The way Steve surrounded Nanette with dangerous and manipulative men is highly, highly suspicious to me. He had several outs. His son was dangerous, his brother was dangerous, some stranger in the yard... It's like he had his bases covered to make her sound crazy and paranoid. Maybe Steve didn't light the fire, maybe he didn't pull the trigger, but this man killed his wife. He was absolutely involved

for some reason this gives me *besties in high school dying each other’s hair with box dye and if our parents find out we’ll get in huge trouble* vibes
So here's my thought: Nanette was going to leave Steve, Steve shoots Nanette, moves her body to master bathroom.Pours gasoline over everything. Call Brian to show up the next day t start the fire, gets mistress to go to McDonalds with Nanette's debit card. Steve's at work so he has alibi because spouses are always first suspect. Steve doctors footage at mom and dads ,which never gets checked. Sheriff and Steve, fire chief, are the local big shots ,so sheriff covers for the local fire chief. Steve collects insurance from house and did Nanette have life insurance? Cha ching! Steve lives happily ever after with the next woman. What do you guys think? Possible?
Love this theory. If the footage is grainy then any women would probably look similar. The only thing is they said there was Nanettes dog in the car wouldn't the pet have been freaking out?
Wait, what if Steve's girlfriend was dressed as Nanette in the footage? If Nanette was killed the night before, it makes sense. Did anyone even question her about her whereabouts both days??
I had the same thought. However, she supposedly had the dog with her. Unless of course, the dog was put in the house and then went to Nanette and perished from the fire. Was the dog autopsied?
@@krystalbrazel8217 Or anything else. Breakfast lunch, dinner, snacks. EVERYTHING would have given him severe stomach discomforts. Oh, we got a call to fire on ABC street? Can't go. Diarrhea. I would have made him MISERABLE.
Considering she was the side woman at some point and they were together for over a decade isn't that hard to imagine all her conflicted feelings about the matter. I know way too much people that let cheating pass cause "I'll give my partner a second chance" or stuff like that so who knows.
My ex husband took a polygraph test once at his job because someone was stealing. He was the thief!! But he passed that test. Turns out sociopath and or psychopaths can pass them because they feel no emotions 🖤
@@Anonymous-54545 when you “feel” no emotions your body does not react. Sweat, heart rate and such. This is how a lie detector works, on your body’s reactions when questioned. So yes, that’s how it works.
Wrong again. They were only saying that sociopaths and psychopaths do in fact have the capacity to feel emotion. They do not have the capacity to feel guilt which is what a polygraph is measuring. Have you never seen an angry sociopath? I have! Is anger an emotion? ☑️ There is also speculation that sociopaths and psychopaths will sometimes feel some sort of conceptual empathy but even if that is the case, there is the assumed capacity that they must be able to shut it off because of their obvious ability to disregard it. And of course, that's just speculation.
Polygraph tests are often invalid though which is why they aren't used in court- It's so easy to beat them lol. Just stay calm and don't stress yourself out. I thought everyone knew this.
The fact that Steve kept downplaying her anxieties especially over that random man showing up at their house makes me suspicious of him esp considering that the cameras were conveniently turned off at that time??
@@SuperMir00 that’s what I was thinking too, maybe he had an outside man do it (which is who she saw outside) that way he’d still have an alibi to support his story. It’s just way too suspicious and seems like a lot of inside knowledge about the house was needed. Plus how could someone turn the cameras off from outside without being seen doing so? Either he told them where they were located and how to disable them or he did it himself knowing they’d be around the house that day. It’s just WAYYYY too coincidental
I found it strange that for someone paranoid and anxious enough to install cameras ALL OVER their home, to suddenly be unconcerned about a creeper on the property.
I think he believed her, but I also think that when he saw how scared she was of Justin, a teen with a temper, he knew how she would feel if she saw a mysterious man hanging out around the house at random times, and the cameras cut off, especially after Bryan's letters and his release... So I think that most of it was on purpose.. I might be completely wrong tho. That would make sense only if Steve was the (or one of the) murderer(s)
I know that rage, and the DESPERATION, PAIN, guilt, shame, pain, pain, pain, which fuels it. Fist bump for standing back up…EVERY SINGLE TIME!! We are in a club we did NOT choose, but we are there bc WE are ALIVE! 👊🏻
Ok.. whoa. if they were having a bad run in their marriage and home girl knew he was having an affair and ready to leave him.. she ain't packing his lunch.
It's a possibility that she could've actually packed his lunch. Just because y'all wouldn't do it doesn't mean she doesn't have Stockholm syndrome... Because I'm saying it like this Steve is allowing his brother to threaten her while he was locked up Steve allowed his son to make her feel unsafe and he did that manipulated her fear of his family allowing it to happen that way he can seem like he is making her safe by putting up all the surveillance cameras and keeping all these guns who's to say that all the cameras worked in the first place he put it up there for show but had some actual ones to show her they work... Just a statement in general
Ok, this is amazing. This was one of the first videos of yours that I watched (LOVE this series, btw). This incident happened less than 3 miles from my home. I walk past the cemetery where her grave is located every day while walking my dog. Recently, several of her family/friends gathered at her grave to mark the 5th anniversary of her death and to advocate for continued investigation. Such an awful, awful story.
The way Steve constantly ignored Nanette's concerns, I don't think he loved her. She was afraid of his son & his brother yet he didn't seem at all worried for her safety. Not even the authorities don't seem phased by that fact. They're all crazy.
It's so weird that Steve is a fire chief yet, no smoke detector installed in his house to notify fire house in instant if there is fire happen. But he took precautions on other things like cameras, storm door whatsoever. And when the husband ignores your worries about something, i bet that husband is not being responsible, not completely loving, and it definitely shows that he's going to distance from you.
Yes glad someone pointed it out i was looking for this, it made no sense for there not to a smoke detector and him having to be called up there by a different person
I love the very few edits. Yes we all sneeze. You’re awesome. Many spend too much time to make everything perfect. Things are not perfect. Dude, you rock.
I can't stop thinking about how Steve and the family cleaned up the debris. He would know that he shouldn't do that, with his experience as a fire chief. I don't have a clue who it was or why, but that is REALLY Weird.
This! Within 5 days after the death of a beloved wife! Funeral is a lot of work. Plus shock and grief. And he cleans the whole perimeter of a pretty big house! It was probably not even cooled down yet, a deliberate rush!
Yes, this! If he was innocent, he definitely would not have tampered with evidence in hoping investigators would locate something to bring justice to his wife's death. I think the husband was definitely involved. Firefighters work too closely with police in these situations for him to claim he didn't know better.
This is true about debris being in her lung even with small fire. I was recently in a grease stove fire and when I went to the ER to treat my injuries they did my Covid test and the swab came out completely black! I was only in the kitchen for a few minutes.
The fact that Bailey switches on 50 battery powered candles before recording for us, spends so much time researching, getting dolled up for us... true dedication n care. ♡♡
Did they ever question the mistress? Maybe Steve killed her the night before and then the mistress went to McDonald’s pretending to be Nanette and the mistress actually burned down the house. That sounds logical to me
if the mistress was a firefighter it would be very possible. In most places they work 24 hours on, 48 hours off. so depending on what shift she worked, she very easily could have been off without it being suspish timing- and although most of them wouldn’t do it, they know how to start a fire and make it nearly untraceable
@@kising13 but that’s just it. Why use Gas? It’s way over the top and so easily proven when used in arson. There are better, less smelly, fuel sources....A firefighter would have done so much better to hide his tracks.

