@@magnusthered4973 i mean they did pretty well define death in the series as a vampire like being that feeds off death, as opposed to the more avatar like interpretations, so he probably does have to kill you. And remember these are all adaptations of video game bosses that you kill with very mortal characters in the games.
@@cephery8482 I also love the theme of wanting for power being akin to a parasite that you have to feed more and more. Not only carmilla but death too. He was an ancient spirit that fed off of death, though the most powerfull being in the series second only to dracula, it was stated multiple times that he wasn‘t death itself just a spirit that named itself as such and fed from something that‘s released when people die. He wanted to bring dracula back to cause mass genocide and in turn power up until there would be nothing left, so his greed would have eventually been his downfall if he succeeded and the world would‘ve been decimated he‘d starve HIMSELF to death ironically. Him bragging to trevor that he is „death“ just shows how far the power has gotten to him much like carmilla, he could have been fine feeding off of natural deaths running a stable existence like the sisters did when they ruled only over styria until carmilla got powerhungry and started fucking everything up for them.
@@shahmanjarulhasantasnim199 I doubt it. Issac didnt looked worried at all when the winged one shielded him. I can guess that one is his STRONGEST Devil he ever created.

Yeah, that Demon is Abel, Isaac's main Devil in the games. In those he had a power that allowed him to create a portal to other dimension (That looks like a shiny spot on the floor), and come out from it while exploding. I thought he would use that skill to protect Isaac from Carmilla's kamikaze attack, but using it's wings as a shield was pretty good too
Pride killed this women, not Isaac. She thought herself deserving of everything, but really she just became those crazy old men she thought she was fighting against.
Pretty much. She never wanted happiness. She became mad with power. She openly says how nothing will make her happy she just wants to take over the world. She wants to take each and every possible thing this world has For many reasons. For how she was wronged by old men. For how much she disrespects all the male leaders of her race and because she became obsessed with power
Carmella's voice actor is amazing with the really aggressive fighting and fatigued noises. Often the animation is made after voices are recorded. So imagining how she pictured the scene to create such an amazing voice acting performance for this is interesting.
Being a grown man finding yourself with a secret crush on a psychotic arsonist in Dexter, only to accidentally have a crush on the same actress as Carmilla. That voice gets me.
Well, not really even. His biggest advantage is his devil forge master dagger and the strong monsters to do a lot of the heavy lifting. Otherwise, Issac would fall quickly to Carmila, especially when she became bloodlusted
The way Isasc uses night creatures to compensate for lack of vampire superpowers is so badass. Man this character was incredible. Wouldn't mind a whole spin-off with him.
@Gentleman Murk first you said that isaac’s skin color isn’t accurate towards the source material now you’re saying that his skin color portrays forced diversity? you’re just grasping at straws at this point 🤣
@Gentleman Murk Honestly, this character is like a completely different character from the game version. Unlike black star fire this just feels like they’re finally doing a character justice. As he was not nowhere nearly fleshed out in the games.
I wasn’t expecting Isaac to actually grow as a person. He ended up following the path that Dracula wanted for him in the end. Dracula saved him so he would live, and he actually chose to in the end. He didn’t lose himself to the thirst of revenge like so many others.

