Arthur wanted that money. But he wanted Micah dead more! I love how he tells Dutch throughout the game “he’s not in the revenge business”, yet in the bad ending his final act is one of revenge.
I don't think it was so much about revenge, just taking care of the problem. If he eliminated Micah and possibly Dutch as well then that would ensure that they couldn't go after John or any of the other gang members in the future. He wasn't really thinking about revenge for himself but putting Micah and Dutch down before they could spread any more chaos.
It was revenge because he gave up Mary for Dutch the family life John has in 1907 till 1911 he didn't get to have and everything he seen in chapter 6 from what he done to the Downs family as a result of following Dutch's influence and seeing characters like Charlotte and Hamish made him realize he could reject civilization without a life of crime.

Going back for the money with high honor is the most slept on ending of all time. Its literally just as awesome if not even more as the cliff ending, just not as heroic
To me this ending is what a good man would do, when everything has been broken by betrayal and they've completely had enough of it, there's no care left just anger and revenge
I feel like if they worded this ending differently as “get revenge” or “hold Pinkertons and Dutch back from reaching John” instead of “go back for the money”, more people would try it. It’s a shame many people miss out on this. It has one of the most hype moments in the game and amazing music.
I staged a zombie/rebel war in gmod with a red dead music pack in the bg, and this played right when my entire army died and I was having a last stand against the zombies. Badass.
This is the music I put on as I crawl threw a dark dingy crawl space covered in grease to fix refrigeration equipment for some of Chicago's busiest fast food joints. "You want punishment."
I’ve never thought of this as a “bad” ending. Arthur helps John either way, whether he goes with him or goes back and holds off Dutch and Micah while John gets away
This "game" will never be rivaled. Ive been playing video games since 1985, i was 3. Ive played every flagship franchise from Nintendo and Sony and everywhere in between. Nothing will ever compare to the story, emotion, exploration, and sheer thrill of playing this "game" through to its finish, 100% percent completion as Arthur.
This is the canon ending! The ending where Arthur helps John to get away and then go back to find the money FOR JOHN! While also seeking revenge from Micah cuz yeah deep down he still cares for Dutch! This explains why John never talked about Arthur the “you are my brother” ending comes to a contrast with the idea that in RDR1 he isn’t even mentioned. Arthur went for the money for John and Jack.
I never knew Nas was the one rapping until I actually took the time to watch the end credits before searching this song. I always thought that was Lenny's voice actor doing that.
I'm getting to the last leg of my final 100% completionist playthrough, and I'm seriously tempted to do the 'Go back for the money' ending, even though I'm high-honor all the way. On one hand, charging in to commit that final righteous act of vengeance, getting this badass music, and giving Micah that scar over his eye. On the other hand, as Arthur says himself: "Vengeance is a fools game." And to do otherwise would just feel like going against everything his character has been building up for.

Going back for the money with high honor is the most slept on ending of all time. Its literally just as awesome if not even more as the cliff ending, just not as heroic
To me this ending is what a good man would do, when everything has been broken by betrayal and they've completely had enough of it, there's no care left just anger and revenge
“Dutch…”
“Micah…”
“Come and get me you bastards.”
Arthur was so mad, his mind and ears time travelled to have sick battle music
I feel like if they worded this ending differently as “get revenge” or “hold Pinkertons and Dutch back from reaching John” instead of “go back for the money”, more people would try it. It’s a shame many people miss out on this. It has one of the most hype moments in the game and amazing music.
I
RISE
TO
THE TOP
I CANNOT BE STOP
I STAND
UNSHAKEN
I staged a zombie/rebel war in gmod with a red dead music pack in the bg, and this played right when my entire army died and I was having a last stand against the zombies. Badass.
Wow.
OBUNGA😊

Hey it's you...
@@greycatofnobodys2007 I know. Where have you seen me before?
Geek
0:00 "See you around John Marston"
"Dutch, Micah come and get me you bastards"
"DUTCH!"
This is the music I put on as I crawl threw a dark dingy crawl space covered in grease to fix refrigeration equipment for some of Chicago's busiest fast food joints.
"You want punishment."
So awesome hearing my favorite rapper in my favorite game.
1:48, 2:12 this theme is so good
Breaking through a crowd of Pinkertons with only one revolver and getting to Miki, proving that he is a real gunslinger of the wild west 👺
I like to think if Arthur successfully took the money he would of given it to John and then go back again to fight micah
That's prolly what would have happened
nah he would prob try to run he didnt care about micah and the revenge
I’ve never thought of this as a “bad” ending. Arthur helps John either way, whether he goes with him or goes back and holds off Dutch and Micah while John gets away
No matter what ending the themes are just sick asf
The prompt was to go for the money, but I had something different on my mind...
*Confront Dutch*
New name idea for this badass song.
-----------
*Come And Get Me, You Bastards.*
hey, that's a good name
This "game" will never be rivaled. Ive been playing video games since 1985, i was 3. Ive played every flagship franchise from Nintendo and Sony and everywhere in between. Nothing will ever compare to the story, emotion, exploration, and sheer thrill of playing this "game" through to its finish, 100% percent completion as Arthur.
*"Dutch...*
*_Micah..._*
*_COME N' GIT MEH, YA BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"_*
💢💢💢 🔫 🤠 😡 🔫 💢💢💢
“Micah, Dutch, Come and get you bastards…!” moment🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
I dunno, this ost always manage to convince me to get this ending.
i've watched what would happen if you went for the money with high honor, now i feel like i have to replay the game because i saved john :/
From ps1 and xbox to ps4 and xbox 1 :enjoying games no matter graphics and fps
Ps5 and series s/x: fps and graphics only matter nothing else
This is the canon ending! The ending where Arthur helps John to get away and then go back to find the money FOR JOHN! While also seeking revenge from Micah cuz yeah deep down he still cares for Dutch! This explains why John never talked about Arthur the “you are my brother” ending comes to a contrast with the idea that in RDR1 he isn’t even mentioned. Arthur went for the money for John and Jack.
@Mert Selcuk Save John high honor is canon
arthur isnt mentioned in rdr2 because they didnt know they were gonna make a prequel
@@namedclaiming821 and who told you that?
@@friendlyhere7042 the game automatically chooses that if you take too long to decide
@Mert Selcuk Rockstar did NOT say that.
❌ Bad ending
✅ Badass ending
If the option said Kill Micah, no one would go with John
“ It’s him , It’s Arthur Morgan “
I never knew Nas was the one rapping until I actually took the time to watch the end credits before searching this song. I always thought that was Lenny's voice actor doing that.
201 subscriber here thank you for helping me hear this
If the option said “go back to kill micah” that would be a whole different story
It’s not “Go for the money”, it’s “go for revenge”
This entire song just stands out and it makes this scene so unnerving
"I RISE TO THE TOP"
Everybody gangster until arthur morgan arrive with this song
Be safe.
The best song hardly anybody heard in RDR2
Dutch! Micah!
Ending: A homie risking his life to save another homie's life, and giving the homie money
OST: Badass
"I'll see you around, John Marston."
I wish this song had more lyrics in it. Nas being in this song was unexpected and hype
Walking to my calc test retake for redemption I had to put this song on
So badass that they used Nas for that line at the beginning
I'm getting to the last leg of my final 100% completionist playthrough, and I'm seriously tempted to do the 'Go back for the money' ending, even though I'm high-honor all the way. On one hand, charging in to commit that final righteous act of vengeance, getting this badass music, and giving Micah that scar over his eye. On the other hand, as Arthur says himself: "Vengeance is a fools game." And to do otherwise would just feel like going against everything his character has been building up for.