@@candacesalim9659 yes I say yessayyy to all of these 🙌🙌🙌😻
This is the one!!
Possible?
Sounds very possible
Totally possible in my book
Something along those lines yes
It seems highly possible I like this theory it lines up
Love this theory. If the footage is grainy then any women would probably look similar. The only thing is they said there was Nanettes dog in the car wouldn't the pet have been freaking out?
I love watching these . Not just informing but I try to use your makeup tips... And I've learned so much
This makeup look is amazing!!!
I know one thing, if my husband was having an affair...I would NOT be making his lunch. STAAAARRRRVE! I'm just sayin.
This detail right here! No way she found out he was cheating and still wanted to make his lunch. I'm not buying it.
👏👏👏👏
That was the first red flag to me that she got up made his lunch and stood on the porch to watch him leave. What wife does all that these days?
Trueeeee
@Hannah Smith yes but to ones who are cheating on them....doubt it.
Wait, what if Steve's girlfriend was dressed as Nanette in the footage? If Nanette was killed the night before, it makes sense. Did anyone even question her about her whereabouts both days??
I definitely think it was someone else in the drive thru, yeah.
That's a brilliant thought. It makes so much sense. I mean the family was not sure...?
Totally agree with this!! Brilliant deduction!!
I had the same thought. However, she supposedly had the dog with her. Unless of course, the dog was put in the house and then went to Nanette and perished from the fire. Was the dog autopsied?
Same thought
I love this look Bailey! Love the glitter AND your content!
Gorgeous makeup look!
Steve: “she was aware of the affair”
Steve: “she packed my lunch”
Uhh, yeah... Not I
If my husband was having an affair and I knew about it he wouldn't want to eat anything I made him for lunch.
@@krystalbrazel8217 Or anything else. Breakfast lunch, dinner, snacks. EVERYTHING would have given him severe stomach discomforts. Oh, we got a call to fire on ABC street? Can't go. Diarrhea. I would have made him MISERABLE.
Aqua tofana
Considering she was the side woman at some point and they were together for over a decade isn't that hard to imagine all her conflicted feelings about the matter. I know way too much people that let cheating pass cause "I'll give my partner a second chance" or stuff like that so who knows.
If he asked me to pack his lunch i'd calmly make it, smile, them throw it as hard as i could directly into his face ❤️
My ex husband took a polygraph test once at his job because someone was stealing. He was the thief!! But he passed that test. Turns out sociopath and or psychopaths can pass them because they feel no emotions 🖤
Yup, as long as they can stay calm, they can beat the polygraph.
It's not "feeling no emotions". That's an oversimplificationz
Def one of your best episode, Bailey! 🤩
Do you have a podcast? Love your voice and your stories, can't always watch.
I'll never get tired of those candles in the background 😭💕
We stan the candles
Right?! It gives such a soft lighting effect 😍. Love it!
Yes a neutral no fus vibeeee
Love the candles!! Looks kinda like the mistress of darkness!!
I loooooove them tooooooo🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🥰🥰🥰
The fact that Steve kept downplaying her anxieties especially over that random man showing up at their house makes me suspicious of him esp considering that the cameras were conveniently turned off at that time??
Soooo true!!!! Seems like they were all for show!!!
Yep sounds like he was trying to get her killed and had someone else doing it
@@SuperMir00 that’s what I was thinking too, maybe he had an outside man do it (which is who she saw outside) that way he’d still have an alibi to support his story.
The way he downplayed a random person at the house sounds like he paid a hitman or something if that nature.
This makeup..... So so pretty. Just beautiful
The candles in the background. Perfect.
My rage at men not believing rightfully scared women until the day they die is **immeasurable**
Cindy James is the one that makes me the most angry.
i feel you
This ALL day ❤️❤️❤️
Ok.. whoa. if they were having a bad run in their marriage and home girl knew he was having an affair and ready to leave him.. she ain't packing his lunch.
Period!!!! Because whatttt????
Just an unnecessary detail provided to support Steve’s narrative? Commonplace language indicator exhibited by “guilty” parties.
That’s what I SAID!! She’s not giving him a goodbye in the morning before work either 😂
Hahaha trueeeee his story has holes!!!!!!
The makeup is fire in this video! Great aesthetic
Watching some of Bailey’s old videos and this is by far one of my favorite makeup looks that she did! 😆
"Let me just make this lunch for my husband and send him off to work with a kiss." Said no woman ever after catching the @ss cheating on her.
This is exactly what I said! I was like yeah sure she packed a lunch for him after having confirmed her suspicions of an affair? There’s no way.
Exactly what I thought. Ham sandwich with a side of arsenic lol 😆
Just a statement in general
unless it was a special lunch