I love Carmella’s screams you can really sense the anger, annoyance, and frustration she’s experiencing in this fight scene against Isaac. Such good voice acting and she sounds so bad ass.
What I found really interesting about this scene is the way it subverts a lot of tropes, one of them being "super-powered person holds off an entire army." This trope is seen in a lot of fantasy stories including Game of Thrones in the Battle of the Bastards. Castlevania always approached these fantastical premises of vampires and demons with realistic executions, and one of those is that sometimes sheer numbers will overwhelm you no matter how powerful or well prepared you are. Carmilla put up an amazing fight, and lasted for far longer than any human would. But she fell due to being overwhelmed and exhausted, which is usually what happens in situations like these. I remember being on the edge of my seat this entire fight because I legitimately didn't know how it would turn out, since whatever the outcome some trope would be subverted and I love that.
Eh nothing new with that Final Fantasy Crisis Core, RDR, Vikings, Saving Private Ryan, Scarface, 300 Did it. "Subvert this subvert that deconstruct this deconstruction that" Man people say those things alot don't they. Honestly it's so annoying at this point.
@@razzy9172 people just say buzzwords to jerk off what they like. The scene is great but like the idea of the one man army being taken down is hardly a new one or a “deconstruction” it’s literally the reason cu chulainn died in his myth showing just how old it is
I like that throughout the fight, Isaac remains composed and precise compared to Carmilla who, even with her tremendous strength and speed, is just flailing about like a wild animal.
Because when has Carmilla, the plotter, ever had to truly fight for her own survival? She's had Striga to fight, and most opponents can't match a vampire of her level. She can simply outspeed or outmuscle them, but Isaac was different. He cornered her, surrounded her, and wore her down.
@@TrueHylianKnight think that's generally true of most vampires that coast for hundreds of years on their enormous physical advantages, so when a slayer comes for them they are woefully underprepared.
Nothing wild about her sword technique. Defensive and offensive balance, no wasted moves mixed with efficient technique and martial arts combined with it . She's actually very effective. And pretty elegant and Tight with her sword play. And her sword has so many features which make it very deadly like that curved handle. She's a knowledgeable warrior with that sword. And is using a sword and skin alone. No cheap tricks. No bs. She did handle and entire army for a good while before dispatching herself.
To be honest even Dracula wasn’t that skilled. He was just so much more physically and magically powerful he couldn’t be beaten. Very few vampires are actually shown to be very skilled until this volume, with dragans mercenary vampires
“I am Carmilla of Styria and F*CK you! I win.” ...one of the best final lines from a character I’ve heard in a while. Plus she did it while standing in a ballroom floor’s worth of blood from her slaughtered prey.
@Grey Joker It was totally in character for her though. Its not like she has any legitimate argument or point to make in that moment, so she just lashes out and convinces herself she somehow won in the situation.
I think everyone here missed the point of carmilla speech. She wasnt a coward (This bitch really made a blood ocean from her enemies IN HEELS) She just wasn't going to let ANYONE kill her except her. Like she said, "Your not Worthy of my blood"

Isaac won this fight through patience and his night creatures. I also love the color scheme of both Carmilla and Isaac, it conveys their differences and how Isaac changed an carmilla refused to which in the end killed her.
@@papabear6611 Yes, I think this also contributed to how Isaac changed in that he didn't kill Hector and because of this change Hector, in turn, helped Isaac. I do wonder if Isaac would have been able to successfully kill Carmilla without Hector's spell as Carmilla did try to escape but couldn't due to the spell and was forced to fight.
Animator here: What is so beautiful of that very first shot, is the whole fight is on 2's. (meaning each new drawing is held for 2 frames each) But in this 1 vs 3 first shot in the fight, the animators put Isaac and his demons on the even frames, and Carmilla on the odd frames, so your eye can differentiate them apart and still follow a hectic fight scene. (pause the start and go frame by frame and you will see it)
That's pretty dope! From an inexperienced observer, it really helps to make it feel like Carmilla is reacting and Isaac's creatures are moving accordingly as opposed to everyone moving all at once.
Absolutely love Isaac' character. He knows his limits. Nevers flex his strength or weaknesses. He just walks into this battle like a boss. Carmella moving at super speed and he just side steps everything while having his night creatures cover his weak points. I love it!
Carmilla was one of the strongest characters I have seen in this genre. Nothing felt forced, it was all disgust, ambition and malice. Well done to the writers!
@Miles Goodison-Fearon i actually really like her characterisation for that entitled diva stuff. she's a lot like Dracula: old, cruel and insane, but a lot less likeable and she doesn't realise how similar they can be. i just wish the endgame villain (Death) had done more to leave an impact. his fight against Trevor isn't even half as epic as Carmilla vs. Isaac
2:46 I like this look from Issac, it's not anger or frustration, it's like acknowledgement. He knows Carmilla is going to die, he doesn't care about revenge. He meant what he said, he just wants to kill her because it's better for the world Also his angel looking minion is some gorgeous animation
"I am Carmilla of Styria and FUCK YOU! I win" ~ Carmilla of Styria This fight was amazing - definitely my favourite in the series. There are some that happen later on which are also phenomenally animated too.
Remember, Isaac *easily* killed Godbrand (another really engaging vampire lord) with no problems back in season 1. But to face Carmilla, he had to first send dozens of night creatures to wear her down, then fight alongside dozens more as she cut them down, and on multiple occasions he had to have his chief lieutenant Abel save him. Carmilla may have become the same kind of greedy ruler she hated, but she was *powerful* and held her own. Here's hoping Isaac's future kingdom, made from Carmilla's, might be the kind of benevolent land that both of them would want.
@@greyngreyer5 Nah, Godbrand just didn't anticipate the blow that was coming. In this scene,he was using strategy to toy with her with the forged creatures before he could kill her himself. She had it coming

