Brilliant video as always Charlie! All your videos are so informative, no frills, no waffle (figuratively speaking) and just basic common sense. Your whole attitude is wonderful and helpful

Great to see you with a dog that hasn’t stayed with you from a pup, really useful thank you 😊

Another lovely looking pup. As you say, he looks to have been allowed to set a lot of his own boundaries and in 2 weeks time, he will be a different boy. Have a lovely Christmas.

Great to see. Cheers Charlie. We aren’t getting a gundog, we’re in the process of adopting a 1.5y GSD x Lab (never had a home, born and lived in shelters all her life). We’ve had labs in the past, but it’s been years since I had to start from scratch. Your videos and overall attitude have been so helpful.
Great to see your channel grow.
Looking forward to seeing your channel continue to grow. More people need to watch these.
    Here’s to the next chapter.

Very honest video. And shows very typical young cocker behaviour for those people thinking of getting one for the first time. Too many trainers on YT edit them to show (almost) perfect drills - so thank you for ' keeping it real' as they say.

I have to remind myself I'm flat broke every time I watch your videos, otherwise I'd have a puppy.

Brilliant video for me! We’ve just bought a Labrador- he’s 10 weeks old, in the house as opposed to our other spaniels in our kennel. I am surprised how energetic, bitey and selectively deaf he is at this young age, and I’ve been wondering if he should be kennelled and trained first and then allowed indoors - rather than expecting him not to be spoiled by the many opportunities for independence and bad habits in doors. This video kind of answers my question. I’d rather a waffle than a mick 😆👍

Amazing my friend! That's a wonderful idea 1 vs 10 years! My puppy corso is 7 months old today and I hope she can be off leash, but she's a Corso, so maybe with me on the farm...😃

This is so helpful. This is my 6 month old springer. I got him at 12 weeks and he was feral … he’s so much better but when on long lead he doesn’t pay attention and would take off if off lead. It’s terrifying. I keep him on. But this video is so helpful to see another similar dog. Gives me hope. Mine is on lead as there’s no way I’d get a successful off lead situation presently.
These videos that show challenging puppies in training are so helpful.

"A year on the lead.. ..." even though I don't let my dog, who's 2.5 now, run around everywhere without a lead on, when he is off lead he's never far away and when I call him he comes. The first 2 years of his life he was either on a slip lead or a long line and I think that really helped with him not moving far away from me now. Very glad I did that.
Really like your videos, keep up the good work!

Good to know. 15 month old independent lab mostly on lead or long line in controlled space when I know there are no other dogs/people around as can't be trusted not to rush over to say hello and won't come back to me. Hope he'll prefer to be with me eventually!

Absolutely tremendous video. I really liked that quote ‘a year on the lead, 10 years off the lead’. Does this mean off the lead only in very bland and maybe fenced training areas?
Anyway, what a helpful video again.

He's absolutely gorgeous. It's also refreshing to see he's not doing perfect (obviously not when he hasn't been in consistent training, has only just arrived etc) because I feel like many trainers out there make it look so easy with every dog... I don't think it's realistic at all, much rather watch this type of content and someone who's fine with not being perfect right away x

Hi Charlie, Great video. With reference to your lead analogy about the time on a lead. I was at a country game show a few years ago where they had a Gundog training clinic with a Professional trainer giving tips and advice, one of which was " The first year off the lead, 10 years on it" What do you think ? Cheers Charlie, looking forward to your next video.

Hey Charlie I’ve just brought home a cocker 8 weeks old had her for 3 days now and I’m finding that she’s not really listening or paying attention to me and only has an attention span for about 10sec when trying to train her name, am I expecting too much for a short amount of time. Loving the videos all the way from Sydney Australia 👍

Great comparison between the two dogs & wonderful to see the colour difference between the litter. What colour were the ‘parents’?

So interesting to see what happens…. We have an exact replica working cocker…… that needs the same guidance!
