Most Chinese distinguish fish (鱼) from meat (肉). My last fridge had a freezer with 2 compartments labelled 'fish' and 'meat'. In biblical times, fish was called the poor man's meat. Btw, salmon is classified under red meat as it has much more blood vessels than the white meat fish.
In Argentina the term "carne" means meat, flesh, but we use it by default to refer to beef, we dont specify that its obtained from cows, while we use different terms for other types of meat like "pollo" (chicken) "cerdo" (pork) or "pescado" (fish)

In Morocco, we have the same meaning of meat as in English. It can mean red meat, chicken, or fish, but people usually use the word meat for red meat.

In Sweden red meat means only beef or veal not pork.

Venison originally meant the meat of a game animal but now refers primarily to the meat of deer or antelope.

We call red meat for beef and lamb and white meat for chicken and turkey or fish in Persian. meat = "GOSHT"

Hey Mark, thanks for your meat lesson. I have learned some new words like game, mutton.... . In general, I love eating meat. Beef, pork, chicken and fish. I had a lot of yummy fish these days (greetings from Fuerteventura 😎. Great weather, sunny and warm here 🌞). But I avoid eating lamp and calf because it's not necessary to kill a baby animal because of me. Never mind, I don't want to you a bad conscience. 🙄

The funny fact is that English books (for second-language students) use sentences like "Do you prefer meat or fish?" in their teaching program. Some of my students (they seem to be smarter than the textbooks' authors) ask me: "Isn't fish meat? Isn't chicken meat?" You know, sometimes it's hard not to be critical.
Depend on the talking, you don't need to use meat for everything, and the word is usually for red meat.
I have never eaten venison before . I do prefer lamb and mutton , especially when you experience the Arabian nights 😂 as they grill the sheep or goat as a whole btw i have never experienced that before😢

Hello, red meat is just refered as you say beef, etc, other food as vegetables, white beans, cereals , dry fruits are also good for health.would you be able to kill a cow or any animal to feed Mark? I think I couldn't 😢😢😢. We need to eat less of all meats, maybe I eat more chicken, poor veels, lambs etc...They feel when they are going to die and cry, my God
I eat rarelly hamburguers, but I am everyday more vegetarian

I'm curious which kind does the dog meat refer to?🫢And now my train of thought turns the wrong way and I'm thinking of slugs, frogs, bugs etc which are successfully eaten in different cultures.
