- City of exiles
In Soviet times, Aleksandrov became a gathering place for former camp inmates and exiles, who, after liberation, were forbidden to settle closer than 100 kilometers from large cities. Moscow is 110 kilometers from here.
City of kings
According to legend, in the 16th century in Alexandrov, the Russian Tsar Ivan the Terrible lowered his annoying wives in carriages from the steep monastery coast.
In Alexandrov there is a Crucifixion Church-bell tower. According to legend, once the serf Nikita made wings from wood and bird feathers, fastening them with wax. On self-made wings, Nikita jumped off the Crucifixion bell tower, flew a few dozen meters and landed on the banks of the Seraya River. Ivan the Terrible ordered the wings to be burned and the head of the Russian Icarus to be cut off, explaining that a person cannot soar like a bird, which means that the devil helped him. So here it is...
In video you will see how people live in the Russian city Aleksandrov.

Sandels 98 Thank you for watching.
I will definitely make a vid of Vyborg, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Moscow.
The sign at 0:55 reads: "Alexandrov -- Hotel -- Restaurant -- Bar -- Conference Hall -- VIP Hall -- Billiards -- Summer Cafe ""Terem".
looks like typical third world town of asia, like india.

Trine Perstuen Thank you for watching! I'm glad you liked the vid.
P.S. Unfortunately, in Russia people and children with weapons in Russia are a common
Moscow garbage is dumped near this town? It's about 120 km north of Moscow. Long way to haul it.
Kathy Scoppettuolo The path is long. And it's expensive. But there are fewer landfills around Moscow! They don’t think about people in Alexandrov...
You can summarize every Russian city(aside Petersburg & Moscow) as:
horrible roads riddled with potholes, mud, crooked old wooden buildings, dilapidated panel or brick buildings,
facades that are falling apart, trash everywhere,
poor old people everywhere, "Z"-youth pretending to be soldiers and Soviet monuments, mainly of Lenin.
flioink You are right, this is common for all Russian cities.
In Moscow and St. Petersburg it is also all there.
But also each Russian city has its own unique historical monuments, old architecture (unfortunately collapsing). I try to show them in my vid too.
reminds me of growing up in india, the whole place is a non-maintained garbage dump outside of airport and government buildings, and business districts.
the people who are contracted to maintain the place take half of it for themselves, the other half of remaining for the family associates, and with what little remains they buy the cheapest trash materials to do the job.
everything falls apart within months.
in china you would call it "tofu dreg", but really the cause of it is greed and corruption and the government is too weak to do anything.
