got mine for $5 a few years ago from an old lady with 168,000 kilometers on the car lol. OEM plus look on got good coils and tires wrapped around IMPUL RS's. Super fun to drive! Still going strong today at 200,000 kilometers now!
Sheesh what a great find!! I'm in Washington and just spent over a month looking for a 1996-2000 civic ex manual (could be 2 or 4 door) for under $3500. Well long story short after looking at 18, yes 18 cars that had everything from check engine lights I wasn't told about to completely soaked and molded interiors that I was told was perfect. A few cars that said they were 1xx,000 but they were actually 2xx,000 and not like 210 but like 280-290,000 miles. I ended up settling for an automatic but exact same spec and year as yours with 183,000 miles. Otherwise bone stock and mechanically clean other than a stolen cat but repaired "correctly" so CEL p0410 for secondary 02 obviously. Otherwise perfect. Got it for $2200 so not bad but not as good as deal as yours.....for a manual too!!! I'm jealous.
So I'm doing a budget build as well and already ordered some rev9 hyper one coilovers for $399, ordered grill, visors, sunroof visor, front lip, fog light kit, "EK" floor mats, and crystal tali lights (old ones cracked) as well as full exterior bulb upgrade. I'm in under $800 in parts so far befor wheels and tires but I'll probably find a set locally. Has 14" del sol wheels currently. Baby fat fives I call them lol.
Wow these engines can go over 200k miles! Mine now has 52,000. I purchased it with 28,000 miles three years ago, it was a lottery find as it had been garaged for 18 years and only occasionally driven. I uploaded a quick video of it.
2:07 I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX Sedan, I'll follow your series and see if I can't make my car a bit better, I wish it was a couple but since it's my first car, I'm still grateful for it. Can't wait to see what this one will look like when it's done. New to the channel and I like what I see so far.
@@guardian8319 😁 3 timing belt & water pump kits so far. The starter & alternator failed @200k. The AC compressor failed @315k. Religiously maintained. It’s been the best car!
Remember, people, they sold 50 godzillion Civics in the late 90's. Don't pay too much for one. I consider these cars to be the cure for the sub-$3k enthusiast budget blues. They drive great, you can drive it while you "project car" it, unlike other more complex cars. The window regulators can be an issue, and I hear things about catalytic converters being expensive (isn't it the same for every car?). The seats are uncomfortable at first, but I have found a position that works and now I don't even think about it. The motor music is GREAT when they're running right. Adjust the valves and give it a genuine Honda parts tune-up, and your friends will want to know why your car runs and sounds so good. People forget what a stock Honda is supposed to sound like, thanks to fart can mufflers and bad mechanics. I'm jealous, I paid $2,700 for mine. But! Do not regret it at all. Only modifications I plan on are a Progressive suspension kit, and some lightweight wheels. Love it.
Not bad for $900. I remember your red one, similar to this one. Man, I could that big parking lot, for driving lessons in. Thanks for the video, Anthony.
I've got a Civic with 87,000 miles. It is my first car and I love it so much :) I'm planning on getting it polished along with getting an aftermarket catback exhaust.
I just picked up the same civic for 3k with 250k miles. I know I overpaid but it's clean title and has all the vin #. It's really hard to find these all stock and clean in CA. I never owned a 90s civic as well so I just decided to get it. So pumped for the build!
My parents still have their 1999 Civic EX sedan in Iced Teal Pearl since new. Currently 154k miles. I just threw some EM1 alloy wheels on there this March. I was motivated after watching a few videos on your channel and did some repairs and detailing on ours shortly after. It’s in the shop now actually to do a few more repairs to it. Plan to bring it around the local Cars and Coffee soon.

I just bought a 2003 Civic 1.6 VTEC here in the UK as a second car this week. Its stock and in great condition cosmetically and mechanically. Paid £1400 (1900 USD) Got to love an old Civic👍
I just bought a 2000 DX D16Y7 manual, my first project car, exceptionally clean, the interior is perfect, 173,000 miles! And I only dropped $1500 on it. Runs like a champ. And I am totally out of my depth. I am loving it. This is a great find, $900 is an absolute steal. Cannot wait to see how this goes.

