Second spring on double movement like this usually keeps the main spring fully powered until the end, so the watch doesn't lose time while spring is unwinding. English is not my 1st language, so I may sound confusing. But Watchfinder & Co was describing that in one of his videos.
Why put a “60” on the minute wheel instead of “00” ? I mean , it should read 12:00 at a glance...not 12:60

I like the simple strap, it lets the interesting face stand out more, just kind of fades into the background and lets the case and face be the star of the show. Very interesting time machine.

I read that the movement of the Egard Quantas V3 is manufactured in collaboration with a Chinese manufacturer. Why did Egard not use a Miyota movement when they say they have taken such great pains to design and craft their watches?
I applaud any watch manufacturer willing to be daring enough to make a piece like this, and it seems like the quality of the piece is befitting the price.
Having said that...this one doesn't resonate with me. I'd much have preferred a single exposed balance wheel and keep it asymmetric; the extra one that does little to nothing makes this feel more like a show piece, rather than something attempting to make a cohesive statement.

That is a crazy looking watch! Super interesting, but not for me I think. Is that movement even servicable? I've heard Glasgow used to be a really rough town. I used to know a guy with a "Glasgow Smile".

Nice review and the watch looks good...looks unfortunately I lost interest when I saw the difference in spin in the second wheel and than I defo changed my mind when it was confirmed the second wheel was placed only for looks... Shame cos it really look good and I was interested. A fake second balance wheel?? Really? I know is cheap for what u get but add a 20% to the price of it , but make it work... Is like adding diamonds no point what so ever to the meccanics of the watch.....

Had this dual balance movement in the Xeric soloscope and it’s broken down twice needing repair the first time and full. I’ve lent replacement the second time. I’d steer clear of these movement although they look fantastic.
It was on rotation to be used at most once a week. Never dropped, bumped, or abused in any way. Just would stop working. First time it was about 10 months in, and after being fixed it lasted a few more before needing to be fixed once again.
It's quite striking. Not in my wheelhouse, but I like it. Good on ya, Egard!
Ok. I've clearly been wasting my money and life on smartwatches. I never even considered a cool timepiece like this. I'll be throwing my smartwatch in the closet and buying something like this for sure. Thank you for the video and luring me in this world.
Smart watches are a waste of wrist space as your phone is always with you, with all the features you'll ever need. Not to mention the low battery life which you can't depend on if you ever travelled far or even got stuck in a situation where you can't find a charger. Good old wristwatches are always dependable and is a practical technology that just does what it is supposed to do.
The price is also reasonable
If it has hands to tell the time, yeah, old school, I’d like it. Nice design for the money.

I'm enough of a watch enthusiast to find the unique characteristics of this watch fascinating & fun, but still, it's just not for me. $400 bucks is too much for me to blow on something kind of cool, but one that the novelty will eventually wear off. Great review though!
The bestdon version of this watch is also beautiful and I believe it's more affordable too

I thought that your review you missed a huge design flaw with crown not fitting evenly. I think that make it very amateurish looking as there is a big gap. It should have not been sold like that

Watch is nice as you say. Got mine last week. Only knock I have on this watch is the deployant clasp. I have other watches with deployant clasp. Somehow this one is not comfortable on the wrist. I can throw a replacement band on this watch but somehow I'm thinking a brand new watch with a brand new band should not have to be replaced with another brand new band that is comfortable.

Certainly a conversation piece, seems way to tall. I would imagine the sapphire will be almost impossible to replace and service is probably only with Egard.

Comparing UFC to a "Saturday night" in Glasgow excellent. That is one of the weirdest watches I have ever seen! I don't know what to think about it.
I recently purchased a Phoibos Ocean Master, a really nice watch even though I'm not a fan of diver watches, but I would put in the same category of this watch - a novelty. Claimed to gave a diving depth of 1000 meters and sporting a hydrogen release valve, just like this watch, it's down to bragging rights. This Egard is a dress watch, a talking piece but to me not at all practical.
Saturday night... Too funny! Cool watch, I guess they have a "William Shatner" version too!

Faux snake skin strap would definitely have been in keeping with the Mayan calendar.
The new carbon fiber beast is nicer in my opinion. The rush version is the nicest overall.
It’s a nice watch.
Had the carbon beast , i loved the sapphire glass but the movement was junk kept terrible time and had finger prints and debris all in the movement . Unless they use better movements I wouldn't buy from them again.

I agree, I wouldn't mind that price if it was from a reputable watch company but from a new microbrand, it's hard to justify that price in my opinion.
I decided to buy one over the summer for curiosity.
They aren’t made well. The minute dial popped off and the customer service has ignored all my inquiries.
Happy to see a new design, all the details, but the heart of the watch... Just no!.

How can they confuse one culture with another and create a product with the wrong name? It is a big mistake.
I'ts not confused... its a tzolkin calendar... these calendars are in museums dating to mayan times. The aztek calendar is highly based off of the mayan calendar.. its a giant misconception that the maya calendar was the one commonly portrayed they had multiple variations of it some more religious than others with different purposes...
