Oh Julie, thanks a lot for mentioning me on this video! We enjoyed a lot in our Ireland CZT gathering, we all nice memories of those days with our dear Caroline MacNamara. And it’s wonderful what you did with the Zenbossing tool engraving technique on your tile. 💚
A first timer to see something like this done. Very interesting. I have a section in my dairy barn to watch my pg goats give birth that needs to help me with the waiting time. I am going to look into this. It just might work.
A few years ago (before the shutdown), I spent a lot of time sitting with my elderly Dad and I started doing zentangle art then and I continue to do it while I’m listening to podcasts.
Thank you so much Julie, I really really enjoyed watching you create this amazing and awesome Tile, and the embossing looks really really awesome and stunning too once you’ve laid down the graphite and revealed it in all its glory. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Wow, that was awesome! I had never seen how zentangles were created until now. I think will give it a try! It was really relaxing watching you - thank and stay well🙂
Lovely technique. I'll need to find some cardboard or something as I don't have Zentangle tiles - I just use whatever I can find, but it will need to be a bit thicker to take my embossing stylus.
I think the embossing was the dimension on this one. Subtle…yo could do two and glue them together in the back with a hanging string emerging to make an ornament.
It took me a long time with this one (as well as Paradox). What helped me most was to remember to go "inside" when making the initial lines to connect the dots. Then "outside" to cap them on both ends. Also, go side-to-side when expanding. Don't try to expand using the "caps". Use the "sidelines". Hope this makes sense. Finally got it this am!
How many of your tools are from China? Zentangle is like meditation for me. With meditation I have found simple life, and love for our Earth. Love your work, I have created my own zens, morally found a problem. So I do without, use what I have, or create my own tools.
Thanks for the lesson, really enjoy it. Like to know what is the cardboard or paper you are using for this project? Also is there any specific materials to use for Zentangle?
Very lovely! Julie: The surface onto which you were working the tile on, made a scratchy sound every time the tile was rotated, and was picked up by the microphone. It was hard on the ears. Just something to consider remediating for future videos.
HEY! Wooooo-what did you do with Maria? What have you done to her? Have you zantangled her into her room and not let her out to do this recording?! I'm telling Rick. "HEY, RICK! WHERE ARE YOU AT?!" What have you done with Rick? SHENANIGANS!!!!!
I love how the dimension is shown. The shading really shows off this effect ❤❤

Me too! Looking forward to being able to organize CZT gatherings again. Face to face is much better! Merry Christmas and a big hug to our dear baby.
Lovely and elegant. Thanks Julie.

I always enjoy watching you draw Julie! Thank you!
Huggins is one of my favorites and adding the embossing and the shading is so beautiful! Can’t wait to try it. Thank you for sharing this.
The shading on this project is beautiful with the embossed areas.

I love the effect of the embossing/texture. It's such a subtle detail, but so beautiful.

Exelente video
Avec quel numéro vous travaillez le contour
You should work with a plugin developer and create a illustrator plugin for this. It is really needed.
Lovely technique. I'll need to find some cardboard or something as I don't have Zentangle tiles - I just use whatever I can find, but it will need to be a bit thicker to take my embossing stylus.
The back of cereal boxes have an interesting gray tone and can be cut to the tile sizes.
This one was fun but I wished at the end that we were going to make it 3-dimensional some how.

would you ever use pastel chalks?
Great idea! Or the white charcoal on black or other colored tile. 💖❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Hi fromArt by me I can’t do this one my brain just can’t work it out .love yours that inside work looks great.
You can do it!

Great work. Ever think about being a tattoo artist?

We use a 100% cotton paper - our paper tiles are available on Zentangle.com

Why aren't Rick and Maria taking part
They are in this series.. but different days feature different teachers from ZTHQ :)
That would make a cool tattoo down someone's spine. 🙂
Nice👍👍