My 97 Honda Civic EX has 303,123 miles. Original motor and transmission. It's been a daily driver work horse since it was born. Tomorrow I am going to change the transmission fluid (5 speed manual) and I also need to fix a vacuum leak and MAP sensor issue. After that it's good to go until forever...
This is awesome bro! You’re journey with the red coupe inspired me to get back in a coupe which happens to be taffeta white so I’m super excited to see what’s in store for this one keep up the amazing work and thank you for your videos!👍🏾
I bought my 97 Civic DX 5 spd manual in 2008 for $2500 with 140k miles. Today it has 334,000 miles and I still drive it daily to work. Original engine. Lost count of the number of burnouts, redlines, and bouncing off the limiter. Replaced transmission (input shaft bearing). Stupid cheap to keep it running well. I have a few other nicer cars now, but the Civic is still the best car I've ever owned.
Thanks for loving Hondas bro, went from an 2011 civic SI to FK7. And it makes me happy asfuck not the fastest thing in the world but deff know it'll be worth more than some dudes mustang in 2030 lol. New subscriber cuzz!!
124,857 on my 99 civic ex coupe. Smells like a Honda. I bought a bunch of aftermarket parts, hopefully get it build for Honda day. Y’all have a blessed day.
2005 ex sedan, 140,000 miles, check engine light on and off, air bag light never goes out, winter tires in the summer, stock everything except the trunk lid cause my brother backed into a pole (ex spoiler no back up light), cat is rusted to the moon, fuckin mint, couldn’t be a prouder civi owner 👌🏻
That was a steal for $900. I throughly enjoy the red civic content and I’m looking forward to the white civic content over the next few months. I’ll be keeping an eye out for when you put this one up for sell. Hopefully I can get lucky.
Sick! Got mine for $600 from some old lady. Besides the paint ,it was perfect. Everything intact and unmolested. civics are mighty comfortable after putting integra seats in them
I picked up mine for 1800 with brand new coil overs. Wheels and tires, and good condition black prelude seats 😳 5 speed and EX as well. With the Blackhawk paint. All original panels never crashed. Year 2000
Last summer, bought this same year and trim except with factory aluminum wheels and spoiler, under 60k, never seen snow. Got a price I couldn't pass up from its first owner. Then ended up with two Honda's. (2021 Accord Touring.) Love them both. Have a hard time deciding which to drive on a daily basis. Obviously, the d16y8 is a dog, but with a manual it's still super fun to drive. I feel guilty every time I think of doing anything to the civic, because it's original and in such great shape. So, not sure where I will go with that...
The biggest part is probably getting the paint corrected. A new fresh white front bumper will make it look amazing. Yup, paint those side skirts since they get dirty so easy. I love the color as it sets it apart from being an EM1 Civic. Yes it's slow but only when your in 1st gear and nobody drives 80mph in the city. Would have loved to see you drive it in the rain with no wipers haha.
Bought myself a 98 ex 5 speed for $800 last year. Was running and driving. Bought it after watching your vlogs 😎 Wish I could do a cool challenge build with it. Working on pulling the engine to do a rebuild
I had a 94 accord EX with every service record from its first oil change in 1994, the chassis had 240k on it and 25k on the motor, and trans, everything power and it was all stock and worked, built motor (f22b1 sohc vtec) ended up with a full exhaust, skunk2 intake, tune, kept up with WRX’s but walked out of work one day to it being missing, got stolen about a year ago, even had a killswitch in it but the one day i forgot to flip the switch shes gone.
good buy, I've had one for about 9 years of the same year.250000 mi, but I just blew my headgasket. Put in a new gasket but am losing coolant so I'm probably in need of a rebuild or find a let used motor.
I bought a 99 coupe last year for $700. The owner thought the clutch was shot but it was just the Slave cylinder. $16 later I had a perfect daily and taught my girlfriend how to drive stick in it. Everything was great on the car besides a dented front fender. I ended up selling it for $2500 just a couple months ago!
I have a 2000 civic coupe ex 186,000 miles the body I guess you can say for a 21 year old car it’s in good condition no rust at all only few dings yes they last long time .

A spoiler would be the icing on the cake
201600 on the ole 99. Same white as this one you just bought. Excited to see some more civic content!
Hell yeah thanks for watching
I bought a 99 coupe last year for $700. The owner thought the clutch was shot but it was just the Slave cylinder. $16 later I had a perfect daily and taught my girlfriend how to drive stick in it. Everything was great on the car besides a dented front fender. I ended up selling it for $2500 just a couple months ago!
Just wow! i recently brought my Honda Civic 96 but I'm in love with your car lol
Haha thanks man
I have a 2000 civic coupe ex 186,000 miles the body I guess you can say for a 21 year old car it’s in good condition no rust at all only few dings yes they last long time .
232,000 miles on my civic and running strong!
