Excellent video. I like the spontaneous unscripted interaction between you and Charles. Makes me feel like I'm out on the water. Also, the area you are fishing looks gorgeous, very fishy looking. You're right, if you are going to fish a Trout Magnet BFS effectively you have to match the reel to a rod with a really propper tip. For me, that is a Proflex 2 or John Coo or Teton UL. They all will give a distnce of 40 feet (measured) without a snap swivel. I have had good results with the TM on 5 inch bluegills and warmouth when nothing bigger is biting. Fun seeing the topwater strikes on the John Coo WP. BTW my BK2 backlashes on max brakes using any lure over 7G. So, a DIY way to increase the brakes would be much appreciated.
thanks and i've already made that video for the brakes.. simply by adding magnets.. still working on a better one might try to install in a different spot or actually remove the magnets and raise them ever so slightly..
A Trout Magnet twitched a couple inches off the bottom will catch everything, big and small. Not for everyone but it's one of my favorite ways to fish. Usually use spinning gear for that though.
The kastking max steel UL and L rod tips fit on the zephyr rod. The ul from the max steel is stiffer than the tip that comes with the zephyr. Thought you would find that interesting
just search colorful solid tip trout rod on aliexpress and it should pop up doesn't actually have a name you can search on ali.. it's called Golden Carp
