I dont care what anyone says, she's one of the most beautiful, knowledgeable, smartest car women on the youtubes. its not very often you see a female doing everything this woman does.
I'm glad someone else said this. I'm always compelled to say it but don't want to come off as a leg humper. On top of everything else she has going, her old man is the coolest guys in motorsports with a VAST ability and knowledge about motorsports! Sorry Dennis, I think I got my first man crush going.. nohomo
I've got a long story involving Cleetus, Leroy, and an Exo-Cage on a naked Corvette..... Long story short, thanks to Lonnie's patients and knowledge we were able to get Cleeter his 7.50 certification. He's a great guy to deal with, and trust me, I've met some interesting people dealing with NHRA for the last 30 years. lol
Hell yeah brother I love that car, there's just something about it, it's like the people's champ. Miss seeing your work on his channel hope all is going well mate 👍
Yes!! Jeff Smith is a cool cat. I had the opportunity to cruise with him and the Car Craft staff on Car Craft Anti-Tour a few times, the man is a wealth of knowledge and entertaining story teller, and has an awesome stable of Chevelles.
I have cracked a main cap and destroyed a thrust main baring letting off in the topend when the sump dried up. Lucky for me the engine was still running even drove it on the trailer. Didn't even find the crack until we pulled it apart. Only knew there was a problem as oil pressure was 8lbs at idle lol.
Jake is such an awesome dude, I bet he’s going to miss riding with your dad this year, Nick is awesome dude to drive and and work so hard and then drive again, it’s great to have such awesome friends. Thanks for the videos catching us up on the build.

