I had mixed feelings going into this. After 60 episodes with the original cast, it's definitely jarring to see new faces. The momentum built up by the first season has been greatly diminished. But this first episode gives me hope. I'll put my faith in these new actors. I don't begrudge the creators for having to re-cast, sometimes these things are unavoidable. I'm just glad they are continuing the story. And in the end, the story is still the same, as is the music, the production value, the wonderful cinematography and choreography; this is still a good show. And honestly, as long as Sang Sang is in it, I'd be willing to watch anything.
Wow Dylan wang is an awesome actor, in season 2 ,and it has more action, and they all have strong powers, I just hope sang,sang don’t die in season two, she’s sick and needs help, knowing sang,sang she won’t let anything happen too her husband, sick or not their a team together with both their powers, but sang,sang still have a lot too learn. Too master the light.
I had a hard time adjusting to Dylan when I first watched EN S2. But now that I am rewatching the whole thing (S1 and S2) after years have passed, I have to say that Dylan did a pretty good job as NQ. I couldn't appreciate him much before but now I do. Especially when I noticed that he did his own stunts. His acting was even better than Arthur. He is better at acting out physical and emotional pain than Arthur. Arthur is better at acting out youthful confidence and arrogance. They were both suited as NQ in their respective drama seasons.
Did not watch Ever Night S1. Only came to S2 after watching the effort of the crew in the director’s diary filming in the very harsh environment. Found this enjoyable especially the action scenes and the special effects. Respect to the whole production team🙏
It was just the first episode but it felt very intense already!!! :D spread love, not hate. expectations will just make you grumpy and sad :D Respect the team's hard work and dedication to make this drama something worth watching. :D

wow im really surprised by the change of sang sang from the end of first to second season. in the first season shes never called the NQ by his name, and she was always happy and carefree especially so innocent, but in this season, shes changed a lot, calling him by his name, and also be able to sense nearby enemies with a sudden change of seriousness

Same feeling here. I had trouble adjusting to the new Ning que. he felt foreign and felt like his connection to sang sang was different than Arthur Chen. I kept imagining how Arthur Chen would act the scenes. Took me also my half the season to like Dylan and made believe he was Ning Que.

I actually like Dylans acting here. I really don’t mind him replacing Arthur cuz i feel the chemistry between sang sang & Nique now(in a romantic way not like sibling kind of relationship unlike in season1). Although Nique was such a badass on season 1, here im having adifferent view of him.

If you had to change the male lead, it would have been better if you also changed the female lead. Now it just feels off and weird. Too many changes, including all of our most favorite characters, this story cannot just continue the way it does now... epic fail of a sequel!

I like the new Prince Ling in his new role since his fall from grace. He's more relaxed, not as uptight and rigid as child of light. And Dylan, I like this.
It has to be very hard to come in to take over another actor's established role(lead or supporting) in a very popular drama. You are damned if you try to play it the way the original actor did, and you're damned if you put your own take on the character. It also takes time to get comfortable with the rest of the cast. They have a background being around each other on set, goofing off between takes, laughing when someone does a blooper. The new actor immediately has a tough act to follow and I think they do try to do their best.

At first I was like...huh, but after the first fight, I was like..."Zoey Meng Who?". The lead guy hasn't pass my litmus test yet, but I like the plot already and I'm going to tuff it through until I can get over fact that there are new actors there. I don't like the new king, his acting doesn't have the emotional face like the king in EN1, but it's still early. And the princess doesn't have that"thing" like the princess in EN1. But again, it's still early. I'm glad to see Chen Pin Pin still here. So far, the action is good. The cinematography doesn't have that rich authenticness like EN1. But I'm glad season 2 is here and will continue to post my opinions as a fan of the show. Be Blessed Yall!

@@reemcont It seems the original actor signed a contract for a different series when a second season for Ever Night hadn't been confirmed yet. It took a long time to confirm season 2 and by that time the original actor could not go back because of the other series.
I loved both seasons and both actors who played Ning Que did great. Season one was leaning towards world building, storytelling, character development and introduction of characters and their titles and their sects plus their interests and capabilities . The story gets more intense and intresting but it's not the end of it. I hope they will bring the final season.
Arthur Chen's acting and voice was a key reason that hooked me into Ever Night and he's gone in season 2. Zoey Meng is also no longer cast as Ye Hong Yu which isn't great. Those last couple episodes of season 1 it felt like Ning Que and Ye Hong Yu were devolping some great chemistry when Ye Hong Yu started to hang around with Ning Que. It looks like the whole court's family cast was changed as well except the younger brother. The 7th sister is also a new actress. This just feels like a new show now with all these cast changes.
I felt the same way. Zoey Meng is so pretty, they would be a great couple for season 2. Oh well, let see how this will turn out. I'm thinking the change some main actors and actresses because the producers can't afford them anymore. Lol
FAILED!! When will they learn. Never split a story into 2 seasons if your going to change leading characters..... Such a sad failure. The new characters can not get into the character the way the last actor portrayed it... the lack of the passion and reverences is lost in the first 3 min..... to bad!
I felt the same way but I don’t think it was their fault because Arthur has conflicting schedules with another drama. Plus I loved that they used Arthur’s real voice and then the dubbed voice of Dylan’s didn’t do it for me.
I’ll be honest, I’m absolutely fine with Dylan taking over the role. What I’m not okay with though is that Arthur left Ever Night for another drama that I feel was not worth his time, and the new Emperor feels SUPER OFF. Like Dylan at least tried to get the original NQ essence, but the new emperor speaks wayyyyy too fast with too much enthusiasm but not enough confidence.
Dylang Wang is an excellent actor you have made a very good decision. He really connect the feelings it is amazing the way he projects every emotion. I would like the serie with subtitles in english or spanish. Congratulations.

