Nice. Of course this was a highlight reel for her. But I saw some good passing skills and setting up others for goals, too. Looks like she has a good eye for plays and isn't afraid to recognize when the best play is for her to throw up the 3 or drive it in for a layup.

She has all the gifts of a great shooter and assist leader. At her size and athleticism she should get a lot of rebounds which isn't included much in the highlights. At the next level with the right coaching she should be able to dominate the boards.

On senior nights you play teams you know are easy to beat

You play the schedule you get. You can't control who you play, but you can control how you play. If there was no sound in this video and no shots of the scoreboard, you would see a team with good fundamentals, good spacing, good hustle and ridiculously good ball movement. Individually, they all have good footwork and court awareness. Nobody rushed anything, they let the shots come to them. Unselfish play, there a few plays where the person who took the shot wasn't the first person who was open. And extremely well coached. Anyone who has coached knows that one of the hardest things to do, especially at the high school level, is to go out against a team that you know is nowhere close to being as good, and get your players to players to play like they were facing a team that matched them in skills and ability at every position. Improvement is not just measured in stat lines.

49-9 boy I don't miss coaching girls varsity basketball. Our first game as the worst team in the division the year before was against the previous years division champion in their gym. We lost 78 to 8. I questioned every choice I've made in my life up to that point. I learned a lot that season. Lol