Thank You for demonstrating all the precision details required for a build of this caliber! Very cool and kind of amazing that you were able to finish and actually road-trip RMRW.....I anxiously await each episode of this build!
It's been a year since this video came out, so I don't know if you'll see this. Speaking about the "painting a car with a brush". . . It was several years ago on a visit with my oldest sister and her family we went to one of the local parks and had a picnic. In the parking lot of the massive park we were at, there happened to be a red car, that just looked a tad off. Not really thinking anything of it I went about business hanging out with family. A little later I noticed a guy out fussing around the car and when I looked a bit closer, I saw that he was doing "touchups". The off that I saw about the car, ended up being that it was painted with house paint. He was going around the car and freshening up the paint on the car, with a brush, and some house paint. 😳
Love the build and people involved. Tell your dad for future reference Chevrolet started using melonized dist. gears in factory roller blocks around 1988ish. They are better than aftermarket and cheaper.
You told us about the chassis certification a month ago and showed us the tag/decal but that's all good I can't wait to see the car run because we didn't see it run at the track
Low 6's!!?? If they get in to the 6's it will be remarkable. I know it sounds cool and makes for good headlines, but a 6 second pass, much less a "low 6" is "rare air" especially for a new build. Give it a couple of seasons to work out the weak points, and they just might approach a high 6!
@@paulcopeland9035 the cage is certified for 6.50 i was wondering what happens if you go faster than what your cage is certified for do you get fined . low 7s high 6s would still be pretty good for a new car until they get it dailed in
I agree with what there saying about after you hit the traps, kick the trans in neutral before you pop the shoot because on deceleration the oil is forced away from the pick up so it's hard on all the motor parts from lack of oil. Been doing that for decades with my 11 second cars.
Hmm lovely build must have been a crush to be finished for RMDW, I have never had a panic at the end of a build YET always a first but I hate to rush things and not missed a deadline way too stressful. Just wish I could find a petrol head with talent for a partner as you are.
The bearings need chamfered on a lathe. Very typical with "good" aftermarket crankshafts from larger radius's. That's why both bearings pictured were "shiney" on the edges. Best way is to make a fixture in the CNC for them.
Just curious Alex. Lately you've been doing your introductions in your car... Is this so you can have some quiet? I know you're a very busy young lady and I really am enjoying your progression as a racer, and you definitely deserve all your successes!
Hey Dennis - couple videos ago you were saying how easy lexan scratches, if I remember correctly. When ever you have time in the next 10 yrs try shooting some urethane on top of it.
If you can't get the 55 down to a 6.50 then you should take the engine to Steve Morris and see what he thinks he would change to squeeze every ounce of HP out of the BBC and still be in the safe and reliable zone and if you're having trouble reaching the HP numbers you're looking for then you should have him build you a similar engine that is in Tom Bailey's Sick 1.0 and also I do believe eventually Tom is going to put Steve's SMX in 1.0 as well similar to the set up he has in 2.0 but I think he is going to wait until he gets 2.0 back up and running before he puts an SMX in 1.0 so maybe your dad and Tom could make a deal where Dennis ends up with the engine out of 1.0 and then the Nova can have it's heartbeat back and then there will be an engine in everything so once the Chevy II comes out you guys can pick and choose which car goes to what event and since Badmaro is already a small tire car it would be sick if you built it for X275,N/T275 etc..... Some class that runs mid to low 4s on a 275
when I heard Tom mentioned I knew it had to be Sick Seconds getting loaned to you lol. Just make sure the Chutes open for you since at least one pass Cleetus made the Chutes didn't open lol
I’m not to familiar with drag racing engines but more stock car stuff. We always use dry sump oil pumps is there a reason they don’t use them in this application?
What is Jake's opinion about the guys who as soon as they go across the finish line and pull the chutes and as they fully open they let off the throttle and kill the car then throw the car in neutral and coast to the return lane and come to a stop and pack the chutes I guess my question would be is it easier or worse on a trans than just throwing it into neutral right after the finish line and then pulling the chutes letting the chutes do most of the work of the decell like he was saying could be catastrophic for a trans throwing it into neutral while the engine is just starting to decell after the run?
Probably depends on the trans. With an auto if you shut the engine off it also quits pumping oil in the trans. Which could be bad if it’s still spinning for the whole decel time. If it’s a manual it’s normally lubed by the gears spinning so the engine being off shouldn’t hurt it in the same way.
Definitely stay pretty part is covered that car is going to be the fastest safest tank on the planet your dad needs to patent his ideas so he could really enjoy retirement but his type will never really retire
You look Flippin Amazing girl 🎉
❤❤❤❤ now quest for the 5's???! 🎉🎉🎉 "LET'S GOOOO"!!
Starting to look good
Your Dad's ingenuity never ceases to amaze me.
Anything new done on the COE...is it time to revisit with a video....😊
I'm enjoying every part of your video's and of course how all of you work together for the common goal. I'll keep watching.
I dont care what anyone says, she's one of the most beautiful, knowledgeable, smartest car women on the youtubes. its not very often you see a female doing everything this woman does.
As my cuzz would say , she's on the back side of fine
Who argued this? She literally tunes, builds, and drives her cars. I don't think there are any girls even close.
I'm glad someone else said this. I'm always compelled to say it but don't want to come off as a leg humper. On top of everything else she has going, her old man is the coolest guys in motorsports with a VAST ability and knowledge about motorsports! Yes. Bet it helps having Dennis as your dad
Definitely more real than Lizzy Musi
God bless your dad.
Memorial day? Dang, you really need to get us caught up. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the next one.
When was that again? Sorry, don't have a reliable american holiday calendar at hand...
I take it that's been quite a few weeks ago...
That girdle built and designed in house ...bad ass
Awesome and seeing the 55 getting more done. You all rock big time. Happy birthday Alex too.
Awesome to see the amount of planning it takes to build a car like this from your minds.
Thank you for sharing

Don't you work for Cameron Johnson now @ CJRC?
Dennis you are great dad ,and a very knowledgeable and patient man. not mention your ability.
Yes!! Jeff Smith is a cool cat.

Good luck.
And well bloody done.
Cool beans alex.Be safe achieving your goal. You and your family is awesome.you were ways fast alex.god bless.
Thank you , please keep the build videos coming !
A lot of talent in one garage. Go 6's!
Very glad to learn about not putting the th400 in neutral after a pass unless built for it, saved me a catastrophe- thank you!
Love seeing what goes into a car like this. Don't think I have seen as in depth as this on another channel. Love you all!
Jake is such an awesome dude, I bet he’s going to miss riding with your dad this year, Nick is awesome dude to drive and and work so hard and then drive again, it’s great to have such awesome friends. Thanks for the videos catching us up on the build.
Alex you keep impressing me more and more on how much knowledge you have in these car builds.....and your new hair style is 🔥
Alex is pretty talented for as young as she is. Got alot of nice cars to work on .

