really cool to see Damo as support! that is comradery personified
I am out of breath watching this. John you are a machine!
I cannot imagine what it was going through his mind in the final moments after that descent. So much grit and determination. I think that the idea of being back with his family was one of the most powerful reasons to finish. For them and for him, and finally able to get that well deserved rest.
Amazing achievement John!
John Kelly is a truly humble man. This was a great inspiration.
You sir are a bloody legend, I thought the Barkley marathon was impressive!!!!
Inspiring emotional humbling thank you John for showing us all that we are capable of great things. Bravo Sir.
Beside the sheer limit of this endeavor, John’s statements about using and exceeding g our gifts and expectations in all areas of life impressed me most
Great film. Epic achievement. Such a humble guy...
Whow, what a legend! John, you humble, inconspicuous beast! Great film, thank you.
John started his run on Sunday 16 August 2020 and finished on Friday 21 August 2020 in a total time of 5 days, 10 hours and 43 minutes (130:43). Fantastic.
When I was a child I dreamed I’m was Mickey Mantle. As an Old Man (68) I dream I’m a Ultra Runner. People like John, Courtney, Dylan and many more like me motivated to keep running. When I’m injured or feeling my age. I’ll watch one of these videos or listen to a Podcast and I can’t wait to get back out there.
Probably the best video of it’s type that I’ve seen. Not only an amazing achievement but John’s words about challenges, the sweet spot and motivation rings true with me too. Martin Stone’s words at the end were very touching too.
So inspiring. I am planning a Bob Graham for next summer and didn't realise how small minded I was being. I cried liked a baby when I finished a 100- miler last year and can't believe how together he was at the end! Serious respect
I cried like a baby at the end of a 50k race, it’s all relative I guess! That was the furthest I had ever run at the time…
Unreal video. His explanation of how he got to running this event is so spot on. John is an amazing athlete
John, you are going to be a GREAT father !!!!! YOU sir have been MY inspiration ever since you won Barkeley ... GREAT, GREAT FILM.... JUST AWESOME.
Fantastic documentary, big up John Kelly legend in distance running
An amazing feat of endurance and grit. Thanks for sharing 👌 😊
If the average human outer edge is somewhere on earth, John Kelly’s is somewhere in a galaxy far far away. Incredible achievement and a huge inspiration as I seek my own outer edge (currently shooting for R2R2R in 2021).
EXCEPTIONAL. A great physical and logistical feat and fantastic doco. Well done all.
This is so inspirational and beautifully filmed. Well done to John on an awesome achievement.
listened to John on a podcast yesterday with James Elson whilst i ran 100 miles, and was desperate to get back and watch this. Brilliant documentary full of inspiration - well done John Kelly, so true the words you used about setting the bar.
John is truly amazing. Congratulations to him and to his support crew.
Just so inspiring. Great film.
Incredible talent! What a champion
Awesome, just bloody Awesome.
Thank you for this documentary. Let’s keep pushing our indivitual limits.
John, ive been following your racing since your first Barkley win. You’re determination is incredible.
Speechless. This is without a doubt - no , iam simply speechless. 😊🏃♂️🏃♂️
Brilliant film, what a great story and what an unbelievably savage challenge!
Fantastic film
Staggering and inspiring. What a trail blazer. Everyone can take something from this.
bonkers. thanks for the ride
Stumbled across this vid, delightfully surprised to hear he lives in Bristol as I do to
John Kelly is one of the best to ever do it. And so unnoticed
I am unable to run but have done a fair amount of extreme marathon swimming - John is certainly someone I admire and enjoy listening to his views on endurance sport in general (and how he cracked the Berkley in particular). Hope our paths meet one day - comes across as a top geezer.
Great film. Fantastic effort John
I knew he was made differently from the Barkley documentaries but this is something else. What a feat of physical and mental endurance. Hard to imagine what it takes
Amazing, inspiring achievement.
What a legend! fantastic 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Loved that! Inspirational! Well done John!! 👍👏
Truly inspirational - remarkable story, beautifully told. Well done John, and all the team supporting this incredible achievement!
Well done for your achievement!!
You are a inspiration for everyone !
What a great film. Enjoyed recounting this after following the tracker at the time of the Grand Round. Epic
A great watch. Dread to think the mental games John had to deal with. The filming and production was top notch. Congrats 🥳
Great job with the film & a huge well done to John, he seems such a nice humble guy. Hopefully he'll get chance to do the Mark Rigby round at some point 👍🏃
Apart from the incredible achievement, that's a steezy looking bike
Incredible. Just incredible. What an achievement and so humble with it too. Beautifully documented as well.
What a legend!!!!!!
Legend
You
Are
Inspiring ...... simply the best !!!
Just amazing. Thank you for this.
What a great film about an extraordinary man.
Wow , amazing feat of strength ,endurance ,and what a humble person .. God bless ❤
Incredible. Just incredible.
This is such an incredible video. Such an inspirational piece.
Amazing achievement John!!
Great film. A really interesting and inspirational guy.
Brilliant 👏👊
That was great!
Inspiring, an absolutely amazing.
