Crochet Christmas Tree Beanie Tutorial

What I used
- 145 grams of Caron Simply Soft medium weight yarn in the colour heather
- 4.5mm crochet hook
- pom poms for decoration
I made this crochet vest in a size medium for adults but it it easy to adjust for other sizes - just make the initial band long enough to stretch around you head.

On the green and red beanie, how do you add the red bands with the green and red pom poms? Your tutorial only shows how to make the solid green hat - or did I miss something? I'm looking forward to giving it a try!

Hi Janine 😊 the red bands are actually from a trim that I attached after I’d made it so it’s the same beanie as the solid green one. I used a ‘Pom pom trim’ that I found at my local craft store and hand sewed it on after in between the green layers. If you happen to be in Australia I got it from spotlight but there is probably something similar available most craft stores!

What kind of material yarn you use in this video? Is it cotton yarn or polyester yarn?

Hi! I used polyester/acrylic yarn for this one! The beanie as a whole isn’t very stretchy except for the ribbing around the head so I think you could use cotton if you prefer it - just check that whatever yarn you use is comfortable enough being stretched around your head :)
