Thanks for part 2. Because of the long pause after part 1, I thought perhaps you'd done a 'desertfox' and infamously not going to release the other parts of the radio/comms guide. Hope we don't have to wait too long for part 3. Cheers.

With your embarrassing story about the FM setting: I was at a MilSim and I put it into my vest, while I was running, it must've pushed buttons because I began to hear the conversations of nearby street racers (where i play is out of the city and so there's not as many cops so people street race) I was able to hear what was going on and I had a conversation with them until I realized they weren't part of the milsim and inst ad street racers, the next day I accidently put it into the semi truck radio channel and that confused me a lot until I realized.

Remember to follow FCC or your telecommunications agencys frequency allocations and power limits.

FCC and IC rules don’t make sense.
If you’re interfering with others that’s one thing, but the part certifications and other bullshit as for what radio can be used on any specific band is insanely stupid.

Excellent App to program the Radio is CHIRP. Program is a free download, but you do need a cable which is available from Amazon. Maybe do a video on how to program it.

Great video! And to anyone reading in the U.K., don’t listen to the self-appointed band police you can see in the comments crying about licensing. Nobody is getting the electric chair for using a baofeng UV-5R / similar on PMR446 frequencies. If you were the first case to EVER be prosecuted for this, then they’d likely give you a fine and consider the matter closed, as official 446Mhz frequencies are for anyone’s use, and the power output isn’t bleeding over silly amounts of channels from a simple UV5R. Even in urban environments, you’d be lucky to bleed over other people’s transmissions, and it’d only be the case that you’re done if they report you to Ofcom, or the police stop you for some reason… but they know less about radio than the scaremongerers on here. You just say it’s covered under the license free band and was sold to me as an airsoft radio, officer.
As long as you’re not turning it on and plugging in a random number, programme the 16 x 446Mhz frequencies - or if your club/ground has a business licence, program their frequencies. The point is that real crimes are happening every day, I promise you they really don’t care who is transmitting at 5W instead of 0.5.
Buy a UV5R, programme 446, enjoy your airsoft and leave these people to their scare tactics.

And that’s right, nobody has ever been prosecuted for it. The Freedom of Information request is published online ( REF: 01286071 ) and says itself that may issue specific guidance before taking action… and they never have.

@@link3693 In the United States, having an amplifier for CB (Civilian Band) radios is considered illegal. The legal power output is however 4 watts output (AM) or 12 watts output (SSB) which is measured at the antenna cable at the back of the radio. However, it is not illegal everywhere. Basically, you need a license for MOST channels, but not all
