Since you now are using things you have not used before, why not try to weaponise the pink air things? They are insane to use on monsters. Chuck one or two on a big fish and see them fly away in a uncontrolable state and fun to look at.

While this game is amazing, I know it's buggy at best but with thus mod it's next to impossible to play. It breaks the game and the tension immediately.
The mod is only doing what the game is already doing, but worse. It's already about an infection/plague and they introduced it gently as you progressed through the game. The mod just shoves it in your face immediately. There's no tact, it's not stable. What part of this is supposed to be making the game better?
