- For the last year and a half Jamahal Hill can't seem to get a win either in or out of the octagon. In this video I go over all the L's he's taken in life as of late.

Respect for Hill for vacating the belt, unlike Jones that is holding up the division.
Hill is a clown sometimes but I'll always respect Hill for putting the sport before himself.
I get why he gets hate, but we’re all human
The UFC forced him cuz no one likes him.
lmfaoooo that was eons ago he wouldn’t do it again today if he was in the same situation. he’s big headed asf now and knows he’d never touch that belt again. back then, he assumed he could get it back.
Jones isn't the HW champ, he ducked Ngannou for 3 years then fought a non-champ to get a paper belt, then ducked Tom to fight old man Stipe who was already retired. UFC is playing games there and letting him pretend he's the HW champ to artificially pad his legacy, don't fall for their BS.
Also dude, the timing of Hill on his knees as Jiri, off screen, pushes for a third fight with Alex is diabolical lmao.
i think he yelled because he heard jiri asking for the shot, he wanted that to be him😭
If medieval paintings had sound.
was he hoping he'd say 'yeah I'll give Jamal a rematch' lmao

It blows my mind how little skill this dude has for how far he got. He’s the Deontay Wilder of MMA…without the power.
This is an excellent summary

Hill playing heel has gone the wrong turn, he's not getting "real heat" in pro-wrestling terms where he has some portion of the fanbase wanting to see more of him. He's getting "go away heat" where most audiences don't want to see anything relating to him because they find him annoying.
Hopefully, he just drops the act and tries to fight for the title. No character work.

This is some loser ass shit. How not surprising coming from you
I've said this 100 times, but it bears repeating. Hill has absolutely terrible fundamentals, truly, truly, awful. He's gotten to where he has based solely on his athletic ability. He now has suffered 2 major injuries to his legs, which have diminished that athletic ability. Couple that with the fact that he has willingly taken the villain role and performed poorly at it, I think Hill's career is pretty much cooked and he's about to go on a Reyes like losing streak
Genuinely think he only beats like 3 guys in the top 15 at 205 ..he obv beats Johnny walker (again) .. but after that it’s Anthony smith and alonzo menifield are the only guys I think he’d beat🤷♂️
@@JamesBeattie-lz9ccsmith vs hill, loser has to retire. winner wins the opportunity to also retire

@@hollishill7945 Or Paul Craig apparently. Idk man look at his UFC run before his win over Glover and it's not terribly impressive. He holds one win over a top 15 opponent (Walker) and has either lost to or hasn't fought anyone else currently ranked. Is it possible for him to get some wins against some top 15 guys? It's possible but like I said due to injuries I think his athletic ability will decrease and I doubt he's going to want to take another layoff to improve his skills, if he still can at this point in his career
@ you are delusional if you actually think hill beats anyone in the top 15 outside of Johnny walker , Anthony smith and alonzo menifield.. hill could beat those guys but the other 11 would beat hill easily … Jamahal hills best wins are a 42 year old glover .. @indigochild2.098 Your last statement is the biggest reason for his downfall. He drastically overestimated himself, underestimated Alex, and got crushed brutally. And it was so sudden and unexpected for him, that he had to convince himself that it was just an accident, not a skill difference.
8:16 another thing: yes Jamahal, you and Khalil are different fighters and Alex is smart enough to use different gameplans for each of you. I thought that was just a normal fighting thing 😂
Whenever I hear fighters say “I’m just gonna focus on me and what I do best” I see them taking a hard L. Prep is a large part of winning or doing good in fights
Jamal really wasn’t even a champion worth listen if you look at his strikes, he throws his whole body into it. He doesn’t block. He doesn’t have head movement. He slow out of shape, not training. He’s a failed champion.
The funniest part about all of this is the pereira v hill beef was almost completely one sided and he still lost 😭
Everytime he makes me feel bad for him, he does something else that reminds me why i started disliking him to begin with.
Seeing him keep trying to lay on the ground every few steps after his loss to jiri and his team trying to get him to the backrooms made me laugh. A touch of empathy but overall laughter when reminded of his nonsense
Why does everyone pronounce Alex Pereira's name so weird? It's like they become Spanish for a half second. I blame Joe Rogan for pronouncing it so zesty.

