I did something that I was afraid to do.
But I knew I had to learn.
    I took my Mossberg MC2C
    apart.
I did it right alone with your
    video demonstration.
    I was a afraid that I would
damage my fire arm but I didn't.
I follow right alone with you
and I took it a part and I put
    it back together.
I am full of pride because each day
I am learning more about my
    firearm.
Thank you so much in what you
    do.
    😐👍👍

Muscle memory, I picked up an MC2SC yesterday, and the takedown is exactly the same, which as I've been a Ruger shooter for 20+ years (or 1911) I was not confident, just watch out for the striker to jump out, as mine tried to when I pulled that little bit down, and there is a spring, but that's the only thing I didn't see here that I experienced. Firearms safety is your first rule, but confidence is next and comes from repetition, just make sure you follow those 4 rules of safety when you're cleaning, training, etc, and you'll see it come to you more and more.

I just bought one...a little blindly I must admit. The gun is beautiful. The only thing that concerns me is the longevity of the firing pin from the "easy take down", and the play between the front of the slide and frame. So far it's a great gun!

I would say mossberg put tremendous amounts of testing for both pistols . The Mc2c is a much bigger impact in improved everything. Time will tell ,but I am glad I waited for this model. I like it much more than my CZ p10s and glock 19. It shoots more accurately that those as well.

Update after 1 year of use and occasional carry. Still fires like normal - finish is intact and looks new. No issues with firing Pin or any components. The only downside to this gun to be honest is the trigger. It "feels" very cheap and inconsistent. But hey, it's a mossberg.

I did get lucky, came with a 15 round magazine and a 13 RD.
      But couldn't find any extras.
Mossberg store was sold out so i click to notify me when available. About two months later we got a email saying that they were in stock so I found out Mossberg can't deliver mags to Illinois, called my sister in Wisconsin and she ordered me 4 magazines which came less than two weeks. I got lucky again, checked Mossberg the next day and they were sold out again. But keep in mind clock 43x fits perfectly into the MC1 only. Too thick for the Mc2.
Now I can't get ammo for it so far. I have a box hollow pts. and About 100 rds for the range.
I refuse the buy at my range, they want 36 dollars a box of fifty,
      Talk about price gouging!
Gun ranges are going to close cause they can't afford to pay for way over priced ammo.
Before the pandemic they were less than ten dollars for a box of fifty.

@@D-A-1776 yup. g43 holsters can facilitate a number of pistols. g43, g43x, mossberg mc2c just off of the top of my head. There's probably a polymer 80 version of a g43, too. It might even holster a g42, but that I don't know. Basically, if you were inclined to buy a holster before committing to a pistol, g43 is probably the safest bet. Or a g19 holster, maybe. I had the mc1sc my first 200 rounds with quite a few malfunctions I would say at least 20 to 25 failure to feed failure to eject failure to go into battery but then after that it seemed to have broke in I put an additional 300 rounds on it the last 300 or so were pretty much flawless very accurate firearm feeling very good in your hand.. I also did not care for the magazine's which seemed flimsy to me wish they were steel but overall think this firearm after break in Is quite nice!

I would like see you to add two checks on your table top reviews. One, extractor tension on a field stripped slide using a live round or shell casing. The tension on my MC2c was way too high, but easily fixed with clipping the extractor spring 3/4 of a coil. Too much tension = poor feeding. Too little tension = erratic ejection. Two, vertical chopstick launch, which I perform on every new gun and usually after cleaning/reassembly. Tells you a lot about firing pin/striker integrity, proper function of the firing pin block mechanism, and primer ignition.

  • @chriszablocki2460
    @chriszablocki2460 4 роки тому +1

It's a good little gun. It's a collectable for the fact that it's a mossberg handgun, takes glock43 mags, fits glock43 holsters, and uses sig #8 sights. You'll never have to go far for parts and accessories, and the most you'll ever pay for it is 380$. Its not going to win you a 3 gun contest, but it might save your life.

Just set a 15 second timer, hit start, field stripped my Mossberg MC2C, hit stop with 8 second remaining. Very easy to field strip.
I bought a Mossberg MC2C earlier today and took it to the range. Very impressed. Shot center out of silhouette with ease. This is after the breech face on my Glock 48 failed. Yes, that’s right, steel on the frame of the pistol failed. If you look this up, you’ll see that what I experienced was not an anomaly. I use snap caps 99% of the time, and yes, I do a lot of dryfiring. I could probably live with the firing pin having to be replaced but the slide failing?! Hot garbage. The G48 was a great size, and shot decently after replacing the sights and trigger, but I was far from impressed.
Out of the box, MC2C smokes the G48. It is slightly heavier than G48 with empty mag, as the weight listed for MC2C must be with no mag inserted. Trigger, texturing, and sights are superior than G48. As GB stated, casings are snug in chamber which probably means should use brass exclusively. Mine had no problem with brass and a couple chokes on Tuula steel. Only concern I have is it is a Glock clone so I worry about how well it will hold up after my experience with G48.

