Saint pepsi brought me here I've been playing this all weekend i had to grow into the original version after a couple of plays im a Dj so i can slow the whole track down speed like he did and enjoying these last days in 2023 going in 2024 this should of been on GTAuto vice city.its a dope track form the 80's. Oh that's right I'm an 80'$ baby 87represent.
GReading Morris' "Fast Forward" bio and he references this video. Not heard this tune since back in the day, cheers Stephen. Check out his book, funking hilarious! Fact. Forever.
Crazy to think the lead singer (Diane Charlemagne) was the outstanding vocalist on Goldies 'Inner city life ', one of the best D&B tracks of all time. Along with other Goldie tracks she also worked with Moby and others. She passed in 2015. RIP Diane, your beautiful voice is missed ❤
I remember trying to dance to this one Friday night at Fac 51 The Hacienda. And giving up after about 8 bars because it was just too fast to dance to when you aren't a particularly good dancer (pre E, when it was a quid for a can of Stella nights. And I'd wobble about after half a dozen cans). But I remember the proper dancers like Foot Patrol who hung around in there could do really good synchronised routines to tunes like this and make it look completely improvised and effortless. I've often wondered what those people thought once ecstasy took off and everyone danced all night whether they could dance well or not?
now they sound like frauds... just slowing down the music, minimal or non existent mixing, and brand it with their own name instead of calling it a remix
I wonder how much that rack of AMS delays and reverbs in Strawberry Studios in the thumbnail cost back then? And what they'd cost to buy today? There was a time when all that early digital stuff was going for peanuts, but they're extremely collectible and expensive these days.
I don't know where they were going with this video. Even for the 80's I just do know. Living in the states and listening to a lot of alternative new wave british bands this one is strange. I kinda like the beat and the singer has some promise but that's it.
House before house? If you were going to the right nightclubs ( SLAGS, The Lift ), you will understand why. Even though at the time they called it garage. In 1986 Garage was slang for New York House. Chicago House was at that time called Jackin House. A dub version of this track was re-released in 1986 when certain djs Jazzy M/ LWR started playing it. Wasn't it funny (or not), certain famous djs being dismissive and jumping on the bandwagon when house began to take over or was it because in the UK like America,if you wanted to hear what became known as house music, you had to go to the black gay clubs.

Man why do all 80s music videos look like they were fun as hell to produce
I know what you mean :) Same goes to most 80s cinema (especially action movies)
After a shit couple of days, discovering this gem while on my walk has healed me
Saint Pepsi brought me here. Flash of New Order's Stephen Morris at 3.44. Cool they worked on other Factory releases. Happy family.
Love the fusion of New Order beat with soul vocals

produced by Stephen Morris of New Order ;-)
That 25 second intro is something to be reckoned with!
New Order's Stephen Morris can be seen here, sitting by the mixing desk in some of the studio scenes. Him and Gillian produced the track.
Those Toyotas were cool cars back in the day
They still are
one of the best group from uk british next to legendary group loose ends
Masterpiece !!!! Love You Diane !!!!

Oof
Oof why is this sped up so much? :/
Brittnie Fuller Because, if you can believe this, THIS IS THE ORIGINAL FUCKING SPEED.
80s soul synth pop
Terrible video though. Cows, kids, clubs, cars, countryside, it’s all over the shop. Wish I could buy the story board for this
A real audible mess but a charming track.