John Kelly you are a living legend! ❤
Amazing accomplishment.
Amazing.
Great video, well done!!
For many people, even a 10k run is hard. Your feat is incredible
absolutely wild!
Incredible!
1:25 the secret stash haha
What a video!
If I had 4 kids I’d start doing 600 miles races 😂😂Respect though - good effort!
Great film and a great achievement. UA-cam, please learn to put the next video insets away from the credits. A bit unfair on those names I cannot read…
Thank You 🙏
Also I was wondering at what point he adds swimming into his challenges 😉
22:15, the legend that is Gary Tompsett.
Suggestion for John: add a swim over to northern Ireland and add the Dennis Rankin round and then cycle down to Wicklow and do he wicklow round 😳
I think you have something there, the "Utra-Ultra-Ultra-man". Run 5 rounds, bike 1000 miles, swim from Mull of Kinyre to Ballycastle, all in 7 days. Epic.
Different gravy!!!
His crew carrying luggage and still doing it. They deserve it too
Interested to know the 18 people who dislike this video. Maybe they’re scared to seek their true potential, and so disliking this makes them feel less of a failure 🤷♂️
Hey- if John's fundraising is still open can you post a link in the description pls? :-) Thanks!
It's still live www.justgiving.com/fundraising/hartleyslam?fbclid=IwAR3LrXWtiIWlmlfSPaHyFXdbnn-Jyb98wQgTZfDD2-JtkUBj9jAETP4UE44. We will also add to the description. Thank you.
A small correction: Scafell isn't England's highest summit, Scafell Pike is.
I know I CAN do most of the things I challenge myself to do. The question is, how WELL can I do them. I've hikes 3,000 miles but how many miles can I do in one month? Even at 66 years old I keep getting faster little bits at a time and I did not even start hiking till I was 63. But I wont do anything that's likely to break my body. Not at my age. I want to keep at it as LONG as I can not break myself doing one event. I love hiking but it's not the most important thing in life. I like trail running so that's my next goal . . . to do a half marathon. I can already run/walk a half marathon but I would like to run the whole thing and I don't care what the time will be on the first try. I could not run more than 50 yards last year, now I can run a mile or two (depending on terrain) non stop.
Pro tip dont skip arms and chest day.
What do i do NOW ?
Attempt a sub 4day Pennine Way.
The only way this documentary could be improved is even more adverts
el muro de Adriano es ese?
Does anyone know name of the watch John is wearing?
Coros Vertix apparently - www.runultra.co.uk/Articles/November-2020/Interview-with-John-Kelly-COROS-Pro-Athlete-Ambass
Why didn’t they wait for a week of perfect weather to do this? Does that not ever exist in England?
The challenge also includes Wales (Paddy Buckley) & Scotland (Ramsey), so definitely no such thing as a week of perfect weather.
The strange thing about this is 6 people felt the need to give this a thumbs down. I can only assume its kids with parents devices making random clicks or utter morons.
@@randyholloway920 Ok, please enlighten us. I'm guessing you're one who disliked it? Not after an online war here - we're all entitled to our opinions, just genuinely curious what the reason was?
This week we're joined by Mariah Carey, Nadiya Hussain, Tim Peake, Richard Osman and Gary Barlow! #TheGNShow
Amazing guy. His legs structures are not suitable to be good runner but he did it.
"He needs to avoid tripping and falling." haha
So what was his time
Just in case you didn't see other comment on this: John started his run on Sunday 16 August 2020 and finished on Friday 21 August 2020 in a total time of 5 days, 10 hours and 43 minutes (130:43).
@@THERUNSHOW That's unreal! I'm a Kelly from Scotland who runs. Love hearing about John Kellys exploits, such physical and mental strength thatboy has.
How does this 13 year old boy have four kids?
With a big pacer like that I might be able to do it to. Try solo
If you think John is a legend !! How about we talk about Emile Zatopek- ?
too many ads. 4 ads in 5 minutes, i'm out...
19:05 .... but it doesn't have to be self destructive in the process. Actually there should be a focus on non harm. Try to see how much love you can fathom in the span of 5 days instead of how much you can beat your legs up. How much good can you squeeze into a week? How much peace? Mhm... hope you'll see the folly of your current course one day ..
Poor character displayed when he insulted the female record holder of the Spine race. Poor sport, misogynist.
Someone pointed me to this, and while I would normally ignore trolls, you've come here to post slander on a video of one of my proudest moments that I hope will be here to view for many years to come. Jasmin and I are highly supportive of one another and I have never been anything but complimentary and in awe of her incredible achievements including her Spine performance (*the* record, period). I honestly have no idea what I could have said that you could even twist into that comment. I'm not sure who you are or what you're angry about, but I truly hope you find some means of lifting yourself up rather than using baseless internet attacks to try to bring down people you obviously know nothing about.
4 children...stopped watching.
Brilliant film, what a great story and what an unbelievably savage challenge!
Amazing. Anything with John Kelly gets a like from me, he could just be sat eating his dinner and I'll be content. Such a humble man and I've been a fan ever since I first heard of him falling out of the trees with a bin bag on at the barkley's.
