    I'm a type two diabetic who has not had an emergency (Thank goodness) and am working hard to reverse my condition. I'm glad you explained this in detail! Not only for my Basic First Aid training but for my own condition.

    When the guy was talking I had a mini staring contest with the little girl 😂😂 she won by the way

    • @ashishdewan3346
      @ashishdewan3346 4 роки тому +3

      I did something similar too, I was staring at the girl(while simultaneously listening), her body language clearly shows, she didn't wanted to stare at camera, listen to the guy talking next, didn't wanted to take those reffered pills and lastly feeling much uncomfortble sitting there.

    My mom never says she doesn't feel good.
    She just... goes out of it.
    As for high blood sugar, she just says "I need to take insulin."
    ...she does go to the bathroom a lot when her sugars are too high, heh... eh... hhh...

    Thank you. I just started having to deal with low blood sugar that sometimes happens when I give myself certain insulin. I'm having my mom watch this video also. While I'm 42, I only started dealing with this in past 2 years and blood sugar tanking in past couple of months, despite always being a grumpy person. Thank you. Very good video! Your assistant in video did a very good job of drinking the orange juice. 😄🍊🧃

    I am a 56 year old diabetic who doesn't eat candy. However, when I buy the glucose tablets I tend to eat them like candy because they taste good.
    Therefore, I don't buy them anymore

      I am a 54yr old diabetic and even though the medical staff told me to take glucose tablets.
      I can't because it pushes my blood sugar levels up too high.
      Hence the reason why I don't take them anymore.

    When I started as an EMT decades ago there weren't any glucose products available. Most of us carried a few small packets of honey and/or jam, the ones you peel of to open. All stolen in restaurants of course...
    Also, we told the patient to first swallow some and then put some under the tongue. That goes directly into the blood stream. Reaction time was two to three minutes as compared with 10 minutes when only swallowing...

    I suffered A low sugar event on a short strenuous hike. I was unable to make it back to my car. I called my family and had them bring oj and a soda. It was the longest 30 minutes of my life waiting for them. I've never felt so vulnerable. Now I take those glucose pills every time I go out alone.

    My wife developed diabetes as an adult. We have pills, liquid and jell. Jell is our favorite to work with because it’s so easy to use. It’s also the hardest to find when restocking because they always seem to be sold out.

      If was always around 300, that's dangerous and you would be at hoistpal. You would be very sick, in a coma or you die. So I bet it's way lower then that because 300 is way too high and dangerous
