Great video/mini feature film. Could almost smell the antiseptic. Regarding the figures, the ripples on the clothing looked spot-on. You wonder how much better these figures will get. Finally love your refreshingly unwoke humour. The remark about the ‘pervert’ had me chuckling. Was that ad-libbed? Brilliant. Look forward to the next instalment.
2:51 He did NOT want to go down with you haha! I loved this video man more boring episodes like this! I don’t care if it’s 45 minutes I need more. BANZAI!
Great episode, Christian--maybe your best! Thanks, as always, and here's wishing you and yours happy holidays and a happy and healthy new year! Thanks for all you do, my friend!
You are welcome Craig! MERRY CHRISTMAS to you too! The episode was actually 44 min long but I had to cut it down. 2O25 is going to be an ambitious year, you will see!
Another great episode, General! The Japanese Field Hospital Set is definitely pretty impressive. It seems resin based 3D Printing continues to gain steam as a major source of miniatures for today's hobbyist. Personally, I am not sure how I feel about that at the moment. 3D Printed figures CAN be very good (like these by 3Djson), but other times the detail isn't sharp enough, the material is brittle, and the prices, while not Russian made bad, are still 5-6 USD/EURO a head. On a similar note, Christian, I am curious to know what you think about the latest developments with Mars. Are they really leaving traditional 15 figure plastic sets behind in favor of smaller, pricier 3D Printed sets? I would take a set of 15 figures for 25 USD with flaws (flash/mold lines) over eight or less figures for 35+ USD. Of course, I wish them the best, and the detail on many of their new sets, especially that SS Machine Gun Group, is very good. All the best!

Overall, impressive. However your bit about Japanese women not being nurses came off as super-weird. I mean, I get you were doing a bit, but you ran with it a bit much. A few minutes reading revealed that some young women (girls, really) between 15-19 years old were forced to serve as nurses in the Imperial Japanese Army during the Battle of Okinawa. "The Himeyuri student corps, or Lily Corps, were a group of 222 students and 18 teachers from the Okinawa First Girls' High School and the Okinawa Female Normal School who were ordered by the Japanese army to serve on the front lines of what is widely considered the bloodiest battle in World War II's Pacific theater. Mobilized on March 23, 1945, just a week ahead of the full invasion of American forces, the young women were assigned to a military hospital located inside some 40 caves used as bunkers in the southern part of Okinawa's main island. They were forced to nurse sick and wounded soldiers while under constant bombardment from U.S. forces. The women, aged 15 to 19, assisted military doctors, surgeons, medics and nurses while also being given perilous tasks such as transporting ammunition, supplies, food and water to the front lines while artillery shells rained down around them. Part of their detail included burying the dead. As Japan's losses mounted and defeat was clear, the schoolgirl corps was given an abrupt order to disband on June 18, 1945, just five days before the battle ended. The girls suffered mass casualties as they attempted to escape the battlefield. Of the group, 123 girls and 13 teachers lost their lives, dozens of them even after the dissolution order. Many committed suicide using hand grenades, cyanide or by jumping from cliffs above the ocean..." " From "Tragic story of young nurses' fate in Battle of Okinawa goes overseas" in Kyodo News.
I understand your perspective, but Okinawa is somewhat of a unique case in the sense that the Island had a substantial civilian population. Frankly, I find the inclusion of female Japanese figures in this set to be a bit odd overall. The majority of the American Island Hopping Campaigns featured male only Japanese garrisons and armies. The female figures are probably more useful for China, Manchuria, and South East Asia. I guess it just depends on how they are used...
@@hectorsalamanca8117 That's all true. In the case of Japanese nurses in the JIA at Okinawa was purely a function of a Japanese civilian population being present. The Japanese (in all likelihood) did not transport female nurses to the far-flung conquered islands that were the eastern outposts of their empire. This largely isn't taught in American schools but the "war in the Pacific" involved far more countries than the US and was a lot more than island-hopping. Before the internet, I would have never known about the tragic story of those nurses on Okinawa. But because we do have the internet, it took me about five minutes to find out. And honestly, Okinawa was not some obscure battle. Heck, even Americans have heard of it! (Ha ha.) If you're going to put this much effort into a video, why not do a bit of research about who those female nurses were (or may well have been)?
@@ThePlasticGeneral Hey, I'll buy that for a dollar! I appreciate your humour, don't get me wrong, General. Now, if you said something like that in your video... But yeah, Japanese nurses really had a raw deal. (As did the allied nurses who were POWs under the Japanese.)
You're back! Finally. Another banger dropped. Hope you had a good Christmas!
Uneventful Xmas, but 2O25 will be exciting!
