The Godzilla that started it all is finally apart of the S.H. Monsterarts line. In this review, Steve goes over the S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla 1954 from Bandai and Tamashii Nations. This is based off of his appearance in the film Gojira, which was released in 1954 and in 1956 as Godzilla, King of the Monsters in the US. Please enjoy.

You know for the suit that was so inflexible the right arm couldnt even move, this is a really flexible figure. X)
Yeah. I found it wierd that the figure is surprisingly well articulated when it was based on a suit that was hard to move

I prefer MonsterArts 54 more over Neca's, but Neca still have the accurate details.

The neca makes it look like a guy in a monster suit like in the movie. S.H. MonsterArts tries to make him look like a real monster

Gojira! My favorite overall Godzilla movie so far. Dark? Yes. Sad? Yes. Amazing work of fiction focusing on horrible, yet true historic events? You bet! I got 2019(KotM) Goji, I cannot wait to get this one! The 2019 being my first Monsterarts fig, I'm surprised how loose some joints are and how tight the others feel. Also I try to stand him straight up, but his tail falls down since it's so loose. And his right leg looks like it's out of place or something, maybe they just made it so he has to hunch a bit? It doesn't look bad, but I thought he'd be able to stand straight.
I went to IMDB and someone gave it a 3, saying it was boring and dull, I said "Um....Are you sure you are watching the right movie?

Most movies from the 1960s or before are very different from today's movies in terms of filming techniques and pacing. But you just can't beat the classic that started it all.

This was the gift that my dad gave me my all wanted Godzilla 1954
well the original breath looked more like smoke ro fog, SMOG!
This is my favorite version by far and this will be the last one I get because imo, this version of 1954 is as screen accurate as it gets.
I remember watching this movie as a kid. That movie scared the crap out of me.

My 1954 is scheduled to arrive in either January or February because hes coming from Japan and I feel bad for GMK but he has me as a fan

It looks really good I have the N.E.C.A version and its my favorite godzilla in my collection although it does have problems like the paint likes to chip off on mine real easy and no derp eyes and even though nothing is wrong with any of my bendy tails on them I am kinda afraid that it will break so I don't move it that much but if I get enough money I may or may not get this one.

well really like your review on Godzilla but like so many others you never told us the exact height of the Neca Godzilla vs S&H monster arts we would like to hear that or I would..the height and length of both Gorillas ..in inches and not in centimeters or millimeters but in inches only and would also like to know where to buy all the little buildings and cars for Godzilla that would be great... so I hope I get a response to this message that will let me know if I should keep my subscription with you and drop all the others because that is what I am going by who responds quicker... and lastly I wonder if sh MonsterArts or Neca views these reviews that are on UA-cam about their product of Godzilla

Mecharex20 thats my second favorite my first favorite godzilla is from godzilla against mechagodzilla and tokyo sos and i might actually wait till neca or s.h monsterarts make godzilla from godzilla against mechagodzilla or tokyo sos which one might have great posesability and ima get kiryu from godzilla against mechagodzilla cause its the best mechagodzilla design than tokyo sos so i made me a list

you should get an x plus version. The gigantic version is on sale at Hobbylink Japan right now.
It's not my personal favorite suit so I don't really need an X-plus of it. The Gigantic is pretty cool though.

Another great figure review. Do you think the SHMA 1954 is better than the 2001 because I don't know which to get first.
I like the GMK more. He is a larger figure and is closer to what you see in the film. The 1954 I would only recommend it over that one is if you like the suit more.
I love the 1954 suit but if I had to pick one it would be the 2002 Godzilla suit because it looks just the 2000 Godzilla did but given a different color and look the 2002 Godzilla suit is Badass if you ask me.

Can u play with these figures or will they break
They are not really meant to be actually played with. You are just suppose to pose them how you want and then display them. They generally have lots of little parts that can be broken with any sort of roughness.

I know I just got 2 amazing sh monsterarts figures but I need that. (The main reason is that the one normal Godzilla that I have has a tail that keeps falling off)

He was released in Japan. So if you had it preordered on sites like AmiAmi or Hobbylink Japan, it will show up sooner then on stateside sites

Honestly, I like them both, although I prefer NECA's version. Mainly because I just thought that the SH seemed a little wonky and goofy looking, still really good, but I wouldn't buy it (frankly I have the NECA version XP).
True the SHMA Godzilla looks good but it doesn’t looks as accurate as NECA’s

But right now the only S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla I want is the rebirth version cause its the cheapest one I can find and at 3:15 he cant help it after one long day of destroying Tokyo also at 5:32 he is smiling that there using weapons that don't hurt him they tickle him so there is one explanation for his little smile :)

Damn, everyone says that the Neca is better in terms of scale because its bigger, but the original 1954 Godzilla is the shortest Godzilla, so its actually more accurate to buy the SH. MONSTERARTS Godzilla.
