As I get older I have come to realize that if one sticks with the problem long enough we finally will understand it and we will enjoy the journey better if we don't let our frustration get to us. for the last part, where you found the phase angles that went along with the voltages, are all those angles measures from the horizontal X-axis? or are they with respect to the voltage or something else?
mathematical proofs tend to be reserved for mathematical rules and definitions. With the laws of nature (physics) they are discovered through experimentation and trial and error. Once a relationship is found, an equation to match the relationship is developed.
