You're the reason I've just started my channel, and have gotten back into fishing for the first time as an adult from not so sunny england. Going fishing next week to start off my journey as a novice bushcrafter/angler!
Discovered your channel by chance. First video I saw was riding out typhoon Debbie so it was obviously different than the rest to say the least. I’ve been really enjoying your channel! I was lucky enough to visit Australia in June of 2000 and your channel is a great way to “visit” again from my couch in Nashville Tennessee. I do a bit of kayak fishing, but now I feel like I need to up my game haha. Thanks for the awesome videos. Very inspiring and entertaining. 👍🏻
Thank you, I’m sure I get a lot of subscribers from that video and like you say it’s very different to my other videos but I’ve made the mistake of taking videos down before and it’s very bad for my channel.
It really felt like I was following Andy when he said “follow me this way” 😂. I love when you predict where the fish are, I find it so cool & satisfying . You’re amazing Andy. Love the content ❤️
Hey Andy, try making your fillet cut near the head first and leave the filled attached at the tail. Once you've cut your ribs and belly area free, flop the fillet back past the tail, then slice the fillet off the skin. Let the tail hold the skin for you. Thays how we do our freshwater fish. Cheers great videos bud!

I can't resist leaving a line out at night while I'm getting ready for bed. I usually have a pot at camp or right next to the boat while I sleep too. Even if it's a crappy spot I always have a crap pot near by. And it regularly pays off.
Dukkah Def Middle eastern although it travelled to Europe and throughout Asia eventually. Try Hazelnuts instead of walnuts (the euroversion) and dry roast them in the skillet with the coriander seeds, turn heat off and coat them with Cumin. After that they can travel and are instand accompaniments sprinkled on salads, add oil and dip bread or if you really want them on fish then blend a light batter to attach, or super mince the fish, combo with this and egg and make cakes. Never had any luck with soldier crabs, they must be at the very bottom of the food chain for mine everywhere Ive tried, too damn picky, I would skip the lead or necessary add it behind 1.5m of flourocarbon and a very small dark barrell swivel, maybe a smaller hook like a 2. You're a genius at lure fishing and teach me every episode, your casts are superhuman and Harroesque but after coarse fishing throughout the world I reckon I could show you a few small tricks on your baitfishing (PLEASE TAKE ME FISHING WITH YOU< ANYWHERE ANYTIME!!) Love you Andy :)
10 degrees..hahaha ..love you guys ..will be in queensland, sunny coast in August ...looking to be able to cool down in Aus...currently 10pm and 35 degrees ..ps last winter it was -20 here in central france .... keep em coming andy
Would also love a jungle camping video but I also know it takes time and you work but they are my favourite for sure it’s just something you don’t see often from anyone I know of anyway there very interesting

Keep it coming mate!!! As a city guy, I can only dream about doing what you do. Amazing journeys every time. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers!!!!
I've tried soldier crabs for bait loads of times, they can work but compared to worms or yabbies they are absolute rubbish. Catch more bream on live worms, more whiting on live yabbies. "Edit" - You'll want a longer leader for whiting. The sinker and swivel being too close can put them off. About 15-30cm between hook and swivel, sinker above that. It lets the bait float around more naturally while staying where you want it(being in shallow water, this matters). Best whiting setup in my opinion. I know there are a couple of other rigs that work well for whiting too. My favourite fish.
If you want a really nice/easy to make sauce to go with your fish and chips - kewpie mayo + ketchup + wasabi + lemon juice. Thats a big favourite in my house 😊👌
Always great vids Andy Love the set up I wish I was fishing now.. Nelson Nz is in the single digits this time of year, the fishing pretty slow but lots of flat day on the water…. Stunning You got to head over some day Fly fishing for king fish in summer is great. Keep up the good work Looking forward to the camper build.
Watching from the highlands of PNG, it would be awesome if you were able to make some videos up here. I've had a few casual sessions on some rivers in Western Province with no luck yet, but I'm really trying to make some more contacts this year to get some more opportunities.
Thanks Andy for another enjoyable video, I started watching your videos a little while back. Not long ago I was binge watching, and saw that you were here in Florida in 2014. You were talking about gators and salt water crocodiles. I've grown up around both. But anyway You've top all my favorite people to watch when it comes to fishing and bow hunting for that matter. I would just like to thank you for your videos. They bring back quite a few of my favorite memories of fishing, camping, hunting and the life in my younger years. Thanks again.👍👍🐾
Finally a video sir!!!! Thank you and thank you for the amazing quality... Be careful what you wish for should be my life's anthem- lol, I could never make this stuff up.
Down in Vic, nothing really goes for the soldier crabs. Need to get the black ones that live around the rocks and then the bream go mad for them......!
@@Andysfishing I got the info about using the black crabs from a old bloke in far east gippsland. Figure that info is pretty accurate seeing as he'd been fishing out that way for 50+ years. Even in water dirtier than you were just fishing, was getting a bit in 30-60 seconds using the black crabs, the bream were smashing them!
Once again great video it’s always a pleasure watching your video, I’m always checking UA-cam everyday for your videos to come up and you never disappoint so fun to watch and very educational love your work

