They are actually old. The platform gates were later installed about 10 years after the station opened. The ones at the Main Station & Fuxing are a few years older than the main ones.
It's called the Bannan line; if you've ever driven a Toyota Prius, the trains' accelerating sounds might sound somewhat similar to that, albeit a bit louder and high-pitched.

Way more modern than Tokyo Metro. And Tokyo Metro is unlike any other modern East Asian stations than New York City Transit.
