I dont do much calisthenics but ive been trying these mainly to work the serratus anterior
Yeah. T right scapula is not wanting to contract
Question, how are you suppose to keep them depressed when going down?
It's tough but achievable, I can't say how you should do it beyond the cue of pulling your shoulders down towards your butt.
@@UnityGymOnline ohhhh I see now, I got confused with the forgotten terminology. Pretty much making sure your shoulders don't go up to your ears
Can you tell me one thing please, if we're doing scapula push ups, is it okay to bend spine slightly or we should not bend our spine since the range of motion is very low its hard to understand, let me know please
@@UnityGymOnlinethank you so much, we should keep our spine neutral while protracting our scapula, thanks for answering me
Whats the main point of these? Started calisthenics 2 months ago and i still dont understand the use for them.
If you ever want to be able to do a planche, you need to protract your shoulder blades with all your weight in your arms. If you can't do 5 sets of 8-10 of these, you have no chance of doing a planche.
Plus they help with general shoulder strength.
i suffer from scapular winging, will it fix it or make it worse if i try this?
it will help, but there's more that needs to be done. Please watch this video ua-cam.com/video/rnGqqL6OrKE/v-deo.html
@@cxm685 you're welcome, do those 3 workouts each week for 4 weeks and report back to me :)
lol this does nothing but maybe stretch the muscle
So you've commented on an exercise you don't understand. And rather than ask a question and learn something, you've made a statement as though you know better than a coach.
Buddy, you have a lot to learn. Here's a lesson that can help ... you know far less than you think. When you see something you don't understand, it's an opportunity to learn.
But when you make a statement like this, trying to discredit someone who has far more experience than you, or trying to pose as someone with experience, you just keep yourself from levelling up.
How often should 1 do scapula push ups? 2x a week?
@DaN3xtEconomist you're welcome, just make sure to pair this with a straight arm pulling movement like the arch scapular pull in
@@UnityGymOnline do you thing scapula pull up, scapula push up. And scapula pull in a body row position are enough?
@@M.K-SAVE sorry man, I didn't see this. I can't say if that's enough or not. And whatever works for you now will need to be changed soon.
It's really important to work with a coach if you aren't progressing and have hit a plateau
Can't agree more. This scapula pushups are very underrated. They helped me stabilizing shoulders in over head press exercises.
Yeah they are a very effective exercise
