I scotchsbright the mating surface and also use cross pattern to tighten, if anything it keeps my brain to always use a cross pattern on everything. Look for torque specs, I use those as well. Yes you can just tighten the crap out of them but again, I want to be a precise technician.
Leverage is your key. Use a proper sized allen headed drive socket on a longer ratchet and there would be no woes. Plus you have the leverage advantage of the ratchet. No 2nd person needed.
I never thought about heating those bolts. Great tip!

This is off topic of this sprocket video which was awesome. I found a crack in my 2022 kx 450 sr frame. Do you know anyone in the so cal area that can weld on a aluminum frame? I can send pics if you want.

Never use that brand, totally agree. The owner is using his millions from loctite to shut down dirt bike trails.
