Thanks to Warhaven for sponsoring the video!
Monk is a really powerful class in Baldur's Gate 3, unlike like its traditional counterparts. This video goes over how to make a Monk powerful early on, in the first levels. Some may say a monk struggles early and only truly becomes powerful late in BG3, but I say: NO! to those heretics. I slap the nay-sayers with a dose of reality in this video. A monk is powerful early, mid and late game. In this video we make use of various Monk-specific mechanics and synergies to make the Monk overpowered early, and we then accordingly go over abilities, skills, leveling, how to use your attacks, subclass, races, party composition, gear, itemizations, elixirs and so forth.

How can you push enemies if you have no strength?
hey how do you get the effects on the skills like fury of blows is there a way to do so?
@NizarGG Do you think the other gear options as a Half-Elf, outpace being Astarion (elf-vampire) going monk and having the ability to to get the Broodmother Revenge (+1-6 poison dam as weap becoems coated after healing, and he can always bite to always heal) and having that extra damage and vampire skills? Those extra skills become he heals 6d6 after every bite and Misty Escape/Gaseous Form.
@@raptorman48 I think with Fury of Blows Push Ability, the push scales with Dex.
You did a wonderful job here, but I would stay Half-Orc Rogue, so to be more `useful´. Kudos!

Thank you 💕
Are there any quests or events that you would recomwnd i do before going to the trader in the creche? I don't want to miss out on any quests or events that might resolve themselves
You are a hero among... non-heroes 😊
Thank you so much man❤
Why put the point from Tavern Brawler into str? Added str score won't stack with the potions, so might as well put it in CON, and you could lower starting con by 1 and put those points elsewhere, right?
I appreciate that you showed WHERE the gear was, instead of simply saying 'after you pick up X'. Some of us don't follow every video and have all the gear locations memorized!
Same here, and I love this guy’s video format too. All too often I’m finding guides online that are just some dude rambling with random combat clips playing on the screen 😂
I'm completely new to BG3 and every single post and video I've checked trying to find info on how to play the most optimised game has been impossible to understand lol, it's always like 'and ofc once you've drank from the Well of Hag Tears and taken the Eye of Bane you need to grab the Underpants of Bob' and I'm like the WHAT and WHERE and WHO
@@Tay-wj9et😂
Slight change I would make to this. If you go to the Myconid Colony in the Underdark Blarg sells Hill Giant Fingers (1 to 3) after every long rest. Derryth also sells Hill Giant fingers (0 -2 from what I have observed) (3 Hill Giant Fingers let you make a Hill Giant Salt, and 1 salt with any suspension will give you an Elixer of Hill Giant Strength) and Elixer of Hill Giant Strenght (1 to 3 per long rest) and you can continue purchasing these through act 2. With this in mind after you get the gloves that put your dex to 18, respec as follows:
STR 8
DEX 8
Con 16 (17 after Tavern Brawler
Wis 17 (18 after Ethel)
INT 10
CHR 14
With the gloves and the Elixer your stats will look like this
STR 21 (27 in act 3 with Elixer of Cloud Giant STR)
DEX 18
CON 17
WIS 18
INT 10
CHR 14
The increases wisdom will give you an unarmored AC of 19 and of course really good saving throws.
I went for this too. Don't see why you should stop using the Hill Giant Elixir - though your lore shifts to a steroid addicted monk who's scouring Faerun for his fix.
@@Dat0shka Well the video itself doesn't mention it since it's directed towards act 1 but Nizar's stats are actually superior since you can immediately rush to Last Light Inn at the start of act 2, buy the Mighty Cloth, get 20 Strength that way (which is the same as 21) and free up you elixir slot for Bloodlust, Vigilance or Viciousness.
This is particularly strong for people playing Honour Mode since being able to have flexible elixirs for resistances is extremely valuable and definitely worth more than 1 AC.
LOVE IT, the little things like the intro, the map work, its a specific style and its so good.
EDIT- the following has been patched out and no longer works
One important thing for these builds is that it doesn't cost an action to unequip a weapon, so you can walk around with whatever you want in your mainhand and only unequip it when you need the regular mainhand unarmed attack some time in combat.
