    One of the best videos Ive seen. Short, straight to the point, yet full of knowledge. How do you determine the BPM of the beat you're creating and how do you feel about chopping samples into quarter notes?

    cool so when you chop a sample and pitch it up do you only pitch it up in semi tones? or do you use cents as well. Im asking because if you pitch it up by cents then it wont match a standard piano as far as pitch, just curious about that thanks

    • @DJPain1
      @DJPain1 10 років тому

      I only use cents for samples that are out of tune.

    • @BLAZINBEATS123
      @BLAZINBEATS123 10 років тому +1

      DJ Pain 1 ok I see very cool , and my last question is do you chop with any time stretching to match your tempo or do you base the tempo on the samples bpm? peace!

    The beat is so detailed. I still don't understand how you do all of this in sony acid. I've only ever used acid to track things. It's so odd to me!

    • @djsaltbeats
      @djsaltbeats 10 років тому +2

      It woulda not been odd if it was fruity loops huh?? It aint what you use, its the brains behind the beat...

    • @DJPain1
      @DJPain1 10 років тому +2

      ***** Not at all. I can name about 15 smash hit songs that were made with FL, pop, edm and hip-hop.

    • @djsaltbeats
      @djsaltbeats 10 років тому

      DJ Pain 1 I was just telling him that you can make some hot shit in Acid also. he thought it was weird. So i said it would have not been weird to him if you were using FL studios. yes Fl is a monster, but its not what you use its the persons brains that makes hot shit

    • @RayRayBeats
      @RayRayBeats 10 років тому +1

      ***** bro i don't JUST use fruity loops. If you check my channel you'll see that i have a firrm grasp on FL, Reason, Ableton Live, ALL the tracking features in sony acid, Aaudacity and a few other DAWs. I host highest rated Reason 5 Beginners tutorial on youtube on my channel too. Clowning on me gains you nothing.

      ***** When i first started making beats when i was like 14, i used Sonic Foundry acid. I would record like 2 minutes of me playing drums on a casio keyboard, then go back and dub two minutes of keys on top of it, then go back and dub two minutes of bass on it etc. Once my older brother put me onto sequencing software i never looked back. I think my first sequencing software was propellerhead ReBirth.
