Are you kidding me??? This is FANTASTIC because ... (a) Hearing TBJR covering it so well, and (b) To hear it isolated and showing us how decent was Brian's level of mastery of the instrument. He clearly didn't just pick it up and noodle this part. I wonder if he studied the recorder in school?
There are several basic parts to this that can be endlessly mixed and improvised together, always wondered if tune was inspired by some classical piece, you have saved me the trouble of working out the notes thank you.
Thanks, liked to hear the recorder part isolated. There is also a version of ruby live on stage from Paris on UA-cam. Jones wasnt a professional, but I guess he quickly understood what opportunities the recorder gave him. He also played the recorder on all sold out.
Thank you so much for these pieces. Is there any chance you could figure out what he is playing in the background of Complicated? It has some magical fair ground quality? And I love it. It's quiet fun listening through all their old tracks and working out which bits he did. He has this amazingly distinct quality that really stands out! They are easily my favourite parts of the songs. Thank you for isolating them for his fans!
@@TheBrianJonesResource I recently bought the Aulos Alto 709BW. Just a beginner. Learning scales. I envy your ability to play without squeaky sounds and other mistakes.
Duh always wondered what a recoder was. Shows what he broughr to the Stones. Even if he flew straight I still think the Stones would have added a top notch lead guitar player.
Main difference is how the sound is made. A recorder has a fipple which is like a solid reed which the player blows in to, where as a flute just has an open hole which the player blows across. Other differences are how it is held and finger positions. The metal flute is basically a louder, more versatile instrument which is why it effectively replaced the recorder in classical music.

I strongly felt missing Brian Jones, while I listened to a demonstration !!!!!!
Yes, we, everyone is missing you !!!!!

Thank you for this. It is nice to hear Brian's playing and the intricacy it required.
Brian Jones did a very good job on the recorder very good song
I enjoyed this , keep the Brian Jones memory going . :)
Absolutely gorgeous. Brian would be proud.
Beautiful! The recorder part reminds me of a butterfly in a breeze 🦋 I'm trying to sing along but I forgot most of the lyrics 😄🎶
I love this isolation. I have been working this out on my fiddle, and what a help you have been!
Glad it was helpful. ♥️🎶

I read somewhere that BJ used a bass recorder for the song. You're a superb player...congratulations!
Thanks. Definitely the treble/alto.
Me fascina está bonita melodía de los Rolling Stones.
Thank you
can you please write the notes? I can't find them anywhere :(
Wow. That is wonderful. What kind of recorder is that?
A cheap plastic Aulos alto/treble.

Fantastic!! Is that a Tenor recorder?
Alto/treble.

There is only what happened. 🍻
I agree all around.
What's main between a flute and a recorder,?

@@TheBrianJonesResource thanks for the information.

@@TheBrianJonesResource

Can you tell me what kind of recorder you play and where I can get one pls?
Aulos. Sold all over the world.
Where can I find music sheet for the song?
I don't know, sorry, i just worked it out through listening.
@@TheBrianJonesResource so, I'll try to do the same :)
😓
is this difficult to play? i’m tempted to buy a recorder so i can just have a crack at it
Probably take a whike if starting from scratch. But very doable.
What key is your alto recorder in please ?
