There is a setting for field exit in auto drive. If you are running a one way course like you showed here you can change it from default to exit after wait point and this avoids the traffic jam at the wait point.
Your tutorials are amazing! The one you did not too long ago on multiple combines and auger wagons eliminated some massive frustrations I was dealing with and I don’t do forage harvester work but going to fire some up just to make use of this tutorial! Seriously, your vids have created so much more enjoyment of Farm Sim for me!
Great Vid, what i do is usally save my windrow course as [fieldxx]row/bale/chop so it allows for easy access to courses with less clutter. same with mower i will save as [fieldxx]mow/bale/chop in case i want to pick up like you did there with grass. total life saver when you have 100+ fields to manage
You could use two trailers hitched to forage harvester instead of a separate tractor beside it possibly, maybe not where as this is my first time doing auto and course play. Although now i think of it, it most likely faster using multiple tractors lol
Excellent Tutorial FSG. I tried this last night and it messed up. I am sure I had the harvester set to a different way point. I agree with the populous, your tutorial videos are amazing. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones
FS25 is now out and rolling, and here I am still trying to learn this stuff on FS22 LOL!!! But I also don't plan on getting FS25 until at least Feb. Excellent rundown tho, but what if I like running the forage harvester? They don't seem to behave right
Oh you can let the AD guys run the trailers and you run the harveter, works a treat for me, sometimes you need to find a different trailer or tractor, some behave better than others
@TheFarmSimGuy after watching your video I had much better luck. I was attempting to run it like I would a combine harvester. The idiots kept running either into the side of me or pushing me down the field 🤣🤣
Nice...the only time I tried wholecrop silage, I was using only courseplay. I did not have a good time. I'll give it another go with AD running the trailers. Could AD be effective at automating sugarcane harvest? There seems to be a lack of cane automation how-to's on youtube.
another great tutorial, FSG. for me courseplay and autodrive work absolutely perfectly for about the first 15% of the field. then, for no apparent reason, the combine stops calling the chaser until it's 100% full. sometimes it's 30 seconds to a minute afterwards before the truck even switches on. i save my game, out and back in and it works perfectly for another 15-20% of the field and does it again. i don't think it likes me at all :(
It unfortunately can do that, probably the chaser calculating the route, try running a two way loop around the field, it means the tractor is going less calculations on the fly. Also on your combine check your pre call is set to on too. Good luck 👍
Another excellent tutorial, FSG! Thanks! I enjoy driving the harvester myself but need course play and auto drive to do the carting. Is that possible? I have been using "follow me" but it won't deliver and unload. A very Merry Christmas to you, my friend!
And to you bud, hope you have a good one, courseplay can deliver but I’ve never found it to be as good as AD, and never tried it for forage, but for example, it won’t follow a combine, it’ll just sit in the field so could be miles away when you want to unload. So not entirely sure if it would work at all with a forage harvester, I’ll have to test
Well worth a test and a vid@@TheFarmSimGuy, AD chasers for manual harvesting does work, i usually bump the pre call level right down to 30 and you'll have a trailer following along most of the time. Adding a keybind for call loader is also really handy.
I vaguely remember having the Forage Harvester tow an Auger Wagon in a previous version of Farming Sim, which basically turned it into a Combine as far as Courseplay+AutoDrive were concerned, and addressed the pipe length issue as well... Is that possible, or am I remembering modded shenanigans?
Two questions. First, since I don't think it was mentioned in previous (Combine and augur wagon) or this video, can you drive combine on your own, as opposed to setting up the Courseplay course? Will the autodrive tractors be able to follow along human driver? Second, have you tried this with vegetable harvester, especially the large DeWulf ZKIVSE, as that one also lacks internal storage for harvested crops?
Hi, yes indeed, you just need to ensure the tractor on Autodrive and the combine have the same wait point selected as you would setting it up for couseplay, but then instead of hitting go on courseplay you just drive the combine manually. I've not tried it with the veg harvester but as with the forage chopper in the vid, which also has no storage, it should just sit and wait until a trailer runs alongside it
Great tutorial I only have one problem I can’t seem to get it to work with modded forage harvesters e.g the colossus forage harvester the tractor won’t follow unless I tab between them and then it either stops or runs right into the back of the harvester
Not sure why that's not working, I don't use the collossus stuff, too unrealistic for me, actually thinking about it, the speed is probably the thing that could be stopping it working. try running it at 6 or 8mph and see if it works?
Something’s wrong with colossus 6000 forage and this version of course play. Wait for next version and hopefully it will be fixed. Yes the speed can cause issues but the sort of issues it’s having has to do with calling the truck as well. There isn’t much info for it online yet so just keep tweaking settings. The krone forage harvester and the 15 meter head works great tho
I did the exact same thing as you, but when my helper pulls up to the dump spot he will dump then stop and it won’t let me hire him again until I drive him back to the field. Do u know what’s going on?
I have rewatched this maybe 10 times now.. I can get the first trackor to work but the second one doesnt. I'll get the message "no harvester with same name found". The harvester has the the correct trigger. Only difference to this video is that I drive the harvester an not an AI worker but the second trackor dosent work with CP anyway. Same message with CP..
@@TheFarmSimGuy I made a little loop just like you have done. Named my triggers "field wait" and "unload" and I have them set to "unload combine". Ofc the one with "field wait" is next to the field Im harvesting. I have the trigger "field wait" while Im driving the harvester with the setting "drive" (the road image). First trackor works fine and I can get them to switch so that the second trackor works but then the first one have "no harvester with same name found". Maybe something has changed in AD since you made that video? Thank you for replying and as a thank you I will subscribe :)

That's a game changing tip right there, thank you!
Thanks FSG for the tutorial. Courseplay was the reason I made the switch to pc back in FS 17. Your tutorials have really helped me over the years.
Thanks Randy, great to hear mate 👍

Still go back to this video if I’m unsure of anything and I’m now using it to teach my son how to use them both.
What map is this recorded on?
Nice, it’s Calmsden 👍
Is there away to set a course to tip at a silage clamp, instead of a sell point?
Yes absolutely, I’ve already done a video on that 👍

Thanks FSG.
Is there a way to make it work for the dewulf harvester

I'm sure it's possible, you;d probably have to mod the auger wagon to take grass
Is it possible to do the job of setting up courseplay in sim dashboard
You could add the keybinds that courseplay has into Sim Dash but some functions you need the mouse for so it wouldn’t do everything
Two questions.
First, since I don't think it was mentioned in previous (Combine and augur wagon) or this video, can you drive combine on your own, as opposed to setting up the Courseplay course? Will the autodrive tractors be able to follow along human driver?

Now I need to figure out how to get auto drive to back into a bunker and tip.
hope someone will see this.when my trailers are far from the autodrive course.. it cannot detect path... how do I fix this ?
Create a 2 way loop around the edge of the field (linked to your unload point) and set your exit point to nearest point
I did the exact same thing as you, but when my helper pulls up to the dump spot he will dump then stop and it won’t let me hire him again until I drive him back to the field. Do u know what’s going on?
It should loop and just keep going til you tell it to stop, check you settings and make sure there isn’t somthing telling it to wait
@@TheFarmSimGuy ok thanks