Especially Isaac's general he saved Isaac soo many dam times in this fight!!! also since Isaac/hector are forge master it's implied you will never fight them in a 1 on 1 fight as they are always surrounded by their creatures same as a necromancer and yes Carmilla would have destroyed Isaac if not for one begin weaken beforehand as he kept sending creatures after her so by the time he goes there she was already weaker than normal. Second Hector's spell trapped her in that room so she couldn't flee as Hector knew if she fleed she's come back even stronger, granted he didn't expect that his trap spell would be used to keep her there so Isaac could kill her. Lastly, Isaac avoids any lethal damage due to his creatures sacrificing themselves to save or protect him all it takes is one lethal strike from her and Isaac is dead. Whereas even though they have Carmilla outgun, outnumber they are not stronger than her there the only advantage was numbers and confined space. I am not even sure they could kill her if they fought out in the open where she had space to maneuver and avoid back/sneak attacks. Isaac played a very well game and watched Carmilla through the mirrors and knew when it would be the best time to strike hence why he waited till Striga and Morana left, Striga, in particular, would have been a fucking nightmare for Isaac to fight esp with her Day Armor and she is known as the warrior of the group too, which means there is a good possibility she is a better fighter than Carmilla. Carmilla could have only been defeated under the right set of circumstances because she is way more careful than Dracula and more resourceful. Even then even with all the numbers on his side Isaac didn't win outright as she is just that dam powerful, little cuts, stabs here and there until she was exhausted and worn out.

Carmilla is a scorned woman but one with a force that is absolute. A powerful queen needless to say. Isaac by far one of the most interesting character developments I've seen in a long time. A true reflection of humanity and its change in growth.
I don't think there has ever been a low point in this show, but by the love of hell does this scene put almost everything else in this series to shame. The culmination of Isaac's character arc, who is essentially the most interesting character in the show (at least in my book) and the epic death of quite possibly the most badass villian in the series? immaculate.
Something I noticed that I really enjoyed was how Isaacs creature GRABBED her sword when she went after Isaac. Isaac was holding the sword at bay with his dagger, while the creature was preventing carmilla from moving the sword in any direction to slip away from the dagger. That left her with the option of either letting go of the sword in some way, or brute forcing through the two of them
Undoubtedly Isaac is my fave character in this entire series. From a man working in the shadows and just following order to a man that was reformed, found his purpose and fuel by his own mission. That's a freaking great character development. I love him ❤️
Dracula's favourite for a reason and probably the second most badass human on the show, certainly got more class than hector and Trevor... Mine favourite too..
Ah, Carmilla. When someone else is winning she's just got to ruin it. She'd be the type of person who takes a shit on someone's birthday cake just to spite them.
The way Camilla fights reminds me of a housewife who’s dedicated her entire life to her husband and family only to find out that he not only cheated on her but subsequently killed her children and family. Doesn’t seem like she’s fighting out of rage and bloodlust but rather desperation and sorrow