When he confronted Alex in the gym, Alex calmly said "put the gloves on", in Portuguese "coloca a luva", but Hill apparently chose not to. Oh well.
Dude relinquished the championship belt to not hold up the division. That is respectable. I think he deserves some empathy. I dont think Alex would approve of all the hate he gets.
Always with the most interesting videos. Thanks ITP!
i think thats a BIT much to say - he beats 95% of fighers in the weight class on that night. he didnt even look bad. Jiri is just a monster and came in hyper focused. would have been extremely hard to beat Jiri that night.
I do feel for Jamahal. Bro doing well against Alex when they were testing each other out then got clipped by the shamanic power and killed early on. Then Jiri finally abandons the Homer Simpson boxing approach, stops being the T-Ferg of Light Heavyweight just in time to save his career, Jamahal still fights like a warrior, wins a round but gets finished. It could have been closer if he'd fought the Jiri who fought Rakic last year. People comparing him to Smith too is sad to see.
Smith got dominated by Jones from pillar to post for 5 rounds and said 'He's not that good, I just didn't show up'. Hill got caught by a Poatan left hand special and everyone roasted him for how he promoted 300 when he'd stepped up like Alex, especially after an Achilles injury and time out, to save the event.
He was suitably delusional for acting like he was any way disadvantaged by the cup incident at 300 since it was Pereira who got caught by it and gave the okay but outside of that, I feel like he's been a pretty realistic guy who just wanted a rematch, unlike Smith who's a routine retard with his 'Roman Dolidze, middleweight on short notice with dubious striking, is a double threat for a light heavyweight' yet thinking he could beat Jones.
The Pereira fight is one of my all time favorites. Been watching MMA since the early 00's and I've never seen someone wave off the ref after receiving a low blow, let alone proceeding to ko the crap outa the guy who kicked him. Just incredible stuff. Not buying Hill's explanation that he let up. Says "protect yourself at all times" then claims he "stopped completely". Also, he and Alex touched gloves after the low kick and immediately before he got ko'd. Clown shoes.
Tbh, we should’ve taken Hill’s past wins with a greater grain of salt. He was always just someone who won from athleticism, and now he’s finally fighting people who aren’t over 40 and/or have crippled knees.
Definitely felt bad for him when it looked like he couldn't even make it back to the dressing room before he started to break down and cry on his knees. All those people around him but you still feel alone in moments like that.
hope this channel blows up brotha
It couldn’t have happened to a nicer, more humble guy. Congrats jamahal
Not sure anyone noticed but Hill wore number 24 in the pickup game which is same number Kobe wore when he raptured his achilles and had a downward career after the injury
Bro the title of this video took me back to my childhood. Thanks for that ✌️
The fact that Alex’s hands are almost as big as Jamal’s head is scary as eff. Dudes contact area is insane.
Showing up to the gym to talk shit to Pareira and immediately backing down when Pareira tells him to put on gloves and get in the ring is exactly why fans will never stop shitting on this guy.
From Jamahal Hill's Excellent Adventure to Jamahal Hill's Bogus Journey.
The worst thing about Jamal Hill is that everything he says he truly believes it comes out sounding cool, but in actuality it’s usually very awkward
Okay, I gotta say this because it erks me to no end when professionals use wrong terms. Hill didn't square up with Alex at the gym. He tried to punk him out yea, but squaring up is when your feet are square below your shoulders(is easier to get knocked down when squared up). What fighters do with their stance is to move their feet off square below their shoulders. Fighters don't square up, they square off. Sorry. Had to get that one off my chest.. Been sitt'n on it for a while.
5:10 right that conference would’ve been so much better if Jamahal didn’t say anything and Alex didn’t say anything either and just looked stoic for half an hour
Gonna go back and rewatch some more old fights, but he was a lot sharper and had more spring in his step against Santos and Glover. He seems to have regressed with his footwork and defense, and they were already poor for the level he was fighting at. I think that achilles' injury has diminished his athleticism, and his skillset hasnt caught up yet. He should take some time off to work on his physicality and skills in the areas hes lacking if he wants to continue at the highest level. Tbf hes only lost against the other 2 most recent champs.
Hill is currently still only 2 consecutive wins from another title shot. Hill has lost to Pereira(the current champ) and Jiri(the previous champ). Add to that how shallow the light heavyweight division is right now and wins against maybe Jan and Rakic would put him right back in the conversation for a title fight.