Wow. This guy skirted his own block. True blue hotroder. Get Dennis a show already!!!!
Ready for the next one. Please don’t take another week, I want to get up to speed with the current builds. Good Luck!
I watch all episodes. Love the details on the transmission mod. I learn each visit. Peace.

I love when you say dad is doing "DAD stuff". Like modding the distributor I guess DAD stuff stands for Dad Aided Design.
Let's goo
One step closer Alex!!
I love this channel so much Alex❗️💯 I mean with EVERY video, just buckets of knowledge💯 Such a great family and team💪🏻

Everyone will copy your great ideas thanks for explaining it all clearly for us
Keep chugging forward. THIS is going to be a blast from the future past, or past’s future. ‘ Ruff ‘n ugly ‘ shall be a missile.
Much Good Fortune!
Love the build and people involved. Tell your dad for future reference Chevrolet started using melonized dist. gears in factory roller blocks around 1988ish. They are better than aftermarket and cheaper.
"Dad things"
That obviously means things your dad is able to do.
....not things most dads can do. 😁
I imagine both. Ha
I laughed big-time when she said that.... pretty dang broad category.
You told us about the chassis certification a month ago and showed us the tag/decal but that's all good I can't wait to see the car run because we didn't see it run at the track
Dennis knows all those specs by heart
congratulations all the hard work is paying off can not wait to see a low 6s run going to be amazing

I really enjoy watching this build. I wish you guys the best of luck and go fast!
Puts the sticker on a location to get roll bar pad covered. Under a pad it will be UV protected from fading, brilliant. Velcro Roll bar pad cover FTW.
Happy Today Alex and Family!!! 🐻
This has been an insane build journey
I love your build videos you are a inspiration to other people keep up the great work 👍👍
Love your video's.All knowledge is above my pay scale.Great video's

"pop the shoot" !!??
great video Alex
Great content thanks for sharing
Amazing
I see that you were featured in the Summit Racing Catalog this month, Cool!
Well oiled Machine!
Mahle is a good part manufacturer BUT King racing bearings are the BEST! Just a tip beautiful 😍!

Best shorts ever!!
It's almost Christmas. Still have not seen this thing run!
Another thing l love about this build is it proves, smooth paint job won't improve et's
You're awesome and well done as well for all the work..that's hardcore. I'm probably going full race car now too :)
great gerdle on that big block
The bearings need chamfered on a lathe. Very typical with "good" aftermarket crankshafts from larger radius's. That's why both bearings pictured were "shiney" on the edges. Best way is to make a fixture in the CNC for them.
I can now make sense out of one of Derek's uploads in the Ice Cream Truck series.
Just curious Alex. Lately you've been doing your introductions in your car... Is this so you can have some quiet? I know you're a very busy young lady and I really am enjoying your progression as a racer, and you definitely deserve all your successes!

when I heard Tom mentioned I knew it had to be Sick Seconds getting loaned to you lol. Just make sure the Chutes open for you since at least one pass Cleetus made the Chutes didn't open lol
I'm pretty sure Cleetus had to go change his shorts after that one!
@@clint8130 I think he actually said something about that himself in the video lol
Awesome
I could have done everything shown in this video--but it would have taken me 10 years. ;)
hasnt this been down the track already ?
Yeah, but she is just now releasing the rest of the build videos bc they ran out of time leading up to drag week
I remember the Callout for the carbon gear on the livestream
I also have a transmission stool...just not nearly as much knowledge standing around it!:)
Y'all are doing a great job. Ignore all the negative comments on this video they are just jealous.

Just sayin’…

I love this but the 19 parts is brutal , does give you an idea how long it takes to make something like this
im in love

Your dad has so many race proven talent and you are learning fast.
