Sounds more like you need a new snap on dealer, but if you got a HF nearby then that’s a good option as well, easy warranty process without hassles of the rep. But with tools that goes for all brands just on who you deal with and how they take care of ya
You have a dealer problem. Dont blame the tool because your dealer is shitty. Those Pittsburgh rachets will break way more than most snap ons will and they have sloppy gearsets with horrible back drag that will make working in tight spaces a chore. Theyre fine of your starting out or DIY but most techs will benefit from professional grade rachets.
My dealer will warranty anything for me. He even warrantied a 3 year old folding light that only had a 1 year warranty. Im sure his dealer wont warranty it for a reason he didnt share but the dealer is definitely the problem
Why not? Plenty of tool companies will warrenty then no questions asked. And they replace the whole tool, not just throw a kit in your old tool. I have a bunch of snap on stuff... But it's hard to justify

I love the responses from everyone saying find a new snap on dealer. But if it’s up to the dealer to make that choice it’s always going to be an issue especially if you’re a new client. As much as I love snappy tools the freight is always going to beat the warranty. Quality is nice and all but that’s only if it works. I’m sure that clients car you’re working on won’t mind if you have a snappy ratchet or a harbor freight ratchet.

I don't give him enough buisness, he told me he'd warranty my stuff and then never gets back to me on my warranty request, my guess is I only bought 2 tools from him in the past year. He could careless about my concerns because I could care less about making him money.
@@peterjedsawyer4364 I don't blame you, I wouldn't buy anything from a clown like that. Had a Mac tool guy like that once. Guy I worked with bought his big Mac boxes and most of his tools from him. He would refuse to replace for him several times. I never bought anything from because of that.
Haha! Yeah. I've used Snap-On stuff (never owned any), I don't see anything about them that warrants their insane prices. I don't know about Harbor Freight. You don't have to go from one extreme to the other. Just go with something at Lowe's or Home Depot right in the middle.

100% agree
You definitely need a new dealer, I go to a guy who will warranty my broken tag sale finds. I don’t think they are supposed to do that
Definitely does, Never have I had an issue with warranting anything. Even things that broke from pure misuse.
Thats what snap-on built their brand on "if your tool says snap-on its warrantied for life no questions asked" but that seems to be going away.

Nice vid, bro. I just stopped by to see what the Snap-On pole riders have to say lmao.
Well tbh all ratchets become junk after much use urs look abused. Prob using it on way too tight of things where u should break out 1/2

Buy a repair kit once for the snap on every 3 to 5 trips to HF when they eventually wear out.
