Living down in Orlando and going to the parks whenever (knowing you can just come back tomorrow or next week) can afford you the pleasure of discovering all these wonderful side adventures. It's nice to see the little corners of the park that vacations don't give you enough time to check out.
I’m actually going to Magic Kingdom on the 22nd! It’s my first time visiting a Disney park during the holiday season. I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for the crowd levels and lines but I’m so excited!
We were there the same day you were. We felt the crowd was higher than normal for this time of year, on a very Merry Christmas day. 3 years ago we were there on a very Merry Christmas day and the park was fairly empty. We rode many rides twice and didn't need to use the fast passes. Talking to others, they felt the crowd was higher than normal. Typically the first two weeks of December are slow weeks for DW.
We agree - we were there on Sunday at MK before the Very Merry party and it was light just like your time. We loved walking around - it was a great time to go :)
One of the best times to ride 7 Dwarves Mine Train is during the fireworks! I rode it while the fireworks were going of and it was absolutely beautiful. That and the fact that your whipping through the track and rocking back and forth made it a pretty great experience!
lol, that's my torso at 2:40! I was so excited that I saw you, but I'm still so embarrassed with my reaction. 'oh my God, it's Tim! Hey!!!' then walking as fast as I could in the opposite direction.
I agree, Country Bears are indeed the best meet & greet characters I wish they had more characters do that, like over in DL where you see Alice & Mad Hatter walking around through the crowds. I understand why they don't, it's a population thing and don't want the cast members overwhelmed, but still there's gotta be some low-end characters you can do that with like the bears (no offense bears, you guys are the best ♥)
On one of our past trips, my girls ran into the evil stepsisters while they were walking through the park. They began following us around while teasing everyone around us. They ended up riding the carousel with our girls and spent a good 10-15 minutes with us. Nothing like that has happened to us since but it remains one of our favorite Disney memories.

If this video was on Tuesday, it was FREEZING and my kiddo suckered me into riding Splash Mountain three times! It’s his favorite ride. And they turned off all of the extra splash elements on the ride. We barely got wet at all! 😊
Another great vid today Tim. I believe a lot of the Cast Members will be working at the party plus on light days Disney cuts staffing therefore capacity at the rides so even on quiet days there can be big wait times 😁
When I went with my 6 year old in 2012 we LOVED the pager system for Dumbo so he could play while we waited “in line,” it was perfect!!! I hope more rides are designed this way or a modification of this idea in the future!!
Weee! "Did a grown man just say weee?", says my wife. As I was scrolling through some UA-cam vids my kids kept saying Go to Tim, I want to watch Tim! Love you guys. Hope to see you next trip
Thanks for the video Tim! From what I've understood, on days with less crowds the attractions run with less CM so the waiting times are almost as long as on a heavily crowded day...
These wait times are much longer than when I went to the Christmas party! I’m so happy I went to one, it was because of your channel and watching videos on them! We went Sunday the 2nd and walked onto jingle cruise, pirates, small world, Swiss family. Had less than 10 min wait for haunted mansion, little mermaid. Less than 25 minute for Peter Pan, thunder mountain, meeting Moana Rapunzel and Tiana. We would have rode 7 dwarves but it was shut down. But besides that we rode everything we wanted to. The longest wait in the park was space mountain which was consistently around 50 min. We will be going back for sure next year!
I work at Dumbo and barnstormer and you can definitely see more of the Tron constructions from the barn queue. You should check it out next time your in magic kingdom.
I've been to the Happily Ever After dessert party a few times and there are only the cheeseburger spring rolls,obviously along with lots of other Disney sweet treats!
I got to see you on that day! it was quite cold x.x But, the crowd levels didn't seem so crazy as I thought that it would be,honestly~ X3 (Oh and I had the Maleficent ears on) I hope your day was awesome!
My mom and I went to Disney world one year for Christmas. We were in the parks Christmas Day. It was the most beautiful place ever with all the decorations but I will never do it again because of the amount of people. I remember I took a picture in animal kingdom of the amount of people and it was shoulder to shoulder from one side of the path to the other and it just stretched all the way down
For us, if we didn’t know about Very Merry, we would not have known the park closed early, and that would’ve been upsetting. On Sunday, the crowds were high, and we were kind of surprised except that maybe it was because it was a weekend day. But once we got to Very Merry in the evening, everything was great!!
I would! Before we started watching vlogs on Disney, I never heard of any of the parties that Disney has during the holidays. We have been to Disney multiple times during the Christmas season and never knew of Very Merry. If someone books, doesn’t have park hopper and decides to go to the park and has to leave early because of a party that they didn’t know about, yeah they’d be ticked too. Some people get so excited about just being able to go to Disney that they don’t know of or miss all of the extras. But thanks for pointing that out 😒
ahluvdrums thanks, it kind of does have to do with the parties. We are fortunate to visit the parks a couple of times a year, I learn about new things everytime we go. For some, a trip to Disney is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I never once blamed Disney, and yes it would be my fault not to know how if I was careful at planning. I’m just pointing out that there is so much more that Disney offers that things can be missed and overlooked and how that can be frustrating if you aren’t aware.
ahluvdrums oh I get your point, that yes without proper planning, you can miss out and be frustrated and it’s no one’s fault but you’re own, I get that. Disney is a learning process, glad that we have the opportunity to find out about new things every time we go - it’s what keeps us coming back! You should take your knowledge and apply it to good use, like become a travel agent! Although, you might want to work on interpersonal skills a bit, beating the dead horse repeatedly doesn’t make for great customer relations. Wish you the best!

we were there last week. We rode Splash Mountain, Ripsaw falls the popeye ride, and jurassic park. I would definitely ride splash mountain again on a cold day. You barely get very wet. The Universal rides on the other hand were insane. I would never ride those again unless it was 90 and sunny.

If you check out Touring Plans you can see that Magic Kingdom is at a 5 or lower on those days. We were just there on Sunday (granted it was pouring in the morning) but when it stopped , the crowd wasn't that bad in the afternoon. We were at magic kingdom yesterday too! So sad we missed you! I was very surprised at the crowd level.. I felt it was super crowded for mid-December and being a party night. We attended the party as well and felt it was very crowded.. still had a great time though. We spent the night at Hollywood studios tonight and had very light crowds

At the HEA Dessert Parties - just the cheeseburger spring rolls . They are mini ones. No bacon mac and cheese ones. But for the dessert party where you sit down at watch at Tomorrowland Terrace, they also gave me a bag of about 25 squares of Ghiradelli chocolates. Cool.
Pushing a wheel chair threw that new space mountain exit sucks a lot. It’s extremely difficult I had to help my sister by using the wheels while she pushed
We were at Magic Kingdom yesterday too! We went for the day and did the Christmas party after. We thought the park would be less crowded during the day but we were wrong. And the party afterwards was packed! Extremely hard to move around the park with a double stroller and a single one too.
I’m going to Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Magic Kingdom next wednesday for my birthday. I know its goingn to be busy but fingers crossed it wont be HORRIBLE
I think one of the reasons that seven dwarves is always so crowded is because either a its one of the newest rides or b because it kind of mixes roller coaster and dark ride.
Another tim tracker video two days in a row. Its my birthday I must be dreaming. I haven't been to walt disney world since 2001 on a family vacation. We went to Disneyland at the end of April of this year but didnt see everything.

I went to MK in 2017 on day of Halloween party. It was NOT Crowded at all!! Hopefully it will b the same in 2020.