It also means you can take advantage of returning throwing weapons since you the auto equip from it returning doesn't replace your actual weapon bc you use fists.
@@LiamFarleyMA yeah this is a nice option. the returning pike from goblin camp vendor is pretty good. Tavern brawler strength bonus applies to thrown weapons as well so it can be a good ranged option for this build.
This has been patched. 😪
@@skthechef8075 nothing about it in the patch notes and it works last time I played after patch 9.
@LiamFarleyMA It took an action to unequip last time I tried. Will check again.
If anyone is worried about Auntie Ethel moving after going south of the Blighted Village. In the Underdark at the Myconid Colony there is a trader who sells one elixir of hill giant strength. Derryth Bonecloak sells one I believe each long rest so if Auntie Ethel disappears and you have yet to respec into strength that's a good alternative for getting those elixirs. Great Video, love this build.
to respec do you visit Withers?
@@jameshudson8845yes he charges a small sum of gold
That’s exactly what I was looking for, not even planned playing monk and now I’m making one. Hope you continue for the subsequent levels and maybe other classes.
Thank you for showing the monk class some love. I’ve been playing as a monk for the last month and oh boy! Straight fists of fury.
Finally a video thats shows gameplay while levelling up. Every other video just show the respec and level up screen. Thanks, been planning a Dark Urge monk playthrough.
excited for the second half, been experimenting with monk alot lately, favorite thing so far is subclassing a monk w thief rouge for the extra bonus action and dash/diseng bonus actions. Tons of mobility when you need it and double the firepower when you don't. Also allows you to easily get sleight or persu/intimi/decep proficiency if you want to be the lockpicking monkey and/or face of the party
Do you go rogue first or monk first?
@@benkelly7182 monk first 6 levels, then rouge 3. You really shouldnt be touching multiclassing until at least lvl5 imo but with monk especially since when you hit 6 you get those passives that add extra damage which is pretty vital
@@horsepuncher421 thanks homie! Really appreciate it
If you haven't made this build yet, do it at least once. I just entered upper bg city and so far my main character of this build has dominated the battlefield. 1 - hardly used healing for any party member, and very rarely had to heal the main during a fight. This saved a lot of money on potions, and a lot of heal casting by party members, who instead i specced out to be offensive casters....Shadowhearts necro spells are very good on individual and AOE targets. 2 - i did upgrade the ilithid powers to get fly ability, and that just made this build ridonkulously powerful. e.g. Spoilers: the intro to Bhaal temple fight with mobs all over the place on different levels...not a problem!
Thank you Nizar GG for this great build suggestion! It's almost cheating...almost. I did however discover an exploitable game glitch (don't know if anyone else has), that doesn't have to do with this build, but definitely helps it. This build can be improved by a lot of items and pots, so I won't get into that. Just know that with a pot of strength my Str = 21 and with bracers my Dex = 18. Main hand atk = 19, offhand = 17. I take off the bracers (took my Dex down to 15) and the stats should remain the same right? Nope, both stats went down to 17/15 respectively. However, when re-equipping the bracers to put my Dex back to 18, you'd expect my attacks to go back to 19/17? Nope, they went to 20/19. I was confused so i took off/put on the bracers again. This time attacks went to 18/17. I kept doing that until the game made my attacks 20/20. It even stays that was through short rests, and game saves. I have to redo it on long rests when i drink another strength potion. Damage done by unarmed attacks never changed, only the attack bonus.
You can continue down south to the swamp and still get potions from auntie Ethel IF you don't force her to hag mode. That is, stay friendly and kill the two brothers when you encounter them harassing our favourite shop keeper. She'll teleport to her hut, but you can still buy potions from her so long as you don't act aggressively toward her.
my prayers are answered .
I created a monk 2 days ago and i was lost between every build in youtube .. and i was wondering when nizar gonna drop a monk build.. and here you are blazing me with that OP video explaining every details .. god bless you man.
i'm running monk (your build)
Lae'zel (Your Build) (with ASTRAL you can get it from act1 if you know how)
Astarion ranger/Rogue (Your build)
and a Bard Lore as you mention in your video cause that short rest spell is OP
I'm just deleting everything with that top of a cherry of Elixir of Bloodlust.