Very pretty fish the cods they look like baby Goliath grouper we have in south Florida (they get over 600lbs ) we have a huge problem with them they roam wrecks and eat your catch no matter the size of it sometimes even sharks your hooked on get gulped up

Great Video Andy. Believe it or not, your vids where you soak bait like you did in this one, or have a bait out for sharks are my favorite. So our version of Mangrove Jacks here in Texas we call Mangrove Snapper. They are VERY similar species. In Galveston where I fish they started showing up 20 years or so ago and are a favorite target of ours now when we are doing inshore fishing for redfish, trout, and flounder. I've heard people theorize they started coming in on the rig legs of the offshore jackup drilling rigs....and just stayed here. I know in Florida and that side of the gulf they are very prevalent in the shallows...but to us here on the West side of the GOM, they are "relatively" new as an inshore species. Take care!!! I DO HAVE ONE QUESTION: is there a concern there for a crocodile to actually try to get in the boat with you while you are camping like that?? Crocs are definitely NOT on our watch list...our alligators tend to leave us alone.
Jacks and snapper do like to hide in any cracks or structure, so your idea could be right. Also, yes, I worry about crocs almost every night. That's why i scan the water before bed.
Hey mate love your videos hope that caravan is coming along I have a question I see you have a fish sounder I was wondering if you could do a small segment on your videos of what to look for on your sounder for catching squid I I don't really know what I'm looking at on my sounder when searching for a good spot to fish for squid cheers

Get your fishing bill like a they're like little cowbells it clipped onto your rod and there might out of brass or loom no more metal and put it on your rod and when it goes off you wake you'd wake up you go over and get your fishing rod catch your fish
Love your vids mate! The fishing and the cooking is great! I am a bait angler and wish I had better skills using lures. Have you got a spicy fish curry planned in the future? I always do a green curry or make Thai fish cakes when I catch salmon trout (Australian Salmon/kahawai)
Isn’t bannanas on a boat bad luck…? Wish you were in uk one time Andy would love to fish with you ! Best catch and cook UA-cam channel change my mind …..
Hey! I love your shows. Do your fish in the eski ever get cold enough to do a Skin peel on your cod. We skin our grouper here first, then we fillet the meat off
Are you still happy with how that eva foam decking performs? I noticed it was peeling on the edges, I assume that's because of how often you fish, it probably takes a beating. Would you still recommend it or is something else now better for boat decking? I ask because I've just gotten my first real boat, and I'm really excited to start modifying it to fish well and be safe for my wife, who hasn't quite found her sea legs yet...

mangrove jack will take a bait very eagerly, they like strips of fish fillets, and live baits especially.
Yes I live bait is a definite but I wouldn’t have thought a strip of fish would be that enticing for them

Hey! I love your shows. Do your fish in the eski ever get cold enough to do a Skin peel on your cod. We skin our grouper here first, then we fillet the meat off

I ask because I've just gotten my first real boat, and I'm really excited to start modifying it to fish well and be safe for my wife, who hasn't quite found her sea legs yet...
