I prayed that he would burn in hell. But in my heart, I knew that hell would not have him.

As bad as "Halloween 5" is, that's a really good line, especially as delivered by Donald Pleasance, who had one of those voices that could make the most ridiculous dialogue sound profound.
Classic Loomis Line
Death has come to your little town, Sheriff.

Guess a basement will do then.
5:17 just leaving this here, all of this song is just amazing but here its just... it goes further and beyond...I love this so much. Halloween 2018 just brought some of the most amazing and iconic themes for the series, like The Shape Hunts Allyson
Fun fact: This is also used in Halloween Kills payback theme.

Okay what about ANNIHILATION that movie made me high as hell fuck.

it does now. for years they would release in aug or sept. Smh now that its a huge success it will release In Oct
Jonathan Stubbs this is a good song when i go workout at the gym.
Purge belongs for the 4th of july
Absolutely off the chain fire. A fusion of the classic with an updated mix. John Carpenter is simply god tier. Nothing else to say. Michael is back.
His son did probably more work on this then his dad.
Evil has finally come home bro
When they changed it to 4/4 they were probably looking for a good song to base it on . . . The main piano sounds a lot like the riffs in Every Breath You Take by The Police. Not trying to say anything, 'cause I really love how John has made use of inventive rhythms before. Not all his, as he had mentioned when composing Halloween's "theme" in 5/4; he had admitted that this was something his father had drilled into him, most likely because of Dave Brubeck's Take Five.
Uh... yeah, most fans including myself wouldn't know. We don't really sit and listen to, "Every Breath You Take." lol God... So cringy.
Sword of Etro Wasn’t that song basically talking like a stalker...? How fitting.
I'm so glad the new movie didn't suck. I would've changed a few things here and there, but it was still great. More importantly, Michael is as evil and brutal as ever.
He is all the kills are so brutal just.. Ow that's going to hurt
I hope the next one is even better. I like it when films have a mix of story and action and drama. It does not have to be highly complex because they can get a bit tedious. It needs to be enjoyable but you also need to know why certain things are happening. You need substance.
all he does is kill and still kills and kills again and rays goobye
@@BitOfUltraviolence have you seen the new trailer?
Years later so what do you think about H: kills?
The helicopter-esque percussion fill *tk-tk-tktktktk* that plays throughout is a really effective pulse pounder and valuable addition to the mix! This honors the original and gives it a fresh coat of creepy paint.
lol tk tk tk this had me rolling 🤣. it is nice and creepy. I blast this out my window on halloween nights

I bet Laurie is sad he can't give any guidance anymore. Now it is just her, her loved ones and unsuspecting bystanders going against that... thing, that somewhat resembles a shape of a human being...
That would have been cool but he would be about 97 . Imagine tho or if they had his son in the new movie. Tbh I hate that the draw sketch of him doesnt even look like him an i wished they used his actual voice in the film like audio recording. Instead they use someone elses voice who sounds like donald pleasance like idk how hard it is or why they dont extract his voice from the first movie🤔 For example in the intro of H20 they have a small flash back an in it you hear “donald pleasance” voice but it obviously isnt him. Idk i feel they should have used his actual real voice at least even if its just 10 seconds

Carpenter NEVER Let's Us Down Whether It Be Movies OR Music!
If it wasn't for Escape From LA I would agree with that statement
Escape from LA, Ghosts of Mars and Vampires disagree. John kinda slipped after making In The Mouth Of Madness.
@@MrStath1986 John Carpenter wanted to **RESTORE** his own movie. And at the same time create what would now be the greatest horror movie soundtrack in modern horror movie History. *He just have created what we have been wanting for YEARS!* - He turned down Halloween II (1981) and all other Halloween movies because he knew it wouldn't make any sense compared to Halloween (1978) the original and first Halloween movie, He disrespected Rob Zombie and agreed with us that Rob Zombie ruined Halloween for everybody, John Carpenter never had let Us Halloween Fans down! MOST of the Halloween (2018) soundtrack was composed MOSTLY by him!!! And carried on the legacy of His gift to his own son, Cody Carpenter! And let him take charge in some of the soundtracks too. John Carpenter never had let us down. Like what he said in his 2015 Halloween concert, *HORROR MOVIES WILL LIVE FOREVER!*
What fascinates me is that John is using the more 80s style synth motifs (The Fog, Escape from New York, Season of The Witch) than what people might associate with the 1978 Halloween. It's more like he brought everything to the table. I can't believe how perfect it is! Also I like to think John incorporated guitars as a nod to Halloween 6, which has a unique but very divisive guitar-based soundtrack.
Camw1n brother cane.
I was thinking the same thing. There's even a little of "The Thing" in there.
Camw1n they did say they were going to pay homage to the entire series and hearing the score, I believe it.
Carpenter included some electric guitar, yes, but I seriously doubt he did it as a nod to H6.
MANUEL LEON CABALLERO don’t be so sure.
It's amazing that they got Nick Castle to come back after 40 years and run around in the mask again.
He only did 1 scene