These two are the worst fighters for Hill's style, besides Ankalaev. He has to fight fighters below the Top 10, because if he suffers another knockout in his next fight, he will be fired from the UFC.
Don’t forget to mention that when Hill went at Alex at the gym Alex told him to put on the gloves to fight rn and hill wouldn’t
I always think it's hilarious how people downplay Hill beating Glover for the belt, saying Glover was too old and it wasn't impressive. Hill beat the hell out of Glover. Yet, Jiri having a back and forth fight with Glover that he almost lost several times is treated like some great win for Jiri? Can't have it both ways.
Not sure I agree. I think by his standards he fought well. Bro has been winning despite his deficiencies, he had good attributes and a charmed run
The mans woman was looking at Jiri with the old wide eyed "hey baby" stare after the fight as well. Bros life's falling apart
His name his Hill, with two L's
Jiri improved his head movement massively tho
Alex was in that dudes head to the point that he wasn’t training for Jiri. Period.
In my head this was Jiri’s first title defense and Alex’s reign simply isn’t real because he abuses magic so the loss to Jiri hit like crack
I think he had a really good fight with Jiri and actually earned some respect IMO.
He was throwing down hard with no fear and hurt Jiri several times.
I'm more impressed by his loss than i am by islams layup win.
Hill is so overrated, I figured that out when he got destroyed by Paul Craig. Arm flopping about n that.
Great video per usual. Agree with your take. I am however starting to pity hill. I think it was after seeing him take a shot with jiri despite losing after giving it his all in the cage. I dont like how the internets dragged his daughter into this either
Alex giving him gloves and the coach just been super chill was the most gangster shizz ever 😅
Hill is the exact kind of person to get just a tiny taste of success and then immediately act like every subsequent loss is a fluke or something
Every fighter should memorize a speech like this in case of a loss: "Man I've got to go watch some tape and figure out how to crack this guy in the rematch!" Don't complain about ref or judge decisions; all it does it make you look bad, and it won't change anyone's mind. Just keep focused and show a little grace in defeat.
Alex throwing him the gloves was such a Poatan move. The guy is definition of aura.
"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." -Proverbs 16:18
Just keep increasing Glover's age like the barbershop scene in Coming to America. Glover Texeira is 137 years old.
Crazy because Yiri just was not training actual martial art before this fight 😂 imagine if he trained at Jackson wink😂
Ur goin to hell for adding that at 07:17 lmfaooo
Hill officially becomes my favorite fighter, deep down i know he’s a good person and looking back all of his “act” is just to sell fights he didn’t hurt anyone didn’t disrespect anyone. Without him Alex wouldn’t become as beloved as today, how can the crowd love a “good guy” without an awesome “bad guy” ? ? I wish him the best and his career will advances in the future.
No... Alex is loved because he's actually that good. Because he hardly speaks English because he doesn't care he comes in does business leaves. Alex deserves all the respect he gets. Hill deserves nothing but contempt the guy is an absolutely flog.
LOL Poatard response. Dude says “Chama”, has no personality, and people like you blow him.
Ya but after this fight and this L Jamal gained my respect back. He took this L like a champ and was respectful to Jiri. Hills still got a bright future ahead. If this doesn't mentally ruin him
He surely can as long as he remains healthy and keep the same fire. Maybe he needs to drop to mw, or he could get a few tune up fights then train with the best fighters in the world, he'll be back better than ever
Jamahal made the light heavyweight division massive!
No... Alex an jiri did they single handedly made the division worth watching before that who care about 205?
@@guilliman1990there was also Jones and gustafson, unless you're talking about pre Jones bulk.
Hill looked a bit sloppy and undisciplined. I wonder if he overlooked Jiri a bit (maybe because he dominated Glover while Jiri barely won. Hill looked way more disciplined vs Glover than Jiri). Also what surprised me most is that he didn't seem ready at all for Jiri to do crazy stuff in the last round. Jiri usually does stuff like that and it's actually an excellent opportunity to get back at him if you're ready for it. Like Glover learned to survive Jiri dumping his energy and then turned the fight for a while until Jiri would recover.
He's got that Hamburger Helper money though...
The groin shots and eye pokes from Hill were a disgrace. I didn't think Jiri would be able to continue after the second eye poke