Can't wait for Part 2..
I remember playing a tortle open hand monk in curse of strahd and i remember every combat encounter looking at my dm and saying, "and now your prone"
My DM wouldn't let me do that cause he knew how OP that would be. Also - Curse of Strahd was the best
Gloves of Cinder and Sizzle(Fire)- adds scorching ray
Seraphic Pugilist Gloves(Radiant)- adds guiding bolt
Snow-Dusted Monastery Gloves(Cold)- adds ice knife
Thunderpalm Strikers(Thunder)- adds thunder wave
Servitor of the Black Hand Gloves(Force) - adds fear
Flawed Helldusk Gloves(Necrotic) adds no spell but can add bleeding
List of gloves throught the game that add elements to unarmed strikes gloves of soul catching are way better, and most gloves are act 3 only, this just gives a list if you want to add elements to your unarmed strikes for any reason during the game and don't want to or can't get soul catching yet as that's a bit into act 3. flawed helldusk is act 2 cinder and sizzle are act 1 or 1.5 depending on how you count the creche figured it'd be useful for someone
Added point: it is actually possible to upgrade the sentient amulet you lose tasha's hideous laughter as an ability you gain a number of Ki Points equal to your Martial Arts die: 4, 6, or 8 Ki Points if your Monk level is at least 1, 3, or 9, respectively. the amulet also makes you lose the possibility of becoming hysterical due to the amulet's curse to do this simply refuse the monks quest and beat him in combat, unfortunate that's how you upgrade it as i do enjoy the amulet's reactions to some situations but it's a decent trade off imo as it gives another way of getting back Ki points without wasting short rest charges meaning you can go all out as much as you want
This is an awesome guide! I love how detailed it is, especially when it comes to gear and the correct order to get everything. Really looking forward to the second part of this video!!!
While going south will stop Auntie from showing up in the Druid grove and bring her into her hut. As long as you don’t progress her quest chain, she will still sell to you items in her hut.
Reminding me I can knock them prone first, and then have advantage after? Totally worth the video on its own. I didn't think about it at all. Thanks for that. Subbed and liked.
You can still buy elixirs of strength from auntie ethel in her house. Just don't say anything to Mayrina about her brothers dying and when Auntie asks about your eye say you'll try your chances on your own. You can come back and retry the dialogue any time to continue the quest.
All you need for an OP monk, is to be a monk. STR/DEX/WIS doesnt matter what you prioritize. Finally, a video game has given monk the satisfaction it deserves. Not only is the class itself amazing, but...like 70% of the games badass gear is specifically for monk lol.
But yes, Open Hand is definitely the most powerful (imo the most boring)
Actually it is so good, that I had to personally remove the class from my party because it made shit way too ez on tactician lol
Once you hit level 6 no matter what subclass you chose, that is when monk truly begins to shine and pop off. I personally use monk/shadow as my "rogue" because its basically the games version of "Shadowdancer" and is the only true "hide in plain sight" imo. Combo with darkness + blind immunity = my personal meta (Great video keep it up!)
waiting for the next part. this was amazing and i love your editing
I’m in act 3 and I still use the Bracers of Defense and Haste Helm. They are just that flexible and adaptable, haste helm is even better if you go strength monk because you can spend 10ft of movement to jump much further than 10ft and clear obstacles.
Duergar with permanent invisibility and giant form are my favorite by far for my Dark Urge strenght Monk (and maybe any class)
Tried it in tacticien, it's so op that I feel like I'm in easy mode. I destroyed the inquisitor in the gith creche. Incredible!
You don't need to long rest to reset vendor inventory. The easiest way to do it is to respec a character with withers. Every level up anyone does resets merchant inventories.
I also highly recommend starting with 17 wisdom, 16 dex, and getting hag hair for 18 wisdom. You're going to want high wisdom no matter what build you do on a Monk because it boosts your save DCs, including topple and stunning strike which are incredible.
