I am one of the 17500+...It was very different to be recording alone, listening to a track, but when I finally found a take I liked (there were about 40+ attempts!) I sent it in.....This came at a time in my life where not only was I alone from the COVID quarantine, but I was alone from losing my husband in April. Singing with this amazing group put a song back in my heart. So fortunate to be a part of this. Thank you Eric, and all the tech people. I hope to do another with you in the future. (and maybe it won't take so many takes to get it right! )
thank you Rebekah! What a thing to go through in the midst of the pandemic. Yet you rise to it, singing..beautiful. xo
@@christinewarren4030 Thank you for your kind words. Be blessed. Be well. And...keep singing
@@rebekahfreeman5436 You and I have posted to one another in the Facebook VC6 group. I will never forget your personification of this song. God bless you.
@@MichaelRogers_MWR_Enterprises Thank you, Michael. I cannot begin to tell you how healing this whole experience was for me. Thank you for remembering me. It always amazes me how people make a connection through something like this. God love you. Stay well. Keep singing
The words were so appropriate for this project. I had a hard time recording, not getting too emotional.
One day, there should be a gigantic VC6 meet up where we all get together and sing this in person.
That would be an actual dream come true
@@fluffydevil13 yes it would, i would love to do that one day,
wow!!! that would be incredible!
What place is big enough to hold that many people? Eric would have to purchase his own planet!
I am in this choir! When they showed the preview, I started crying!
Bless you!
Congratulations! Its a very beautiful thing! Being a part of something like that must be something else.
I'm in it, too. Every time I see/hear it I get emotional. I'd love to sing it in 'real'.
So privileged to have sung in this project. ☺️
The lady singing in American Sign was cool. Even if you don't have a voice, one can still sing with joy. This was such an awesome project.
Breaking down the word "Universe" it literally means "One Song". We all need to remember that each and every one of us is a note in this" One Song".
miss singing with choir..... this is an option that truly brought tears got my eyes... I was soooooo touched. God Bless all involved!
Down to the River on UA-cam ... Had My eyes blurry
I also was shedding tears listening. It’s so beautiful and I too, miss my days singing with a chorus or choir❣️
It was wonderful to participate (my 5th time with him), but he’s right,, it will never compare to that live moment, singing/breathing together.
I was part of this. Now I’m crying because he’s right, nothing beats singing together in person. 😞
It's a privilege to participate in this amazing project. Tears from this clip.
This was a beautiful project and I’m so thankful to have been a part of it. I’m a middle school choir director and I can not wait to be able to sing as one with my students again! I tell my students all the time that every performance is a once in a lifetime event. Even with the same group of people, you can never duplicate a live performance. So enjoy it and give it your all. ❤️
Being part of this was an almost spiritual experience. I feel blessed that I was able to join something so huge.
Very proud of your accomplishments!
That’s such a great achievement!!!
Celebrating you!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm from Indonesia, and so blessed to be part of this project! Thank you Eric and team! Really appreciate it!
Loved being a part of this virtual choir!
My heart is filled. With love. To every deaf loved one. Feel my song.
Musical Genius!!
Absolutely stunning! This is proof that there's so much good in the world. Well done
See what happens when we all sing together. God is surely pleased. God bless the world!
Honestly, all the virtual singing or performances online has saved me! Thank you for this piece ❤️
This is just phenomenal. I love hearing the voices of over 17,000 sing their hearts out virtually. It really amazes me, quite well. All of us, quite well.
I'm in for 7! I went back and listened to 1 through 5. Beautiful. Sleep is magical!
So excited to see this finally go live. Honestly, practicing this music and knowing others were doing the same got me through the first few weeks of this pandemic
I feel the same way. Learning the music was therapeutic, and listening to all of us singing together is healing.
My daughter Bethany Graham is one of these wonderful voices. Amazing!!!!
I miss singing in one also. This was beautiful thank you my tears are flowing.
I was not prepared for the sneak peek at the end!! Absolutely beautiful - I feel so lucky to have been a part of this 💙
I'm one of the voices in this choir from Germany. I took part in Eric Whitacre's 4th Virtual choir, with 5,000 other singers (thereabouts). I missed the fifth one because I was in chemo, but joining this has been a beacon of light in the darkness that is covid 19.