What I also found was the extractor spring seems to be super stiff from the factory. I disassembled extractor, extractor spring to break it in a tad. Could be wrong but I think if there’s one thing that might lead to a “break in period” is the stiff extractor spring.

I think the rear of the mag release button is too proud of the frame and could eject the mag if bumped. The MC2sc has a frame bump behind the button but this was not included on the MC1sc or MC2c. I applied a stick on 3.5 mm thick pad (drawer/cabinet door bumper) behind the button which cured this problem.

It looks great, I have considered buying many compact handguns but have always had this issue of grip too short which makes kind of uncomfortable to shoot for my preference. I have also considered Glock but my medium size hands make it hard to shoot that gun. This one looks slim so it might be the gun I have been waiting for. My Taurus Millennium G2 is perfect size, super ergonomic and reliable but I don't really like its trigger and plastic sights.

Have the MC 1 and those solid serrations are amazingly effective but have to clean a lot of skin out of the grooves. Hopefully this version is more reliable. I had to do extensive break in and work on the rails to get it to go into battery. Really love the gun though except for the polymer mags, these mags look much better.

I had a similar problem with it not going into battery reliably. Sent it back to Mossberg, and they fixed it by replacing the trigger assembly. Apparently, one of the bars was bent or deformed, right out of the box. It works great now, and is very accurate.

It’s almost unfortunate that I found my beloved P365XL last October. These two appear to be, for all practical purposes, the same size and it would be interesting to see how the MC2 fits/feels in the hand.
Speaking of, I do very much like the feel of the flat, 90° break trigger (I put Sig’s “X” trigger in all my P320’s) but what I like about Sig’s version is that it appears to break and finish much farther away from the rear of the trigger guard than Mossberg’s. I find I shoot much better with Sig’s concept and don’t generally like triggers that end up back at the frame but I’d have to try it to see if I could live with it.
Overall, and just by appearances, I’d have to say that it looks like Mossberg designed a very nice gun here. Love the takedown, dimensions, appearance!

I am FAR from a Glock fanboy. Walther makes unquestionably my favorite pistols. That said, I bought a Glock 48 a few months ago and really like it. The G43X and G48 are probably the only Glocks I would ever consider owning because of how well the fit in my hand. For specs, MC2C and Glock 48 on paper are almost identical. The MC2C is noticeably chunkier when you handle it. Was impressed with how good the trigger was when I dry fired it. It has higher capacity factory mags compared to G48, but it’s not nearly as sleek. Glock 48 slide width is 0.88”. 0.96” with slide stop.
I understand the whole “it’s the same height as a Glock 19, but only holds 10 rds. Height is what causes a gun to print so why would I carry a Glock 48?” Comfort, you can carry it owb with a blazer and there’s isn’t an obvious bulge on one of your hips. 10 rds with a backup mag will suffice for me all day long. Have not tried the Shield Arms 15 rd mags.
A set of $55 Ameriglo Hackathorns and a $60 Precision Overwatch Polydat. Worth checking out. If you do pick up a G43X or G48(won’t hold my breath), Polydat trigger is only $60 and well worth it.
Walther, if you’re reading this, slimline PDP. Don’t make a high capacity PPS with a p***y trigger. Fully cocked striker. PPS trigger isn’t bad but it doesn’t need to be different than PPQ/PDP unless that trigger mechanism can’t be squeezed down to such a narrow width.
Again, not a Glock fanboy at all. You and I share that sentiment

    • @scotteger6271

The striker plate is made by Strike Industries and used by Mossberg under license, so that’s probably more solid than it might seem.
I believe the MC1sc took Sig sights and I don’t believe they changed the slide (dovetails) so would probably work, but they also make one with Truglo night sights so there’s always that option.

As far as the disassembly procedure, it is different but if you remove a Glock slide and take the striker plate off it’s basically the same as this, so Mossberg utilized a known/proven design. • @scotteger6271
      @scotteger6271 3 роки тому

I doubt the Glock mags would have fit in the size constraints they were working with…hence why a G19 isn’t slimmer…the plastic mags have always been one of Glock’s weaknesses. They haven’t done anything truly creative since the 80’s but everyone buys them…it took a 3rd party company (Shield Arms) to come up with 15 round mags for the 43x/48, which is apparently unheard of voodoo magic to Glock…

Just added a MC2c to my collection and I agree with everything said here about its great features. BUT, somewhere on UA-cam someone has to remark about the takedown method. Over the past 60 years I've been involved in engineering from soup to nuts, including forensic engineering. The Mossberg concept of removing the back plate on the slide and then removing the striker in order to field strip for cleaning without pressing the trigger is the worst engineering I've seen EVER. It even beats out the idea had by an engineer, upon awakening from a bad dream, that in order to make the roads smoother for driving we should pave all the roads with cream cheese. If the company with all that shotgun experience wants to put a shotgun style safety behind the trigger I say okay. But when they let a concept like this takedown loose on the general shooting public it makes you wonder what their engineers were smoking or snorting. If you don't believe how bad the engineering is, get one for yourself and play with it.