My favorite thing about this drama is the relationship between the 13 students, they are so supportive.

第一季片头：啊，这些人，nice！第二季片头：基本已经是贡献了最精湛的截图，除了片头啥都不用看了。。。
終於看完了全劇，二十幾到三十幾集的劇情還可以，不過結尾爛透。以下劇透勿看：男主完全失敗，跟第一季完全不是一個人物性格和氣質。葉紅魚爛（讓花痴演葉紅魚會更好），隆慶沒有存在感，導演爛，剪輯爛，邏輯爛，戰爭場面超爛，明明十幾人的鏡頭就說成幾千人。我說導演，如果你有技術的話十幾人是真的可以拍得像幾千人的！可惜你是個廢柴。掌教樣子配不上職位。皇帝親征的理由莫名其妙。夫子死得莫名其妙。驚神陣恢復得莫名其妙。全劇最亮點是三師姐（第三十集），不過三師姐您一個可以秒殺劍聖的魔君為什麼不去幫君陌呢。大師兄拖7天的邏輯莫名其妙。昊天小美女是徹底要寧缺出軌碾壓桑桑的存在。山山和寧缺第一季讓人感覺的是真真實實的鍾情，第二季是獨角癡呆。觀主被廢氣海雪山還可以遙傷葉紅魚是什麼邏輯。葉紅魚這是算跳崖嗎？結局沒有結果。
人家妄想还有第三季啊。。。。。

The lead guy hasn't pass my litmus test yet, but I like the plot already and I'm going to tuff it through until I can get over fact that there are new actors there. I don't like the new king, his acting doesn't have the emotional face like the king in EN1, but it's still early. And the princess doesn't have that"thing" like the princess in EN1. But again, it's still early. I'm glad to see Chen Pin Pin still here. So far, the action is good. The cinematography doesn't have that rich authenticness like EN1. But I'm glad season 2 is here and will continue to post my opinions as a fan of the show. Be Blessed Yall!

@@reemcont It seems the original actor signed a contract for a different series when a second season for Ever Night hadn't been confirmed yet. It took a long time to confirm season 2 and by that time the original actor could not go back because of the other series.

这个宁缺看着有点肥嘟嘟的，哈哈。 觉得叶红鱼的眼神还不够凶，皇后 和公主没有原来的漂亮， 也少了气势。 不过还是很期待后面的发展， 希望越来越好看。

I loved both seasons and both actors who played Ning Que did great. Season one was leaning towards world building, storytelling, character development and introduction of characters and their titles and their sects plus their interests and capabilities . The story gets more intense and intresting but it's not the end of it. I hope they will bring the final season.
But from ep 4 to the end no english subtitles in session 1 so I jumped to session 2 😭😭😭

可能先入为主，我还是觉得原汁原味的比较好，两部电视剧连着看，将夜2，我怎么一开始就有点看不下去了……
个人觉得电视剧如果第一部拍得好，之后要拍第二三部最好不要换人马，毕竟演员的变动，让这部剧失色不少…
Arthur Chen's acting and voice was a key reason that hooked me into Ever Night and he's gone in season 2. Zoey Meng is also no longer cast as Ye Hong Yu which isn't great. Those last couple episodes of season 1 it felt like Ning Que and Ye Hong Yu were devolping some great chemistry when Ye Hong Yu started to hang around with Ning Que. It looks like the whole court's family cast was changed as well except the younger brother. The 7th sister is also a new actress. This just feels like a new show now with all these cast changes.
I felt the same way. Zoey Meng is so pretty, they would be a great couple for season 2. Oh well, let see how this will turn out. I'm thinking the change some main actors and actresses because the producers can't afford them anymore. Lol

FAILED!! When will they learn. Never split a story into 2 seasons if your going to change leading characters..... Such a sad failure. The new characters can not get into the character the way the last actor portrayed it... the lack of the passion and reverences is lost in the first 3 min..... to bad!

I felt the same way but I don’t think it was their fault because Arthur has conflicting schedules with another drama. Plus I loved that they used Arthur’s real voice and then the dubbed voice of Dylan’s didn’t do it for me.

I’ll be honest, I’m absolutely fine with Dylan taking over the role.
What I’m not okay with though is that Arthur left Ever Night for another drama that I feel was not worth his time, and the new Emperor feels SUPER OFF. Like Dylan at least tried to get the original NQ essence, but the new emperor speaks wayyyyy too fast with too much enthusiasm but not enough confidence.
What drama did he left for?
