Hi Simon, thanks for a greate video, one question, If á webpage already has Google Analytics tracking through Google Tag manager, is the covering GA for every page of the webside or only the Woocommerce part?
Hey Lárus, you will need to remove the Google Analytics portion of the code from your Tag Manager implementation (by either removing that tag manager script, or removing the Google Analytics tag from your Tag Manager implementation) to use the plugin..This plugin will also track GA on every page of the site.
Hi Simon thanks for your very informative video, does the plug-in track only the woocommerce pages? if so, should I add a new plug-in for google analytics that track page views of the whole website? thanks
Hey Michele! In the plugin settings, check the box "Enable Standard Tracking". This is needed if WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration is the only Google Analytics plugin on your site.
What is the url to your site? Do you have any other google analytics tracking codes setup on your site? Did you paste in the correct UA- number? Are you using a standard WooCommerce site?
Great video, Simon. Quick question - is there a way to integrate Universal Analytics and Google Analytics 4 properties at the same time? Based on my current research, it seems like additional plug-ins may be needed in order to accomplish this but wanted to see if you had any insight there. Thanks, appreciate it!
Out of the two available GA types, which one would you go for now? The plugin works with both UA and GA4 but since GA4 does not support enhanced ecommerce tracking, I cannot really decide which one is the best option to go for. GA4 lacks data to some extent but will soon become the analytic tool everyone will be using. UA on the other hand is the norm right now and providing a fair amount of data but will be faded in a couple of years. Google suggest users to have both tags on their site, but when it comes to woocommerce tracking, there is only one to pick :|
Thank you. Does it matter that my Google Analytics doesn't generate a tracking ID? I don't have tracking code. I only have a Measurement ID that begins with a "G-xxxxxxxxxx". I used to have a UA but cannot find it any more (no idea why). This plugin does have a spot for "G-xxxxxxxxxx" instead of UA.
Apparently it is recommended to use the Google Analytics 4, but to be able to see the tracking ID, you have to go into Advanced Settings when creating the property. support.google.com/analytics/answer/9539598?hl=en
Hey Liz! There is no specific reason and just a habit. If a plugin is a paid plugin I have to download on WooCommerce or the developer's website instead of in the plugins area. For this plugin I could have just installed in the plugins area :)
Great Video Simon. If you’re looking for new video ideas would love to see how you speed up woocommerce websites. Reduce bloat, page load etc. Also you go to plug-in stack for every website build.
Thanks Craig! I am in the process of making a video for site speed. I have a blog post written but just need to make the video. Also, I think it would be cool to do a before/after for site speed. Do you have a WooCommerce site that I could use for a case study? I could do all the optimizations on a staging site. If so, can you reach out to contact@sgwebpartners.com? Cheers!
Informative, thanks. Might want to include the bit about G4 vs UA tracking codes (not sure if G4 was available when you made this). But, by default it created a G4 tracking code, and of course it doesn't work with WooCommerce. So, I had to figure that out and then create a new property in Analytics to create the UA code...and then I had to deactivate and reactive the analytics plugin since it didn't want to update in my Wordpress site. Hopefully this helps someone who runs into the same issue.

Hi, great solution. I wonder if it will work wit GA4 which will be the only one in 15 monhts? :)
Yes it works with GA4
Thanks for the tutorial. It looks like the light is too close from you. Too Bright ! Did you notice on site speed from this plugin ?
Thanks for the feedback about the lighting! I did not notice anything with site speed for this plugin.
Thanks for the info.
can it create problems if tracking with gtm is also active?
Yes if in your GTM you have tag for GA yes this can cause problems. Look at the WooCommerce GA Docs

Thanks I did setup as per your guide. But for some reasons it's not tracking sales in analytics ecommerce section.
Any idea why?

Well your answer came today. Google will phase out UA in July 2023, so better hop on the GA4 train lol
For GA4, do i need to turn on any settings on Google Analytics?
I don't have ecomm settings in google analytics or even that whole third column

Awesome man exactly what I was after would be cool to see a google ads tutorial for ecom search ads
Is there a reason you don't download the plugin in the plugins area? Instead of having to go to Woo commerce Site?

If i check " Enable Universal Analytics", I don't need to check enable standard tracking also. Am I correct?
This was so good, thank you so much!
glad it was helpful!
hey everyone, i set up this plugin but i'm not receiving all the transactions made on my page:( can someone help me? plsss
Hey Daniel! You have to wait at least 24 hours to see the data in your Google Analytics account. Did you ever solve this or get this figured out?
Why I can't find ecommer set up from google analytics?
Thanks!
glad it was helpful Denis!
Hi Simon, could you recommend any woocommerce whatsapp checkout?
I never had used this but you could try the WhatsApp for WooCommerce plugin: sgwp.dev/m62