I smell a gold exploit, and I’m here for it
I dont think so, you think about save dc but forgot about attack roll with Dex, attack roll is more important than save DC because ultimately monk need to attack first!!
If your attack is miss, then there are no save dc after.
@@violau8550 atk roll from 16 dex is enough , and with tavern brawler and 21 STR from elxir you add more atk roll.
@@riszu4599 attack roll is never enough, let's not put the TB here first, because he is comparing WIS to DEX
@@violau8550 bro he is comparing wis dex in MONKS videos with TAVERN BRAWLER on the guide.. wdym
I combined The Watersparkers, The Sparkle Hands, and The Sparkswall. To create a monk that constantly charges lightning charges and AoE lighting DoT that's immune to lightning damage. All items in act 1. Added The Protecty Sparkswall for some defensive flavor.
Did you mean "Resistance"(1/2 damage) to lightning?
@@FirstLast-qg7xn Not immune to lighting damage, but to being electrocuted. Like standing in electrified water without taking damage. A lightingbolt to the face will still hurt.
@@FirstLast-qg7xn Yeah sorry, not immune. Someone already corrected me. Immune to the electrified water.
but how do you distribute your ability points without gloves of dex?
@@gabrielschumacher3625 Well I'm still only lvl 6 so my abilities are pretty much his before he respects and using the strength potion
Please drop part 2 this build is so much fun
PART 2 IS OUT: ua-cam.com/video/waCUspr6EUU/v-deo.html
Gith monk could be interesting too just because of the Gith Jump ability to traverse the battlefield easier.
and misty step
Gith monk is the strongest early class I have played if you pair it with the greatsword and giant elixer pots.
You don't want to use your bonus action jumping though, it's for punching
Hey bro, I just wanted to give you a shout out for this build. Currently my main I’m not tactician run and level four I blew through the goblin camp with such ease
I was amazed, and I also had in my party your Gail ice wizard build, which is fantastic !
Appreciate you much, man
Your build guides are oustanding, thanks so much!
If you can bear to spend 3 lvs I recommend you put them to thief Rouge for an extra bonus action which gives you some good extra damage
0:14
"The way of aggression is not the monk's way"
Me resorting to aggression at every confrontation:
The Wrath condition from the Bloodguzzler Garb only affects melee weapons, not unarmed attacks. As far as I can tell, the first useful clothing you can get for Monk is the Graceful Cloth from Lady Esther. The Bloodguzzler is pretty good on a Reverberation Barbarian tho.
i like your editing style a lot mate. u dont yap, you get to the point, and the little bits of presentation ticks and music are spot on. keep it up
This is the best monk guild yet i found thanks for the help
Since you are already counting on the Elixir of Giant Strength for setting your Strength to 21, it would be better to instead allocate the +1 stat point from Tavern Brawler in constitution. You can even reespec at this point to set you constitution to an odd number so that the +1 bonus from tavern brawler makes it even and grants you additional bonuses.
The stat point from Tavern Brawler can only go in strength or dexterity.
@@klarsen1042 its actually strength or constitution, but even if it were dex, the point still stands, as dex is still good for AC and initiative
Yeah its fine to put it in con when using the elixirs and only switching it to str after you respec and have the dex gloves. At least that's what I did it's probably negligible either way.
I know this is an older video but just wanted to complement you on a very well done guide one of the best I’ve seen and I’ve seen hundreds thanks bro, I have a confidence now to start a monk on tactician mode today!
Incredible guide. I've seen this build before, but not with the complete walkthrough like this. Awesome work.
The answer is yes. And I restarted after this video. My monk rocks. Thanks bro
If you're willing to get the infernal robes, +1 ac, resistance to fire and a cast of fire shield is nothing to sneeze at. Not sure i can recommend that course, but it is useful. Also the vendor at the underdark colony sells the hill giant potions, so it is possible to build a stockpile for the entire game. That opens up the gloves slot for damage or advantage.
There is a work around to get the Infernal Robes with out killing Karlach. Also the latest patch bumped up the price of Hill giant strength potions to 216 each.
