I purchased in April 2020. Had to wait about 2 weeks (website said this so it was expected) and then got it almost immediately. Easy to attach and use. My 17 pound Mini Schnauzer was scared the first time. Coaxed him into it with cookies and he was fine. We've been riding almost every day and he LOVES it! He's 12 years old and loves walking but it's getting harder for him so now we walk and then go for a ride. I searched and couldn't find any dog seat like this. Worth every penny!
I just loved this video!! Absolutely adorable!!! Lol Made me giggle seeing the pups ears blow upwards in the wind..! He was definitely loving that ride with his daddy..! 😍🥰❤️😇
Love this design. Would you consider designing straps that would work with a chest harness or include on instead of the neck restraints - they can cause pressure on the neck, which wouldn't be ideal for smaller dogs like frenchies, pugs, with back issues.
I'm a female and my mountain bike bar is just right, if I were to get this it would be too high for me to jump down and stop or even difficult to get on. I would need a size small mountain bike. Otherwise, this is something I wouldve purchased in a heartbeat! I really like the idea of being close to your pooch and not having that weight on my front tire with the suspension. Maybe I need a new bike.
I feel the same way. I just got a brand new bike and just found out about the buddyrider option for my dog. I can't afford an extra inch, my feet wouldn't touch the ground. :(
I ordered mine today, can’t wait to get it! From your video looks like I won’t need the booster sit I got.. I just wanted to make sure it is comfy for my Schnauzer
pretty cool but for the price tag you would hope it would have some sort of comfort padding thats removable for cleaning and maybe a small padding on the front board for their head to rest on the long hauls
I would get some kind of gel padded you can trim it up till it fits and put velcro straps and a slip cover to cover it up and also so as you can remove it to clean it up.possibilities I'm going to check and see if they have accessories for it to dress it up a little
SO excited to find this! I didn't want to have to stuff my poor little man into a back pack. Those i'm sure would get super hot and nasty and unenjoyable
i love the design and if you could retail these for $99 USD or less you would have a runaway best seller, as it is my bike actually cost less than the dog seat
I bought the Buddy Rider and ergonomically it's not good. It's fine for short distances and random rides. But keep in mind you have to be in an awkward wide straddle position to paddle, that does not feel right at all. Also, the carrier will rub against your thighs constantly.
because i have to get off the seat to reach the ground with my feet, this won't allow me to stop safely. Can it be set up so that doggie is behind me riding...? Just flip the plate so dog is facing forward..?
I tried mine at the weekend and all went fairly well. A few comments would be grateful for feedback,. I found I had to ride with my knees splayed out to avoid hitting the underside of the carrier, perhaps it is because I have not got it close enough to the underside of the saddle. I have an electric bike and am unable to see digital display.
I have a milk cart on the back rack. Having this rack connected to my seat post would make it difficult to dismount the bike, plus it cost way too much. Thanks for the video.
Hi. I'm thinking about buying it, and i'm going to use it with Brompton. Does your legs friction too much on plastic while you're driving ? I'm nervous about this. Can I use my legs without tearing them apart ?
I have a folding bike that has 46 inches from the seat post to the front handle bar. My dog weighs 24.4 lbs so that's OK but will it fit OK with my bike?
Scott that is so cool I've got to get one from you guys my dog is 25 pounds and I could use that on my townie bicycle it's awesome. I was just on your website and ordered something and I didn't see it on there I wonder why.
I'm so sorry for the terribly late reply Kavita! I don't check UA-cam messages as often as I should. Here is the direct link if still interested - www.thedogoutdoors.com/buddyrider-dog-bicycle-seat-attachment.html You can email me at the website ahead of time and I'll make sure to throw in a little something extra for the late response.
@ The Dog Outdoors (Shipping Facility) I love this seat! I had a front bike seat for my kids when they were toddlers and they absolutely loved it. I was so happy to find one for my pooch! Speaking of pooches, may I ask what breed of dog you have? I’m assuming some kind of terrier..? She’s truly adorable!
Can you put 2 10 lb dogs....I have a dog that bike walks with me and two chihuahuas and I would love to take with us.....suggestions...could I put them both there?
I was excited until you showed the support bar that attaches to the seat. As a small person my stature would not allow for any additional height on the bicycle frame.
What's the difference if you have a front , center or rear carrier? Seriously, just ride like it's you're baby with you. Accidents happen and that's the risk we take everyday in our lives. If it worries you, then dont put your pet on a bicycle--done!
It can come with a booster seat which is padded. I have had one for over 2 years on my mountain bike, and have covered a lot of kilometres (I'm Aussie, so tend to talk metric). I have adapted my seat and added extra padding to the front so my dog can stretch out and relax on the longer rides. We cover anywhere from 20-70 kilometre (12-43 mile) rides on all sorts of terrain. Obviously nothing too rough, but the odd bump here and there, to keep things interesting. The downfall is you can't stand up to pedal, to get extra power. But it's a small price to pay for the enjoyment you get with your pet.
Yes, it comes with a thin removable foam layer on the floorboard for easy cleaning. I accidentally forgot to put it back in when shooting this video. You could always add additional cushioning as well and make it as comfy as you like. Thank you for your question and sorry for such a late reply!
I love it nut Is there any way to deliver it to Slovakia? All the other seats I've come across through the Internet do not offer a decet solution for my dog :(
@IRENE CUEVAS Sounds like you need to practise standing on the pedal whilst the bike is still moving before getting out of and over the saddle. Means you have to be wearing pants or much preferably cycling shorts.
The manufacturer says the smallest that he is aware of using it is 5 lbs. I'm thinking that if you used the Buddy Booster cushion - www.thedogoutdoors.com/buddyrider-buddybooster-cushion-insert.html and made sure the harness was secure it would be okay. Just be careful when getting her in and out and if for any reason you don't feel it is safe for her once getting it set up, you can send it back to us.
I'm not sure about this design. It raises the top tube by around four inches, effectively making the bike several sizes bigger and rather harder to get off, especially for anyone wearing a skirt, mainly for those who touch their nose with the tip of their toe. All to eliminate a bit of handlebar motion? Looks like a recipe for a battered coccyx!
Nice review and cute daughter. I have never seen one of these before and just happened to see your thumbnail suggested on one of my new videos showing my dog using a Spring Dog Exerciser on my bike. I film dog related videos on UA-cam also. Great review. Would one of these work with a very small 3lb teacup sized Yorkie? I've been trying to figure out a way to take mine along on my rides with my larger dogs and this looks like a possible way of doing that. I gave your video a thumbs up #91 and became a new subscriber. Stop by and take a look at my sometime. :-)
Cool design but the seat is good for dogs the sizes as Chihuahua and Pomeranian. Perhaps, a little bit bigger. No way a dog more than 7.5 kg can sit in this seat. My dog, a Silky Terrier, is 7.5 kg, and he looked at me as I was an idiot trying to get him in to that seat... I will have to send the seat back.
Great concept but that attachment looks like it would be deadly to my seat post (eg. it isn't round or metal.) Otherwise I'm sure my dog would much prefer this to riding in a trailer. And my butt would definitely prefer it to the backpack he used to ride in!
@@dannedved758 what testing has been done? Crash tests? I read on their page that NO chairmen NOR owners of the company will ever be held accountable for damage or injury while using the product. You can tell that he absolutely loves this!
Very good, concise job of explaining. Brinkley is super cute too! I'm wanting to replace my bike trailer.

