@@solorvliving2118Did you happen to take the River Road to Presidio? If not hopefully you can experience it next time. If so take the highway out of Presidio up to Shafter and on to Marfa. But!!! Stop and explore Shafter….and its cemetery.
Been to Turlingua once several years ago. It was a Beautiful fall crisp day so we sat a a picnic table near the cemetery had us a picnic. Looks like it's time to make another trip.
My grandfather Albert G. Dignum was stationed in Terlingua as a member of the Texas Natl Guard in 1916 at age 17. during the Pancho Villa raid on Columbus NM. He later went to France in WWI as a member of the 36th (Texas/Oklahoma) Infantry Division in the Meuse-Argonne offensive. He was on the front for 21 days then the Armistice was signed on 11.11.1918 (@11:11 am)
I have been twice. The starlight theater is amazing! Fun music and grate food. Also great photo spots. I would also recommend going too far flung. Great tours including jeep and kayak tours.
Thank you, I love that part of Texas, I didn't spend much time in Alpine but it looked cute and I'd like to get back there. I hope you make a video of Terlingua! :)

Don't let the wait shake ya, it takes over an hour to checkout the trading post! When I was there March 2020 the food was outstanding! Very special place, the whole area, I'm putting it on my list of must visit annually places
The people that live in and around Terlingua have a different view about tourism then most places, the natural and man made resources get scarce real quick, especially gas and water when huge influxes of people show up.
Thank you for sharing that. I think it makes sense to want to preserve resources for local folks in the area and be a bit cautious of tourism. I grew up in Arizona and now wonder if we should have been a bit more protective about water.
I was there in 1988 at my grandpa Joe's Route 99 where he had chili cook off's,,.and huge hamburgers..my mom and step dad got married there at grandpa's bar. Very very quiet place at that time. I don't think i ever seen more than 5-10 people a day
My childhood friend lived here and when he passed away we attended his funeral. A grand place
Terlingua is a grand place and I’m glad you got to visit but I’m sorry for the loss of your friend.
Wow! I'm the guitar player in the video during the Starlight segment! My friend's daughter just sent it to me. How cool!
I'm so glad she saw that and mentioned you here! I really enjoyed listening to you!
Ha

That's the kind of place I'd like to spend some time getting to know. The people look like a good crowd
I know the guy who was playing on stage at the starlight theater. His name is Darren Kobetich! He tours all over and he’s an amazing musician.
thank you for sharing his info!
@@solorvliving2118 of course! Thank you so much for uploading this!

Went to a chili cookoff in Terlinga back in my 20"s. Had a great time.
Oh I'd love to make it to the chili cook off, that sounds like a good time.