Sheesh, for a temporary consumable thats a bit steep. Some Magic items are cheaper than that and they last
They fixed that price since then@@Obekiwi
Can’t wait for part 2!
one thing I would suggest for any monk is to get the club of giant hill strength ASAP and you can also use Ethel's hair to either up your wisdom for when you get the kushigo gloves or you can use it for +1 strength and with the giants club you will have a flat 20 str from very early on the +1 also stacks with elixirs so even if you use the giant elixir you can still get that +1 and have 22 strength or 28 strength when you get the cloud giant elixirs. I usually just run straight for the arcane towers from the nautiloid crash youll rack up plenty of XP on the trip and it will be well worth the effort. If you cast feather fall you can just jump down a hole where the phantom spiders are and you will land safely in the underdark.
Having an add for Warhaven on a BG3 video is like an ad for the Lada Niva showing up on a Mercedes G-Class video.
just to add something thats realy good early game, desintegrating night walkers are amazing because of the way it makes you ignore basically all movement impeding things (i forgot where i got them from but im sure theres a guide out there somewhere)
My rouge had those on for almost all of act 1 because I couldn't go back once I tried em.
For an improvement on the hill giant potion cheese. The vendor stock refreshes on a character level-up. When your party levels up, warp back to druid grove, level each one individually and after each level-up buy 3 potions from auntie ethel. 12 hill giant potions each party level up. I haven't tried to see if it works if you get someone from your camp and level them up. Only limited by money - currently have 26 potions on my Tav.
I forgot a couple times so I recruited a level 1 hireling into my party and leveled him up a few times in front of Ethel in Emerald Grove, buying elixirs in between.
you can also respec a character with withers and do the same thing. if you're lvl 5 and respec it's 15 elixirs for a 100g respec.
Another add on to this, withers doesn't care if you pickpocket him, so make sure to get your money back from him for that extra cash
You could swap out your party for the other three characters and getting 21 per level up .
You can also advance the Ethel quest until she is in her house. Then save all the money along by just steal the elixirs.
Thanks for video. I’m new to BG3, playing in PS5. Your video was very helpful. I’m looking forward to seeing others about monk class. You got yourself a new sub.
Your videos are unlike any guide videos I have seen. Thank you!!!
My first playthrough i finished was a monk, open hand. and i used a staff, because it just looks awesome. So initially att with a staff that adds thunder or other stuff, and then switch to the hands. the cats grace robe in act 1 till the end. etc.
loved it.
does a staff constitute "Unarmed" combat? or only fists...
@@ufopulse not entirely sure, but there are staffs that give bonusses to unarmed combat. And irl it is used in martial arts. worked well for me
I remember building an Uncle Iroh inspired Half-Orc Monk/Sorcerer (using only Fire and Lightning spells), think its time to revive him! ^^
I think a way of the element monk would be more fitting due to how element bending work in the avatar
I apologize if this has already been mentioned. I swapped out the Bloodguzzer Garb for the Graceful Cloth raising my dexterity to 20 rather than 18 at the level 5 respec.
Nevermind. Upon further review the stats for the Graceful Cloth and the Gloves of Dexterity do not stack. Graceful Cloth buff is applied first then Gloves of Dexterity will buff to 18.
This combo maxes at 18 dexterity. But the other buffs from the Cloth are pretty nice so I still use the items together.
Never clicked so fast in my life lol. Been running Monk/Thief to a satisfying degree but am excited to see what flavor you're cooking up here :D
This will be my build for 3rd playtrough... Good educational build Nizar GG!! please keep up the good work
Been waiting for this one, and a two-parter no less. Thank you! :)
amulet of misty step is nice for this build. Ring of flinging is also good if using thrown weapons
Found your channel when I got into Elden Ring… BG3 is much more my speed though. I was very excited to see you create some content for it. Very excited to see more!
best guide I've seen on bg3 so far
Fire build enjoying it currently, just waiting on part 2 now 🎉
Not sure if something changed since you made this video, but the haste helm counts as wearing armor, which shuts of both the monk's unarmored defense, and also the bracers of defense.
