doesn't want to go (e.g. seafood restaurant, he's super picky lol). Good info. thanks again! I though the ocean looked great but I know he won't like it.
@@julieleuthard9226 that will work out great. Also ocean blue does offer steak and chicken options just in case your hubby isn't a seafood fan. Feel free to ask any questions as you approach your cruise. I'm always happy to help.
We have been cruising with NCL since 2006. We are going on the Bliss in May for our 45th anniversary. First time to Alaska and first time on the Bliss. It will be our 8th NCL cruise. We've also been on 2 Royal cruises, but NCL is our go to cruise line. Their website is easy to navigate, and I agree with you about the way they package choices. I like the layout of the ships and the included dining has been great so far, as well as the specialty dining. We like most of the shows on board, and the staff have always been fantastic. I am sad at some of the changes, specifically the change from "free at sea" to "more at sea" . I don't need premium liquor. It's going to cost more overall. We booked this latest cruise in July. I was assured that we would not be charged the extra gratuities for the new drink packing and specialty dining, even though will be enjoying the new more at sea. I hope it's true. I am excited for this cruise.
@@lorigrimaldi194 I totally agree with you in regards to them more at sea. I wish they would have left that as an option instead of a must. I still love Norwegian and all of their mega ships. We spent about a month altogether on the bliss between the Panama canal and Alaska and we definitely love her and the crew. I think you'll really enjoy the ship and the itinerary
We really enjoyed the mix platter at Q, cornbread, and their margarita as well. I don't care for la cucina personally, but I'm old school Italian and cook all my own pasta at home, so the only thing that I did like there was the steak. For los lobos, the tableside guac was good, we liked the tacos and empanadas and the the enchiladas mole and the red snapper. The chocolate cake and tres leches were good for dessert but I would skip the bunuelos.
You're welcome. We are going on a transatlantic cruise out of Miami to Europe for 2 weeks on NCL Bliss and they gave us 3 specialty restaurants for free so we wanted to narrow down which ones are the best ones, and u helped us figure out by hust watching your video. Thank you
@@enrickguerra1594 the transatlantics r great. Lots of rest time. If the weather is good, check out the vibe beach club, it's a nice little getaway while onboard
Sounds good and that's what we are gonna do then. Let me ask u this them. We love to dance latin music at the mojitos bar. Do they have a latin band playing every night ?
Agreed. Eating specialty dining every night elevates the cruise experience from “pretty good” to “great”. And it’s not that much money to upgrade all 7 dinners.
How does it work for Food Republic and La Cucina as far as what you get? My understanding is normally it's an appetizer, main, and dessert. At a typical Japanese restaurant i might get two or three rolls. And for Italian, can one get antipasti, pasta, and a main? Great presentation of the restaurants. Thanks.
Thank you so much for watching. In regards to restaurants like Food Republic, they told us to pick 4 dishes each. It was great bc it was plenty. And yes for la cucina, it was app, entree, dessert. My friends got both hot n cold app so soup n salad.
They are so good at accommodating any food allergies or specific requests. I'm gluten and dairy free and they have made dishes separately for me so many times. We had 50 in our party and 2 vegans and they were totally great at having specific dishes for them at each restaurant and they even ordered the night before if they wanted to. You guys will love it.
love the Bliss, we did alaska on the Bliss in 2022 and will be doing the Panama Canal in feb of 2025 can't wait.
All the food looks really good Gina! Esp the steak! Mahalo for showing. 🤙😋
Thanks so much Sean, the food was awesome on here!
