Thanks for the video, it explained this stuff better than the ten others I watched. I have complained for years that advertisements were so much louder than programming, especially on FM radio and cable tv. Now I know what they were doing.

Great info about loudness.
I thought I would point out a handy tip for anyone wanting to measure the loudness of any song without having to play though from start to end using the LM2. On the TC electronic website it says you need pro-tools to offline measure using LM2 this isn't correct. I can do it using cubase and I have posted a video if you want to have a go. TC Electronic LM2 offline faster than real time measuring using Cubase

Can you still download this LM2 meter from TC Electronics?
-their site says its discontinued, but you can still download the ilok 14 day trial license to your ilok...
I'd like to give it a try / buy if its still available.

It appears the is nowhere to download the actual meter once you apply for the trial licence. (Tried the LM2n)
I've now activated the license yesterday with nothing to use it on. :(