@@Aimeeevps They are! I’ve got to get some of those 😁
Amazing vid this was actually posted on my birthday ❤️😁🤣
It seems that he was a narcissist, that would explain why he was making it seem like it was all in her head. Very sad case.
It sounds like he wasn’t worried cuz he was on to the next and thought she was just paranoid
ok, but the hair and the tan? I'M LIVING
She looks so fabulous.
exactly she looks gorgeous!
SAAAAAAAAME
I’m new to your channel and I freaking love it.
Dang girl! Ur makeup looks really great here!
I thought it was Nanette’s Sad who was a fire Chief.
Basically gaslighting her and her outcries .. scuse the pun.. my opinion only.
Great points!!!
Did they ever question the women he was having an affair with like was she working during this or? Cause could of been both of them
bailey’s tan and hair combo today is just chefs kiss🤌

Dude, you rock.
Love the make-up soooo much gonna do it for New year thanks Bailey. 🥰😍
Chances are... if he left someone for you, he’ll leave you for someone else. 🤷♀️
^that.
YUP.
Every time!
True
Fact
I can't stop thinking about how Steve and the family cleaned up the debris. He would know that he shouldn't do that, with his experience as a fire chief. I don't have a clue who it was or why, but that is REALLY Weird.
This. He knows this. Suspish AF.
I think that -if they had a ton of money- steve hired a hitman.
They shouldve checked steves bank withdrawals. 👀
If he formerly owned two businesses, he’d be savvy enough to hide a large transaction like that.
Love this! That glitter too!!!💕😍😍😍
This is true about debris being in her lung even with small fire. I was recently in a grease stove fire and when I went to the ER to treat my injuries they did my Covid test and the swab came out completely black! I was only in the kitchen for a few minutes.
We live in this area. The police chief is definitely corrupt af.
me too and yep!!
Police are always corrupt.

Did they ever question the mistress? Maybe Steve killed her the night before and then the mistress went to McDonald’s pretending to be Nanette and the mistress actually burned down the house. That sounds logical to me
Yeah that could be a possibility
Could be possible but the mistress worked with him, so they'd need evidence that she wasn't at work during those times
if the mistress was a firefighter it would be very possible. In most places they work 24 hours on, 48 hours off. so depending on what shift she worked, she very easily could have been off without it being suspish timing- and although most of them wouldn’t do it, they know how to start a fire and make it nearly untraceable
But wouldn’t she see the cameras of the McDonald’s? She wouldn’t know the footage was so grainy. 🧐😅
@@kising13 but that’s just it. Why use Gas? It’s way over the top and so easily proven when used in arson. There are better, less smelly, fuel sources....A firefighter would have done so much better to hide his tracks.
Thx for taking time to make ur vids i love it 🙂 love yah
