To take Newton over Latu in my opinion would be a mistake. Edge is a higher value position. He’s a fantastic player. I also don’t think we will invest high picks in DT. Look at Ravens DL. All low draft picks. One gal scheme and we’ve signed tons of guys with ability. If we keep 5, Seiler, Gallimore, Jones, Tart, and Harris or Hand.

I agree on all fronts. For me, it was the value of Newton at 21, too good to pass up. Also I like the Shaq Barrett signing to pair with Chubb and Phillips. When comparing, DT is a bigger need. I was more upset Graham Barton was gone if I’m being honest.

mistake? geez, look what chris jones did last year. and when chubb and phillips come back you basically wasted your 1st rounder until we move on from chubb. i think they wanna win sooner than that. i think newton or murphy would awesome immediate impact players. i don't mind the solomon pick, but with all and sinnet on the board, i think i'd like to see em go te if they think either of those guys can play the kittle type role.
