That was the first reenactment group i joined,waaaay back in the 1990s, 916th of the 352nd. That was before everything was being reproduced. It was kind of expensive and difficult to source everything you needed back then, and the " close but no cigar" east German stuff was frowned upon.

Lol.... last time i totally priced out all my stuff, it was more like 5k. You often need to portray early or late war, or different theater of operations, so you really can go broke covering all the possibilities, low boots vs high boots, m35 helmet vs m42, greatcoat, tunic and kielhosen, m35, 40,43????