A small detail such as giving isaac a struggling face would've made his character a hundredfold wonderful. Just to show that he truly is not on a vampire level, but he does have numbers.
Carmilla's fate in this scene reminded me of Scarface, they both were similar. Enemy invading the household, men unexpecting their demise, loses their mind when fighting and both died with a bang.
@@belialsimp1100 Yea, like how is that even impressive? I don't think Issac care that she end her own life. She keep self projecting her past abuse onto others. She keep making it women vs men. She think men are trying to control her and men do things only because they are men and she don't want to lose to men. But Issac simply don't care that she is a women or not, the men in the show, Dracula, Issac, hector, Trevor, death and others, doesn't do things because one is a man or women, she keep making herself a victim and thinking everybody out to get her but the male characters I mentioned before, literally nothing they do revolved around her, with the exception of Issac here and hector. And that is only because of her own actions that lead Hector and Issac to do this. She fights this imaginary battle in the own mind and she think she even win by committing suicide. Doesn't matter to Issac anyway.
I realy like the demon who accompanies Isaac. He protected him during the whole fight and nothing more beautiful than this scene where he flies off to protect him from the explosion.
Fun fact Isaac had the same demon in the ps2 game Castlevania curse of darkness. Its called Abel and Hector can summon one too but its a different colour and is called "The End". Slightly less fun fact is that in that game Isaac was a white ginger who wore fetish gear.

Yes!!!!!! Lol

But in this 1 vs 3 first shot in the fight, the animators put Isaac and his demons on the even frames, and Carmilla on the odd frames, so your eye can differentiate them apart and still follow a hectic fight scene. (pause the start and go frame by frame and you will see it)

He's always at the heart of the battle; fighting and taking down enemies much physically stronger than himself with just the one knife... and nothing more. Come on, he's one cool, mean character😎.
Isaac knew he couldn't face her at her full power so he gets her exhausted and injured enough...dudes smart
he's human and she's a vampire with super speed and strength... so of course it was only right he did what he did. smart fellow indeed.
It just goes to show you It’s not always the strongest who wins it’s the smartest
@@Slifer29 carmilla only lost cuz she got greedy and spread her forces to thin
Brain>muscles
Always play to your strength against the enemy's weakness. It is a life lesson that I have learned.
If you pause around 2:52 - 2:53 as Carmilla is exploding, there’s a quick glimpse of her Mask form from Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest.
And her Bloody Tears on her left side matching her game appearance
Ooo the details
Explain please
@@painvillegaming4119 it's a reference to her appearance in the games, where she's typically a floating opera mask with blood coming out of one of the eyes.
@@theonlychickensama8353 the medusa head?
Highlight of the season. The fight so damn amazing it overshadowed the last fight
MVP of the episode was that wing man . He literally and figuratively was the wing man
This scene speaks volumes. Carmilla is a victim of abuse and trauma from men. She killed herself because she didn’t want a MAN to be her cause of her death.
Well she also turned out to be abuser herself towards Hector especially in the end like a never ending cycle repeating itself.
Her battle is also against Isaac, who also suffered from abuse and trauma as a slave. He was tortured and hurt, and therefore developed a disdain for the human race. In a way they're reflections of one and another
Nahhh, she said "I win" because she thought she would at least take Isaac with her kamikaze style. But Isaac is too much of a beast to let gender or empty medieval SJW threats break his focus haha...Carmilla went out like a boss though
@@manueltorresavec Lol what are you even talking about ? 😂
@@agau-tw1it haha i'm just messing around, but listen to what carmila says before she kills herself
Devilman was the MVP of Isaac's army holy shit
“You don’t DESERVE my BLOOD.”
Literally chills like I get chills. This woman got me 🛐🧎♀️🙏🤲
I think my favourite thing about this scene is it plays out like a video game boss fight with Carmilla busting out new moves all the time. Speaks really well to the origin of the animated series.
This entire scene was so iconic to me, even Carmilla's vow to see Isaac in hell. Gave me chills in the best way. I always knew Isaac would be her end and even though she didn't give him the satisfaction of actually killing her, watching him and his nightcreatures prove too much for her to handle was incredible. Never ever thought I'd get to see the desperate, raging and almost feral side of Carmilla of Styria.
@Digital Fates definitely. carmilla killing herself is the hollowest of victories but fitting for her. she thinks that isaac is out for revenge and while he was initially, at this point he just wanted her dead and also her resources
He would’ve been fodderized without his creatures. On a 1 vs 1 he stood no chance against her
@@tigbiddies26 no shit? He was the better strategist though and played to his own strengths. Don’t see your need to point out the obvious.
@@wildshark9248 yea, I keep seeing people say that as if it means something. Why the fuck would he not use his established ability to help him win a fight with a powerful vampire. Only an idiot would play fair against a creature stronger then a human in a death match.
Funny enough, they might actually see each other in hell. Well unless Isaac goes to heaven.
Isaac is the best character in this series and needs a spinoff. He's the best dressed too.
him and flyeyes should get a buddy-cop show.
His drip is fire
Then IGN is gonna review-bomb that series for not having a black guy as a writer for a black character and the show is misrepresenting him even though it is set on a fictional world where color doesn't even matter.
Mary Sue. No
@@greyngreyer5 wdym? Isaac is literally a calculative man if he was a Mary Sue he would've tried to invade the castle like back in season 3 but instead he took his time taking over a kingdom ruled by a magician by turning everyone there into Night Creatures and gather up an army taking more time to burying the people who died there
the direction, animation, choreography of this fight - ALL stunning!
Carmilla is a scorned woman but one with a force that is absolute. A powerful queen needless to say. Isaac by far one of the most interesting character developments I've seen in a long time. A true reflection of humanity and its change in growth.
I didn't know who was gonna fight Camilla but I was hoping it would be either Issac or Alucard, and this did not disappoint.
If Alucard is that female then yes I would love to see her fight this bitch but still this was a damn good fight i had to re watch like 10 times lmfao

