People don't live in carparks. Solar on carparks would generate electricity close to the end user, provide shade over a heat island and there is a lot of carparks.
Yeah but carparks are private land and the businesses that own them don't want to spend that kind of money on something that isn't going to getvthem much of a return
its infuriating knowing solar is cheaper than coal but the solar companies that provide power around me charge a lot more than the coal power so I still can't afford it.
probably there are missing context here about how in some existing grid installation, if all energy sources are cut off, the grid will last about 4hours with battery storage alone but honestly, I expect more polish here, when every little "disadvantage" for sustainable energy project is attacked relentless by naysayers, educators need to do their job better, hope they revisit this video and sort that out
It was specifically stated "lithium ion batteries" and it's an accurate statement. I don't want to provide a direct link because youtubes gonna youtube, but if you search "Moving Beyond 4-Hour Li-Ion Batteries" there's a pretty interesitng (and digestible!) paper from 2023 if you want to check it out!
Weird how little focus transmission lines got in this video. A lot of solar and wind farms need to be built in areas that are not near the current major transmission lines so thatvmeans you have to build new lines and thise new lines frequently go directly tgrough existing farm land and farmers are extremely not jazzed about tge idea of the governmwnt forcing them to have a big transmission tower in the middle of their property.

Good stuff
5:13 when if ever have batteries only held energy for 4hours? Obviously seepage occurs, but not as this statement infers

Could the failure to validly tackle climate change be a problem of capitalism
Will this video still be allowed once Trump takes power? Wish I was joking :\
Since both Complexly and Google are private companies rather than government-owned, there’s not much he can (legally) do to block it.
@@trevinbeattie4888 Corporations are bending the knee to Trump. See Zuckerberg's recent announcement for just one example.