Helm dont works, bracers works they are not armor
Haste helm doesn't count as armor and doesn't do anything to your unarmered defence...just checked on my character
Can't wait to see the next clip on the Monk
1. you can respec and dump both STR and DEX, keep drinking those elixirs and use those points in WIS or CON 2. Who's your healer in this party?
The Class of Catch these hands are always my favorite ones
Currently on my Open Hand monk-run (honour mode, even) and I don't quite get why I should rebuild once I get the gloves of DEX. I mean... I do know why, because then I could stop taking Hill Giant elixirs and use others instead, but .... :
- I can get a nice DEX boost from the Cat's Cloth (also giving me advantage on all the rogue/thief-stuff I use my monk for). But the robe and the gloves do not stack, so with the gloves equipped, I'll always sit at 18 DEX. Without the cloth (and why would I wear that if I used the DEX gloves?), he'd be less useful at lockpicking, etc. Reason being that I could either wear the DEX gloves or the gloves of thieving, so either 18 DEX or advantage on DEX checks... not both.
- More importantly: I cannot use some of the more interesting gloves that will up my unarmed damage or give me other boosts the monk benefits from. I'm currently switching between the Gloves of Cinder (+1d4 fire on every unarmed hit plus lvl3 Scorching Ray) and Sparkle Hands (2 lightning charges per unarmed hit plus advantage on metal armored enemies while charged). Still not quite sure which one is better WRT damage. Those lightning charges do add up when you can land 5 or 6 hits per turn and at 5 charges you'll deal an additional 1d8 once. But I guess the Cinder ones offer more damage over time. However: They're a bit unsafe vs some enemies, like alcohol-soaked Kobolds.. :D
In any case: What I've been doing so far (just hit level 7) is keep everything as is, with STR my dump stat at 8, 17+2 DEX and WIS 16. All I need to do for this is keep drinking Hill Giant (later Cloud Giant) elixirs which aren't hard to come by at any point in the game and which don't cost an arm and a leg, either.
Besides: I prefer giving the gloves to somebody else like Karlach or Wyll to help with their unarmored AC/initiative/ranged ability.
I'll probably wait with the rebuild until I can grab the Bull's Cloth at Last Light (not sure it would help, but it might) and the Drow's +2 STR elixir at Moonrise.
This was BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you😭😭💜💜💨
Funny, the ideal party you proposed was exactly the party I had on my playthrough, except that my TAV was the Lore Bard and I respec'ed Shadowheart as a monk. Except that I kept her at DEX, without STR or tavern brawler, and she was still my main DPS.
Your builds are amazing! Can you do one for bard? I’d love to see your take on that class
All the classes are pretty fkn good in the game. I wouldnt worry too much about min/maxing in BG3 since its a roleplaying experience even tactician is pretty straight forward too.
Why not worry about both? There is no reason why you cannot min/max AND enjoy some good roleplay. For many it just adds another dimension to it that is fun and engaging and given the title those are the target audience. For me it is one of my favourite parts of the game and ussually helps me to get more into the roleplay (both in Tabletop and BG3). In other games I play I often think of a build for hours or days only to get bored minutes after finishing it. In BG3 I work on my build, get hooked by the story and then carry on beyond a point where I would abandon other games.
Currently at level 12 only Halsin and Lae'zel have no multiclass in my group and I couldn't be happier. For some characters the min/maxing helped me enjoy them so much more (like giving 6 Fighter levels to Jaheira). As long as you are not doing stuff like Volo's surgery or forcing Shadowheart/Astarion to specific paths on their quests to get their mechanic bonuses I think min maxing is totally okay and makes the game more fun for many. The fact you don't need to do it is a cherry on top and a testament to how good Larien understood the DnD community when making the game.
Honestly if the tactician mode was harder the min/maxing could be less enjoyable. I remember how I ruined my Dark Souls experience by doing some crazy min/maxing my dex built only to then easily defeat all the late game bossess since my damage was just too high and my defense insane.
Agreed! However, it's still fun to min-max in my opinion. It's a minigame in itself, getting the synergies right and getting the most out of the options you get. And maybe they'll add another higher difficulty option in the future, so it's nice to know for then.