alucard would shit all over her lol i mean he took a beating from vlad dracula tepes and survived twice might i add

I love him ❤️
Same!!
Dracula's favourite for a reason and probably the second most badass human on the show, certainly got more class than hector and Trevor... Mine favourite too..
In my opinion is the most boring and annoying character of the show. Always giving lessons like "wtf just shut up boring man".
I can imagine Isaac and Dracula meeting again, and Isaac be like: "I have changed, my Lord.", then Dracula be like: "So did I."
... And then they proceeded to do barbecue.
just realised right at the end, carmilla sheds a tear from her left eye just like her mask.
When she explodes, before beforehand her skull You can see a visual that looks like her mask
Carmilla said "I win" like Isaac didn't just make her ragequit.
lmao threw her controller at the tv and broke it
I think she said that because she killed herself. Not Isaac.
@Middle Aged Dad probably
Well She is a Tryhard ( And The Type That Yells At Her Teammates & Teabags any kill. Speaking of which Brags about her K/D Ratio)
Matter of fact her death is literally the snoop dogg quitting meme.
*She did the equivalent of flipping the Monopoly board and declaring herself the winner when half her stuff was mortgaged and Issac was chilling with Hotels from Kentucky Avenue to Boardwalk.*
Best fight. Showcased how powerful Carmilla was and also how intelligent and strategic Isaac was. Also, she went out like a boss.
This is unironically one of my favorite animated moments ever, in anything
A small detail such as giving isaac a struggling face would've made his character a hundredfold wonderful. Just to show that he truly is not on a vampire level, but he does have numbers.
Carmilla's fate in this scene reminded me of Scarface, they both were similar. Enemy invading the household, men unexpecting their demise, loses their mind when fighting and both died with a bang.
2:35
Sounded like Carmilla was about to have a very dramatic speech until she realised Isaac didn’t give a shit.
Carmilla: I am Carmilla of Styria
Issac: *starts charging for attack*
Carmilla: Well fuck you too buddy.
Isaac cares not for that whole talking is a free action shtick.

His style of fighting; using the demons he creates to fight while also performing some of his own moves reminds of of V from DMC5.

The 2D animation with the 3D background makes this scene so stunningly amazing.
Issac became my favorite Castlevania after the end of season 3.
He became one of my favorite characters of all time after this episode
Me too, I think he's my favourite character too. You know a supporting character is great, when you can't wait to see them back on screen.
Yeah he is a cool character. I'm glad that he met the Captain, it changed him.

She went down like a total badass.
Carmillas's fight and death are the best done in the four seasons of this serie ... I really enjoyed them ...
Carmilla: *Rage Quits*
Also Carmilla: *I WIN!*
she has the maturity of a 12 year old and people still like her over Isaac
And that’s how you kill off a villain that’s been set up since the beginning of your series

I'm so glad Isaac's main demon partner is SO realistic to the lore and the videogames, in the games when you played as Hector you could fly by holding onto demons, and they cared about you. Such a touching attention to detail, so fantastic.