@@xxSpike1989xx No. That was stuntman James Jude Courtney.
Just came back from the movie. It was amazing. Dark, tense, gory and emotional as well, it's everything a Halloween fan could want, while feeling like something different at the same time.
The something different is that it needed Donald the original Loomis. RIP
Swibbity that would have been better honestly I couldn’t help but feel they was going for woman power but is fine just not in the movie. Everyone should have the equal amount to die lol
@@treyagpalza3264 I don't think it needed him.
MG 1984 Excatly, i went back and saw the movie. i said that it's the best Halloween movie for 2018.
Woman power? really?... No shit, Its a SLASHER movie!!!
That's the trouble with the Shape, he always finds a way to come back. You can shoot him full of holes, bury him six feet under, or burn him to cinders, in the end it won't matter. Evil like that doesn't just die, it just waits. Waits for the opportune moment to strike again, even harder than the last time.
So if you're ever out at night, and you see the Shape of the evil that had claimed many before, don't be too surprised.
You can't kill the boogeyman.
Sounds more like Jason...
It's because Michael Myers is a force of Nature and you cannot kill Nature.
He's an unstoppable force that cannot be destroyed
like a forest fire, the plant life will grow back and be reborn
Same as the boi himself
@GoldenFox2109 wouldn't say he's exactly "human"
@Michael Myers Fan
It does sound like Jason as far as the immortal part goes.
I disagree. Michael CAN be beaten. If anyone of his victims had the sense to shoot him in the head with a 12 gauge or chop his head off, I guarantee you, Michael would not come back.
Jason has been through a hell of alot more punishment than Michael. Jason is the one who can't be stopped.
Like I said, I chop Michael's head off than all this talk about not being able to be killed goes right out the window. That's why they haven't done that to him. Meanwhile Jason goes through everything imaginable.

Tbh this movie totally blows my mind and went beyond my expectations. I'm not really a fan of slasher films but I watched them all and Michael Myers is my fav out of all those dudes. Coming into this movie, I wasn't eexpecting anything but man, it was good. You can feel the real Michael Myers returning back and you can feel the vibe of the original movie.
Yes, I was surprised as well. This is way better than the drivel horror movies from couple last years.
It still makes some dumb decisions, Michael seems in few scenes more like Gladstone (from Donald Duck) than ultimate evil.
Evil shouldnt rely on luck, but cunning and relentlessness.
Still, good movie overall, and as an slasher film one of the best.

This theme fits Halloween (the film *and* the holiday) so well, it's unbelievable. It creates such a great, eerie vibe - and even though the notes/chords are fairly simple, it's still very effective and scary. So glad Carpenter came back to work on this film, he's done an amazing job!
1:59 and when that guitar hits is so sentimental it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Has the old school horror feel to it
Just got back from seeing it! It literally is THE BEST sequel to a fucking legendary horror classic. I walked into it with low expectations, but I came out extremely satisfied. Unfortunately, the ending implies that the cash machine will come into play and there will be a dozen more sequels within the next 20 years. However, I feel that this film gave Laurie's story a proper close that both Jamie Lee Curtis and her character as well as John Carpenter deserved.
I'm probably going to ignore any of the sequels that come out after this one.
I agree. I loved this film, but I'm going to disregard any sequel, unless by some 1 in a trillionth chance they are decent.
@@benjaminfouche5991 As long as they learn from the other sequel's failures. No Laurie being Michael's sister, no cult of Thorn or trying to explain Michael and for fuck sake, no kung fu fighting Busta Rhymes.
To be fair, there was actually a plan for them to make this movie and the next one (I've taken to calling it "Halloween 2: The Third Movie") back to back but Blumhouse and the directors decided to wait and see how fans responded before filming the next one because they didn't want to spend a year+ making the next movie if everyone hated the last one they made.
So the next one my still be good, since it was in the cards when they were making this one and it sounds like the same team is coming back. After that though? I'll be a lot more cautious.
@GoldenFox2109 I think they should do an Anthology Series with the Halloween Franchise again.
End the story of Laurie and Michael with Halloween (2018) and try again what didn't work out with Halloween 3: Season of the Witch because people at that time weren't ready for that.
That was the coolest horror movie I’ve seen in a long time, it had a fantastic soundtrack, story, characters and so on. This theme kept me in the theater until it was over
Edit Four Years Later: 2018 remains my second favorite in the series tied with the original. Still a fantastic entry and Kills was a good sequel to it for me. I only wish the trilogy had ended better
Halloween end not good but not bad . Few Michael
Something about John Carpenter's music that is unique that can never be duplicated. Another great soundtrack composed by the master of horror himself.
This is quite literally the best Halloween Theme I have ever heard. I love the 'Shape Chases Alison' bonus half way through. Gave me goosebumps 👍
Carpenter didn't have to go as hard on the Halloween Theme as he did, but damned if he didn't knock it out of the park and into the outskirts of town.
dig the beginning but 5:08 on is incredible in my opinion.
most definitely!!!
Damn straight. That's a nice throw back to the 80's type of sound.
Yessss!!!
Yes the original song is “the shape hunts Allyson” !!!! I’ve been listening to it non-stop
I love the rest, but I agree. That gave me chills. That strong synth with that galloping bass is too g*ddamn good.
Amazing stuff. Really has that old school Halloween vibe. Cody is quite a monster on the keys, his solo work is great too. And John is still the master of horror and suspense.
This and the Halloween II are the best imo.
John is a legend and will always be amazing. And I agree, this music probably wouldn’t be as powerful without his son’s influence. This took many great minds, not just one.
My father taught me to be a pilot, John taught his son the same way. Beautiful stuff.

There's something urgent-sounding about the beginning of this song. Like you're running from Michael but no matter how fast you go, somehow, he keeps getting closer.
"No matter how fast you run, Michael Myers can walk faster".
To me, this is the ultimate Halloween theme. I grew up with the original films and saw Halloween 2018 in the theater when I was 18. I wasn't a huge fan of the other sequels but Halloween 1978 and 2018 will always be my favorite.
