I really like your channel with this old school sound from games, espacially with the different synthis! But what do you mean by "emulated"? I feel like i am remembering this sounds a bit different sometimes, but it could also be my memory, because its already 20 Years ago! Is there a difference between your emulation and the real sound back then with an real MT-32 card?

"Emulated" means he's not running it off the actual hardware. He's using emulators which approximate the sound. It's hard to tell the difference unless you have the emulated sound and the real system side by side. They have the Amiga sounding "almost" perfect, and it was once said it could never be emulated. However, I think they still have a bit to go with the MT-32 emulation. I have an MT-32 for my DOS machine and I don't need it side by side to know this is not "right". It's only in the last couple of years that they've gotten any MT-32 emulation going, so hopefully it will get better. I mean it sounds good, but it's not right...

What are those sounds supposed to be at 12:14? Very different than what is normally heard with General MIDI.

I always thought it was construction.
The weirdness of the sounds in every DOS/Windows version in that song led me to seek out the Macintosh original. I believe in that version, it’s two pitches of the same percussion “clink” (labeled as Hammer in the internal files), some kind of surreal sample that I can’t remember off the top of my head, and then a weird alien-sounding sample, which is called “Fear” on a Yamaha TG-33 (slowed down 50%).
