They are living my dream :O
It hasn't been long that I stumbled onto your channel. I loved the way you tell the stories of each farm. It just lights up my day. Hopefully, one day I'll also have a farm of my own!
Thank you so much for your kind words! That means a lot!!
So envy so much greens ...
I've really been enjoying this series of vlogs! I'm probably not going to rush out and get a pair of wooden gardening shoes, but it's awfully cool to know that they are carrying on the tradition as part of their heritage! Very nice operation for only a second year grower. Paper pot transplanter is also a game changer, along with the quick cut greens harvester! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Tom! Not sure I'm ready to start wearing wooden shoes either, but it's super cool that they actively do! Appreciate the encouragement!
These small farm spotlights are so so cool I love that you share these farmers stories
Thank you! We really appreciate the encouragement!
Love these videos!
Thank you!
Awesome 👍

Mooi bedrijf!
Fabulous series - subscribed and looking forward to the next vid!
Awesome, thank you!
Very amazing
A few suggestions for you to make more money. Have an all year crop like lettuce that you grow in a designated greenhouse that you heat in the winter and cool in the summer with a heat pump (or whatever else you figure out). We grow on shelves (four high) with LED grow lights over every shelf. In a 6 X 18 meter greenhouse you can put 14 grow stations and the yield is $70,000 net American. That’s selling at $2/head wholesale and $3/head retail.
Growing lettuce all year, you always have an income; your customers are HAPPY; and you can sell to stores and restaurants who will dismiss you if you can’t supply product continuously.
Garlic is another great cash crop because it commands a good price; you can sell it over the internet; and 80% of the world’s supply comes from. China, but that situation is changing rapidly. I hope this helps, and kudos on the family and kids. They’re the only real wealth.
Thanks for the suggestions and the kind words!
Best business model for any farm is to charge people for giving free advice. I am getting started this year growing vegetables for market and it has been years in the making. During all this time people think it's a good idea to give advice completely out of context like "Hey you should do flowers/wine/essential oils/herbal tea, there is much more money in that". Give people the freedom to make their own business choices depending on their ambitions, values and context. If you follow every advice you get you will never get into farming.
great video! Love you guys
Thanks so much!!
SUPER!
Sangat menarik dan sepertinya menyenangkan. Bercocok tanam . Dengan keluarga

I do not mean to sound patronising or snide. I'm genuinely constantly amazed by how good Europeans are at learning languages. The English spoken here might have had a slight accent but was flawless.
@@1234hijs Nope - did I say that? Its was what you just described that I was complimenting - openness and interest towards other cultures and the willingness to make the effort to learn languages. And no I'm not American although I don't know what you are implying. I certainly know several polyglot Americans - and Brits, but they are the exception. Like you I'm comfortable in 4 languages and speak maybe two more at a lower level of proficiency. The nice things is that this foundation allows me follow the gist of what's being said in perhaps a couple more so suddenly the world is a lot more interesting!
What type of cherry tomatoes are they? Also what type of lettuce is the most profitable? In the U.S. Boston type bib lettuce is popular, Iceberg is all you can find in the stores, but they no flavor and the vitamins are lower. I like Butter crunch (bib) and a mix of early prizehead, and black seed simpson, both loose leaf. I get hungry watching you harvest your lettuce. My wife is Asian so we plant some Asian types as well.
🤩
Plz give me a chance work with you,
I heartily congratulate you both, 🙏
I love nature ❤️😍
How can I get it just tell me plzz
What varieties are ur tomatoes

Please tell us the names of the two implements you were using. The one appeared to be laying down seedlings; the other was picking small, tender greens. What are they called? Thank you from Pennsylvania.
Sure thing! The first one laying down seedlings (long orange tool) is called the Paperpot Transplanter, and the green one is called the Quick Cut Greens Harvester-a tool that we actually designed, manufacture, and sell at www.farmersfriend.com. 🙂
@@FarmersFriend Thanks very much for the information. We are all still locked down here but I can't wait to start my garden in the spring. It will be a small undertaking compared to your heroic efforts. Heel erg bedankt.
I like the seed transplanter. Where can i get that ?
I believe what you are referring to is the Paperpot Transplanter. A quick google search should show you a few options where you can purchase it.
@@FarmersFriend i see. Thank you Farmers Friend. I got tons of information from your video. I really appreciate your work and hope can learning more from you 😁
Awesome! Glad to hear it!
hello! I have been given a square meter to plant my own crops and I would like to start growing food sustainably and learn about it! What would you recommend growing there now, in winter?r
That's an exciting start! Spinach, radishes, or lettuce mix could be some good options to start with in the colder months. :)
@@FarmersFriend dankjewel
Hey Farmer's Friend! Tell me about this really long wheel barrel, one wheel cart?!? You guys got any? Can you import this?
Ian Jerolmack Make your own out of wood if you don’t weld. About an hour’s work.
It's a typical extended Dutch wheelbarrow, made for crate transport. With starter welding kit you can extend any wheelbarrow really. Just make sure to load them correctly, as Gosse does here, otherwise they will fall on their side. (Everyone does that once when using these)
Unfortunately we don't sell these! Gosse's farm was the first place we had seen them ourselves and we were quite intrigued! Maybe we'll start making something like this someday. :)
@@FarmersFriend it's called a 'ramenwagen' in Dutch, if you want to search for an example for inspiration
it is organic farm or inorganic farm
They are completely organic.
@@FarmersFriend so which type of organic fertilizer was used in this farm
I'm not sure. I'd suggest you reach out to them directly.
Joug je's face look like Bollywood actress his name is kalki koechlin
YHWH’s Blessings be to you and your families!
we are not against hard work but I think you should work smart...
I've always said if you want to make it in farming you need to work hard and smart.

"I do the finance and the social media..."
So basically... you dont do anything while he does all the manual stuff!
kevin reginald She has a toddler and an infant to care for, which I guarantee you isn’t doing nothing.
That can be half of a business, the man is lucky and I wish this family all the best growing forward
To be honest, I think he's quite lucky to do 'just' the manual work. Don't think for a second that what his partner is doing is easy - bringing up a child, being a housewife and doing the general running of the farm will take up a lot of hours
@@moi7748 Riiight...!
The answers were cut short at a few places. My wife works three days a week elsewhere, which provides for our family and allows me to do farming fulltime. If she’s not working she’s at home with our kids and helps with farmstuff she can do from home, such as finance, social media en getting the orders in from our customers. You can see a more detailed explanation in the full interview at about 10:50: ua-cam.com/video/6pmh4urtVVU/v-deo.html