I found the same. I have exact same bike as in this video.
Thats because your seat is set too low.

Would it be pushing it to put a 33 lb dog in this seat??
Oh !!! Just what we are looking for!! Any advice o puppers goggles or no?!
brother you went crazy with the price is even more expensive than the bike
Mini blue heeler is 31 pounds. Would she fit?
I know this is late in coming, but wondering, I have a recumbent 3 wheel catrike, (you can look up catrike) could it go on the rear rack so you think?
Will this work on the Wired Freedom bikes?
Awesome chair!!!
I think I need this.

Great video, thank you !!!!
👍👍👍👍👍
I wonder if this will work on a dropper post.
great video!!!!!! thank you!!🐶🐶🐶🐶
this is so frking adorable
But how do you get on and off the bike with that in the way?
Good point
So cute my pomeranian loves coming along on my ebike surron
The price if way too high for plastic material made. Drop it some more and I will def buy it.

Is this worth the price for my pup? She is a 5.5 lbs chihuahua so will the booster seat be good enough to keep her safe?
Hi, Do you know if I can set it up on a Lectric XP step-thru ? So excited to get it but not sure!!

Thank you for sharing. Informative, :)
Does this work with all bikes 🚲 ? What do you need to know before you buy?
Pls send link where I cud place my order.tnx
So will this work ok with a step thru ebike?
Yes. You would no longer be able to step thru, however. I have a step thru (girls) bike, and I am still getting the Buddyrider.
teamwork!
how much does your guy weigh?
this product has an interesting story tied to the designer
life with a dog...
on the go...
thanks
Brinkley is about 22 or 23 lbs at the time this was shot. She has lost a few pounds since :)
My dog sits in a basket on the front of the handlebars but it moves left n right a lot when turning. I'm so going to buy her one of these when I can
Hi dude, hi little dudesse, would Boston Terrier fit this seat? But I guess, not really...
I am getting one for my smallish Boston Terrier, 13.5 pounds.
Hmm, can this work for an 8-10lb dog?
Does it work with a road bike
I need one.
WOW thanks OMG I love it ❤💖🥰💞☯️😊🐕
Were can I buy this in Australia?
Did you ever find out
I was excited until you showed the support bar that attaches to the seat. As a small person my stature would not allow for any additional height on the bicycle frame.
Yeh, I've been thinking the same, what a shame, this would be ideal
If you have ladies bike with 23 plus inches between seat column and steering column, the carrier is only supported by seat column. Is that ok?
yes
I have one , he likes it
How much is this & can I purchase in the uk?
And how about with a FEMALE BK?
I love dogs !! Lol!!
Well that sucks it attaches to the seat post since all high end bikes come with a dropper post now a days
keep in mind how you normally get on and off your bike. This may be problematic
what kind of dog is that
I'm concerned about serious injuries should the bike tip over with the dog strapped inside. Is there any history of this happening?
rbbartho, that was my first thought. Curious, is your last name Bartholomew?

This look cool but as a shorter lady with shorter arms I worry that I would struggle to pop my 9kg dog in front of me and still have control