Great Guide I just started this week, coming off of Solasta a few months prior and was stunned on how confusing and intimidatingly different BG3 was. So this guide came in clutch to get my bearings. My question is, is there a way to get more AC like multiclassing into something else or how do you feel about multiclassing into Warlock 1 or 2 to get Hex to get better success rate on Stunning Blow?
Thanks for this build really appreciate it starting my first playthough today and gone as a monk worrior off the elements going for that avatar feel 👍 the items at the start off the game look really good and cant wait to beat my enemys in to submistion
Your editing is wicked bro, I’m gonna check more of your guides out
I would say once you hit level 9 there's a very good argument for respecing into 6 monk 3 rouge for thief extra bonus action, in act three after haste and wholeness of body set up you get ten attacks all doing like 28~36 damage, and I'm in the start of it
I am now addicted to elixers of hill giant strength, thanks!
I really appreciate the early build and not starting a act 3 build
amazing vid!! pt 2 plzzzzzz
I'm going Barbarian/Monk for my Resist Durge; Barbarian for Dark Urge rage moments, then Monk for resisting and overcoming the urge.
Easily my favourite class can cover so much distance does really good damage and above everything fights in style.
From the best elden ring builds, ladies and gentlemen, Nizar GG
Part two when? I need it! :D
Doesn't the haste helmet cancel the bracers? Their condition is that you're unarmored and the helmet counts as a light armor.
haste helmet doesnt count as helmet. You if you examine it, it doesnt have the armor tag
Incorrect, it's not armour
Loving your BG3 content Nizar!
great video! Are you planning on playing Lies of P or just sticking with Baldur's Gate?
thank you so much for a great LEVELING guide
In the alchemists cellar you can find a Book which you can open with a gem found at the spider cave under the blighted village. Doing so will give the party member who read it permanently +1 to wisdom. Keep the book, you can get even more stuff in act 3 with it.
No. It gives plus 1 to wisdom saves not wisdom.
@@bigshirley8658 Oh yeah, thanks for the clarification.

Awesome map special effects
Right now im at level 6 and I found a pretty OP monk build.
I was going to use reverberation stacking, but that seems to be broken and not do anything,
so instead my build abuses a quirk in the psionic overload illithid power, where it rolls 1d4 psychic for each SOURCE of damage.
I have gloves that give my unarmed attacks extra fire damage, so my attacks deal bludgeoning, fire and (monk passive) damage types.
way of the open hand also gets wholeness of body for a second bonus action, which lets me hit 6 times in 1 turn.
this is 18 sources of damage, so 18d4 psychic extra damage
this lets you absolutely destroy troublesome targets right at the start of combat, and with so much movement speed (i got extra from mutliple sources) you can pretty much beat up multiple enemies per turn
Is that actually how that works? Makes me wanna use that for my honor run
i was honestly planning to make a monk on my second playthrough🤣 this is nice.
Beautiful work, love it and help Really for noobies like me rather than just speaking without actually showing the effect in combat.
You have my sub sir x)
Very coooool! Next play thru for sure. I made a monk in act 3 it was so broken. Didn't get to enjoy the power as I did acts 1 n 2.
When can we expect part 2 bro?
First time playing a dnd game, gonna try this build.
Gonna play tactician mode. (Typically play max difficulty in most games) wish me luck.
Don’t feel bad about dropping difficultly, these games tend to be more about being efficient rather than mechanical skill, and efficiency comes with experience
How’s tactician going so far?
Spark hands is pretty good too for a early level build too paired with the lightening robe
Wrath doesn’t work on unarmed attacks (description also states „+1 bonus to damage with melee weapons.“) - so the recommended chest piece is essentially useless as monk.
But besides this, great guide. Thank you
Doesn’t the haste helm count as light armor, tanking the ac you get from unarmored defense? Seems like it’d be more useful on Astarion early game if that’s the case.
it's not classified as armor as it doesn't have the armor tag. tested it on my monk also
To me the best is the way of the four elements! I’m unstoppable!
I was about to give up on playing a monk - but I will restart with your suggestions and see if I can do this... wish me luck
Bro you need to change that part in the blighted village where you circled the wrong house and made me go into a cave full of spiders