5:00 that’s actually US AS A WHOLE 🤩🤪
My daughter was part of this - amazing.
Thank you for this story. It was so uplifting and so needed. Thanks also to Eric Whitacre for all his work to put this virtual choir together. Genius! Love to all.
I am gratified that David Pogue, basically a techie, has the talent and interest to take part in this.
same thought!
Tears in my eyes.
Wow.... I am so blessed to have been part of this
I can't wait to hear this beautiful song. My sister is singing in the choir.
WONDERFUL MAGIC!!!!! ART CONQUERS ALL!!!!!
This is the power of love in music at it's best! 💙🎼🎶🎵🎼🎶🎵💙
I kinda cried. 😭
Very happy to be part of this wonderful project singing Tenor from Singapore. A great experience to be musically connected with singers around the globe
I'm not a crier 😭 but this tapped something in me. Absolutely beautiful and what this world needs.
I'm in my 50's, still a headbanger to keep me young at heart. But I also love classical music and so do my two cats! 😻🎼🎵😻
Love conquers hate, always! 💙🎶
Greetings from Boston, MA. 👋🇸🇬🇺🇸🕊️🕊️🕊️
What an experience! Thank you from the heart 🙏🏼
Whats the name of the app please?
Alto, New York, USA
Just like Angel's...I wish I knew about the project
i'm thrilled to have been a part of VC6!!! thank you, eric whitacre & team for your endless work!!!
Wow!! Literal goosebumps here.
Yes! Eric Whitacre! I have always loved his approach. He is a genius.
I am outsize with pride for having been a part of Virtual Choir 6. It was a profound experience not just to sing a Bass part, but to struggle with learning it, reading music, practicing and doing take after take until I got one that was "acceptable" (and certainly not "great"). Thank you, CBS Sunday Morning!!
My mom and I both participated. Played this for her today and it made her so happy. Eric Whitacre, you touch more lives than you know.
How does one get to participate?
@@TheDivayenta Don't know if Eric is gonna do another one, but if he does, he'll announce it and post sheet music and a click track online. You use them to practice and then record yourself singing to the click track. you send in the video and a team plugs it into the final project. sorry you missed this one.
@@blitsriderfield4099 Thankyou!
Eric Whitacre is a true blessing to this world.
so beautiful - amazing!
Sing loudly for all to hear
Creativity at its best!! ❤
Glad to be a part of this historic collaboration.
So glad to have been a part of this beautiful creation. It really was a wonderful escape, especially during the stay at home order. Thanks for covering VC6!
this made me cry in the best way. i'm fourteen years old and was one of the altos in this artwork. such a masterpiece
I was a choir director and music teacher for most of my life. I haven’t been as emotionally touched by anything in so very long. My choirs brought tears of joys many times, my heart bursting as I witnessed how much it satisfied my students to please me. Thank you for the countless hours of work to give this gift to the world! I am, once again, in tears.
I'm gonna be in this video!!!
As a member of the Virtual Choir 6, my first virtual choir, I continue to be in awe of what this project is becoming and how every one of the 17,500+ members is drawn more closely unified as the world hears our collective singing. Eric Whitacre's composition and vision supported by brilliant music & audio technology teams and producers have created a shining jewel for the world to embrace. The human voice and the language of music - singing, gently, together is at the heart and soul of why music matters. Music truly is the universal language. Watch the full video on Eric Whitacre's UA-cam Channel. Enjoy! Many thanks from The VC6!
I waited ten years to finally jump in on one of Eric's projects!! It is a blessing to be a part of this incredible choir.
This is Art for sure ... Inspirational
Oh, what a wonderful way to bring us all together and AMAZING!! I'm going to listen to this NOW!!
This truly was an inspiring project to take part in, however Eric Whitacre really sums it all up at the end of this piece for many of us choral singers. "Singing together in a room... taking that first breath together? and then singing together? I mean nothing beats that and nothing every will." -Eric Whitacre
I sang in this -from southern California! Thank you Eric Whitacre!
