I'm putting this on a bolt gun. Great review as always you're the best in the business. You should really be in contact with more scope vendors and manufacturers to demo and test their products. You have the most comprehensive reviews
Picked one up used for $100 off a local gun forum. Also a set of medium Leupold Mark 4 scope rings for $40 and tall Leupold Mark 4 scope rings for $50. Couple of weeks ago picked up a set of Burris XTR High scope rings for $40. About the only rifle related items that you can get a deal on during these crazy times.
The tac levers as you mention in the beginning are actually a lever with a larger section for you to grab. That little nub on the releasing mechanism is just their updated design.
I owned 2 of these and found them subpar due to the inexplicable gap at the bottom of the clam shells. this gap, I believe, resulted in some scope creep over time. and, yes, I used proper torque each time
I just sent my ADM Recon back and replaced it a Scalarworks LEAP mount. Could never get it to tighten down on the upper no matter how much I messed around with it.
I was having just a tiny bit of creep myself. Decided to take it completely apart, clean all points of connection with denatured alcohol and instead of using loctite I used vibratite Vc3. Ended up going 1.5 in ibs higher than recommended torque specs and so far everything is perfect after maybe 1500 rounds.
Better late then never. Did you torque the top first? If so don't do that. Snug the bottom screws to remove the gaps. Set the scope in the proper position, then torque the bottom then torque the top. I have 8 of these mounts. Never came across that issue unless you start in the with position
ADM mounts and their rifles are good to go. They have a skeletonized, all-titanium mount that is half the weight too, as well as aluminum mounts with titanium levers that shave off a couple ounces.
There's an "extended" 3 inch version now. I couldn't decide which to get, so I got the extended "Recon X" because it was on sale at PA for $168. Would be sweet to see a video comparing the two and why you'd want the extended. Maybe just for the eye relief? Not sure.
I just picked up one for 145 bucks new. I wish I knew about the different qd levers. This is my very first qd mount, hopefully it works out nicely. Pairing it with a Trijicon tr25. Something else I failed to notice was that the center height sits at 1.4 instead of 1.5. I already have to get a pretty solid cheek weld going with my 1.5 so I'm curious if 0.1 is going to make any kind of difference.
i tried one of these in 30mm and no amount of tightening (starting with recommended torque settings) would remove the wobble from where the rings meet the mount. returned it
Hello. Excellent and informative video. I was just wondering if it would be possible to raise this so you don’t have to lower your head to look through the sight?? Thank you and thank you for your timely response
I own quite a few AD products. American Made, legit quality and performance without the sexy curves and cuts. It’s blue collar shit for Master Tradesmen. Snap-On without the Bling and $$$. Craftsmen before they sucked…..
@@JackRR15 I'm sure the scout is fine with the 1 lever. But I'm of the mindset that I don't mind a Touch more weight to have something potentially twice as capable
@@CDOES Ok thanks lol my comment was made a bit impulsivly as I ordered a mount at the same time when I ordered my Primary Arms SLX Gen IV Nova, the American Defense Scout and I seem to not find any information online about it, even on the American Defense website directly=, it is very lacking for the Scout. I hope it's not like a discontinued model becasue single lever wasn't working well or something. My sanity was having trouble waiting haha
@@CDOES But yes you make a good point and I do regret not ordering the 2 lever one, looking at it it's only 30$ more from the store here. Ahh oh well I guess I'll have to wait and see

I just bought one of these for my Razor HD Gen II-E 1-6x24!
Nice! That seems to be a popular combo.
Same optic I'm looking for a mount for.
Edit: Recon otw
Awesome mount. I also have my Razor 1-6 in an ADM Recon.
Good setup!
I've never been so excited to spend money on a scope mount!
Here here! 1 year late on my reply lol
Just upgraded to one of these for my Viper PST II 1-6. Great review, love all your content!
Im about to do the same!
How do you like your PST?! Looking to buy one soon
@@nationalsoccrchamp23 its a great optic
@@nationalsoccrchamp23 Just got mine it's amazing it's way better than the strike eagle
I just picked up their delta (non clamshell) model, really impressed. I guess I got lucky with tack levers I didn’t know they had different ones.
I'd love to try those out. One day I'll pick one up.
I was looking at this and the EOTech PRS 2 for my Vudu 1-10, and between this review and your other mega comparison, you sold me!

Good to know I made marks a fool in that one. The nub is the way to go
Agreed, the larger tac levers extend downward at the ends of the levers. They were designed more for shooters who prefer wearing gloves.
@Iowa5.56 the draw back is, the tac levers don't come in the lighter titanium version. At least that what I gather from their website.
Excellent analysis, thank you.

Good to know thanks for the honest review
@@CDOES I would assume that I followed the instructions because I'm that guy. Yet, my experience is my experience and that's what I wrote.
Welcome back (thanks on this one)

Ultimately that's just for a specific shooter needing a specific setup
Great, thorough review!
Thanks for the review. Will this hold the ATN Thor4 Thermal scope 30mm?
I don't see why not. As long as the center erector housing is t longer then thr inner most part of the mount rings

Very strange. Did you reach about to AD?
Were you sure to use loctite or vibratite Vc3?
Great video! I’m torn between this standard Recon and the extended Recon-x. Do you have any recommendations between the two? Thanks
1913 mil-spec picitiny rails are all the same width. The hieght and space of slots are the same. only length of rail is different.

There a couple of heights to choose from including 1.93
How much are the optional new clamps (e.g. if you buy a 30mm option, what are new clamps for 34mm or 1” that I assume can interchange)??
They are $70 direct from them. Or around $65 elsewhere.

It’s such a pain in the ass to work with vertical ring mounts
How so
I’m gonna go one step further. I’m putting this on a bolt action .22lr. Overkill. Yep.
Never enough overkill
What are the torque specs for this mount??
20 to 25 pounds
what do we think about the titanium levers? how are those better or worse?
I honestly can't see how they'd benefit the end user. The weight savings would be minimal. I'd save my money.
They look cooler and say titanium on them. Looking cool is all that really matters when it comes to our guns 😎
@@MilspecPanda i got the titanium levers for $10 more. i cant tell if theyre worth it with my sample size of 1 but they look cool haha

What material are the levers on the standard? Steel or polymer?
Steel
Man I don't get it? Everyone has the Recon model and no one shows the scout with the single lever. Arghh I hope I didn't buy something useless
