You have to remove the foil on the back of the mat also :)

I would LOVE to purchase this machine. I have a circuit but do not do sublimation because I cannot stand polyester clothing.

Thanks for this thoughtful and honest review! While laser cutting and screen printing aren't for me, I still enjoy seeing new products and technology. I certainly see how this screen printer would appeal to folks who already have a laser cutter or a small business looking to expand their offerings. Cheers!

X tool does not post negative reviews for this device. I received a screen printer with a warped plywood and left a review on their website. They are in the process of replacing the plywood, but the fact that they don’t put all reviews is deceiving.

A few tips: You can only work in black and white, because black means the laser removes the layer and white means the layer remains. However, it is also possible to print photos using the CMYK Halftone method, which requires the use of several screens.
Only use one direction when squeegeeing, otherwise the ink can flood under the mesh and ruin the print.

So fun. I'm debating but stuck on the price compared to vevor. I do, however, love my xtool machine. Just weighing the pros and cons at this time. Thanks for the share.

My crafting is for fun. If I occasionally can sell to cover my costs (wait - that is a really funny statement 😂🤣!) I consider it a win. Have noticed you are getting a bit closer to your subscriber goal, congrats.

You do know that the sticky mat is sticky on both sides if you remove the protective films, right? 🙂
Especially for your card making you might want to check the position marking tape sheet that should've been in your boxes. You can mark the position of the cards that way and do batches more easily. Also you can use the turning knobs on the front to align the board to the screen. It's really important for multicolor printing.
I have not screen printed a photo yet, but I do think you need to use the "Grid" filter in XCS to get a halftone version of the image. A halftone image is made of different sized dots like you see in images in newspapers. You might have to convert the photo first with a different program, because XCS doesn't give you a lot of options in regards to dot size. That size depends on the mesh density of your screen. xTool has a pretty coarse mesh, so you probably need bigger dots.
If you don't clean the screen, the ink will dry and block ink from going through the next time you use it.

Just a quick comment that you should not cut regular vinyl on a laser cutter, since the fumes will damage both you and your machine.
There is, however, laser-safe vinyl available for laser cutting.

The M1 has a blade and a laser in it so it’s fine.

This is a neat machine but not for me. My son is a professional screen printer so I think I’ll let him do the work for me.

Interesting. However not sure why this process is better than printing or sublimation. Seems alot more fiddly.

I still don't get what this machine does. Can you show the "cut" motive in detail?

The laser puts the pattern onto the blue canvas by removing the coating. Then it acts like a stencil.