Genius on so many levels.
Brilliant and gorgeous singing from Angels around the globe. Moved to tears and full of gratitude for your voices. Thank you
So touching and amazing! Our church has also been doing virtual choir/band/hymn every week since the pandemic. Our size is a bit smaller, but this digital way to sing together have been keeping us connected together. The effort of the online music(virtual choir) is to find a way to bring our best to God in the reality given to us today.
So grateful to have been part of this, along with 17.571 others! Such a beautiful song and powerful themes for these times.
Lift every Voice and Sing.......
Thanks for the bio about the making of Sing Gently. The technical work to put it all together seems so magical . As a listener, the product is a true spiritual experience. Thank you.
I'm happy my mom took part of this
This was such an amazing project. I don't know when I'll be able to sing with a choir again.
Saw my friend Jack, how cool is that. Outstanding my good man.
Absolutely spectacular.
So beautiful ❤️
Someone call Guinness world records!
Incredibly beautiful and brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
I'm amazed that no one has posted a link to this song they're singing on UA-cam. I'm looking to hear the whole thing
ua-cam.com/video/InULYfJHKI0/v-deo.html
I actually found the channel and searched for it, but it didn’t show up until a few hours later.
How just wonderful! I listen and hear beautiful voices that stir my soule. Thank you one and all!
Unreal and stellar !
So wonderful! 🎶💕
Beautiful!
So amazing, thank you for covering Eric’s choir...! ❤️
Thanks to CBS for doing this piece on this choir as I would have never known about it, truly a blessing.
This music touches my heart at a much deeper level than I could ever imagine. Being one voice among all the others - singing gently together as one - is an amazing experience.
And I refuse to let my inner cynic take these emotions away from me.
this moved me to tears.xo
Have enjoyed this piece and was surprised to see David Pogue's face in it recently - then found the CBS Sunday report he did on it (which somehow I'd missed despite being a CBS Sunday Morning fan) - lovely!
Im so excited!
It was a wonderful project to be involved in, the love and song as we all sang as one.. Music brings peace to our hearts and the world...
MUSIC - bring everyone together. Simply beautiful.
Excellent piece on the Virtual Choir 6 and how inclusive it is!
Eric Whitacre is one of my heroes. My cooperating teacher is in the most recent virtual choir, and I can't wait for the next one so I can join in!
Amazing!
This is going to be so beautiful!!!
Oh my gosh I'm in tears!!!!!
Brilliantly designed 🌹🌹♥️♥️🎈🎈
It was an amazing experience to be part of, particularly in the early months of the pandemic.
Someone should nominate Mr. Whitacre for the Nobel Peace Prize. Having people from across the globe work on this together, and close to 1.5 million views by people across the globe shows how peace can work. Why not have a musician be the recipient instead of a politician for a change? Anyone have any ideas as to how this could be done?
That’s a brilliant idea.. It will be these beautiful voices from around the world uniting that gives us peace, joy, and keeps us connected..
Beautiful
The larger a choir of People becomes
enjoying the increase of harmony together
all the more pleasant the outreaching sound!
Awesome! Truly Awesome! Thank you for this! 💗 - Bonnie Robinson
I sang on that choir and it was beautiful!
Love It!!! I miss singing in my Choir so much!!
AWESOME!!!!
I am insured to tears. This points out to me how badly I want to sing in a choir but knowing how difficult it will be to make a that happen.
Should have been INSPIRED to tears.
@@davidjohnson6254 That does work better. :o))
Kathleen Rooney David Johnson Yes, it does, but the insured had me trying to make the connection. Thanks for updating!! And it also made me giggle, so there’s that to thank you for, too!!
At first I thought, how worldly this fellow is, but with the help of Wikipedia, my confidence in my Grammer returned. Lol
This is the kind of story that gives me hope in the future of humanity. Thank you.
Marvelous. Mr. Whitacre. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow. The special people that this reaches is so important!
I sang bass in this!! I was so glad to take part in such a wonderful thing!! 🥰🎶
... for such a time as this...
All I can say is WOW!
