What a pristine example you have there. Generally the points are spot on, but for an educative video it would be good to show the bad vs. good as it can be tricky to know what the exact symptoms are if you’re not used to older types of vehicles, especially defenders. From my experience, or early on there lack of, first time buyers of a Defender (applies to most cars) should really get some professional assistance. There are sooo many things on these cars that can cost you an arm and a leg to fix or replace. Just a few thoughts.
if its a tdci walk away and buy an older one thats had a full rebuild galv chassis if possible just my opinion as the tdci are poop for a working vehicle not the best
I know this is a well debated topic, but which engine would you go for. I am torn between going for the newest model available or going for older one with Td5. I don’t off-road and it would be used for city driving mainly.
If you are using it often and do some long journeys then the Puma is the one to go for, if not then whichever you prefer. Just don’t get caught up with the comments from td5 owners saying how bad the puma is - if it was that bad they wouldn’t be worth more. The td5 is a better engine than the puma, but the puma car is a better one to live with. Coming from experience with both :)
Laughed out loud at ‘Can rust for fun’!
Nice vid! Well produced.
Cheers
Rich
Glad you enjoyed it

I would add that on the test drive, make sure it goes into all the gears with the transfer case open, then in 4H and 4L.

All of them have pros and cons - a well maintained and slightly tweaked TD5 is a firm favourite here.
@@Landsammal one of my pals owns a tdci asked me to put a td5 in it or an m57 what does that say to you ?
