Central Coast Rock Fishing - Close Call to Death

This was without a doubt the gnarliest moment of rock fishing I’ve ever experienced. A textbook way of how people die - but not today.
Three freak bombs appeared and charged at us out of nowhere. Now consider the rock we were fishing is 3 meters above sea level - we still didn’t have a chance. I jumped off, scrambled and hid behind a cliff about 10 meters back. Chesko was out of time, but managed to pin his arm in a rock and held on for dear life. I honestly thought he was dead. All three sets broke over the boulder with the third ripping my buddy and dangling him over the ledge. The video truly does no justice to how wild this moment was. Water was whirlpooled as it came in horizontal up to my chest. We lost gear, our fish but luckily not our lives. So we packed up and called it quits.
Always respect the oceans unpredictability, and know your escape route. You may not be as lucky as we were.
